Installed SQL Server 2008 with Reporting Services to a Windows Server 2008 box. Tried to open the Report Manager and had no tabs and no Site Settings link - just a blank home page. I am logged onto the server with local administrator rights, so it
shouldn't be a permissions issue.
Thinking the installation was bad (IIS was not installed before installing SSRS), I uninstalled and re-installed SSRS after setting up IIS 7 on the server. Still the same issue - just a blank home page in report manager with no ability to add users
or assign roles or see anything except the links for "Home", "My Subscriptions", and "Help".
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have recently installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer on my Windows 7 Pro PC. I installed a named instance called ARGENTOSQL. I want to connect to my Report Manager and have been following the instructions in the following article (which worked for me previously
when doing the same thing on my laptop running Windows 7 Home and SQL Server 2008 Developer):
Unfortunately, despite running Internet Explorer as Administrator, adding http://MyPC to trusted sites, navigating to the Report Manager URL http://MyPC:80/Reports_ARGENTOSQL, then (when prompted) entering my Windows user authentication (user account Ian
- an administrator account on my local machine), I cannot shake the following error message displayed in the browser:
User 'Ian-HP\Ian' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed.
If there are any experts out there reading this who know what's causing this or can provide me with a list of things to check/do, I will be very grateful. :-)
Our Report server is using Report Manager 2008. Previously I would load reports to it that I created via BIDS. Now I have to use VS 2010. I see that I can build and deploy reports there. Can I send it from VS 2010 to the REport manager 2008 on the other
machine? I should add that now i have to develop on laptop only before i was on the server.
If not what are my options? I recall that vs 2005 objects were not taken in Report manager 2008.
I have made some changes to most of my reports that have been previously deployed to report server. I deploy the changed reports from VS and deployment is successful. When I run report manager on the server to which they've been deployed, I get
the old report. I have to delete the existing in report manager and redeploy from VS in order to get the updated report in report manager. This doesn't seem right.
Am I doing something wrong???
By the way...this doesn't happen all the time.......
