Page expired after report execution

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 20, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I have created a complex SSRS 2005 report that queries a large dwh and a SSAS 2005 cube. Now, when I launch the report, the rendering takes more two hours and when I click to navigate on a drill-down report I have an error about the page is expired.

Any idea to solve this issue? Thanks

Issue - The report execution has expired or cannot be found. (rsExecutionNotFound)

Hello Experts,

I am running a huge SSRS 2008 report (that returns 2 million records) and it gets rendered sometimes and sometimes it gives me an error,

"The report execution <some string> has expired or cannot be found. (rsExecutionNotFound)”.

When I see SQL Server log after this issue comes I see following message there;

"A significant part of sql server memory has been paged out. This may result in performance degradation. Duration: 300 seconds. Working set(KB): 97672, memory utilization 42%"

IMPORTANT point to note here is when I am running reports with 1 million records or smaller than that, then I am able to execute them successfully without any issue.

I am using SSRS 2008 64 bit, Win Server 2003 64 bit. RAM is 8GB.

Please help me to know what are these issue, are these two issues related and how to fix it?

Microsoft Report Viewer control to display data on one page

Hello everyone,

I am wondering if the Microsoft Report Viewer control allows for display changes.  Say for instance a user wants would like to see all the data requested then another time would like to toggle thru the pages of infomation.  So does anyone know if the control allows for display changes from complete view to paginated viewing.  I am using MS VS 2008 with ASP.NET 3.0.  Thanks for your response.

IE cannot display the webpage during report execution

Hi. I have a problem with a report having some T-SQL and MDX queries. When I execute it during the working hours I have an error about that Internet Explorer cannot display the web page, but in the other hours the execution is completed successfully. I have a look inside RS log but I cannot find any errors; no timeout is set about report execution inside the Report Manager. Any ideas to solve this issue, please? Many thanks

Long execution times for Search pages even after 4th or 5th user has accessed the same page.

Hi Guys We have a Sharepoint 2010 farm with two NLB web fronts ends, a Index server and a two box SQL cluster. The same problem also occurs on a dev box which has Sharepoint 2010 and SQl server running on the same single box. When a user access the search or advanced search page we get long execution times of between 15 and 30 seconds.  The strange thing is that the user will have a slow response the first time, then they are fine for a period of an hour or two and then they hit the slow response again.  Below i have copied info from the developer dashboard.  Does anyone have a suggestion of where to start tackiling this issue. Thanks 1st Run.  (Note this site was accessed by 3 other users first) BeginRequestHandler (0.05 ms) PostAuthenticateRequestHandler (0.06 ms) PostResolveRequestCacheHandler (18.48 ms) GetWebPartPageContent (16.87 ms) GetFileAndMetaInfo (15.57 ms) GetWebPartPageContent (35.25 ms) GetFileAndMetaInfo (34.99 ms) GetWebPartPageContent#1 (89.27 ms) GetFileAndMetaInfo (89.06 ms) Add WebParts (3975.17 ms) Search Box (3974.54 ms) SearchBoxEx.OnLoad (15426.56 ms) SearchBoxEx.HandleContextualScoping (0.01 ms) UserPreference.GetUserPreference (15418.52 ms) UserPreference.GetFromCache (0.04 ms) SearchServiceApplicationProxy.GetUse

Passing parameters from ASP.Net web page to SSRS report

I have a web page that displays some data.  The user first selects a date range on the web page and then can edit some data.  When they click a submit button, I want to run a report.  But I would like to pass the start date and end date values that the user already entered on the web page to the report.  Is this possible?  Can I use the value of a session variable in the report? Problems passing parameters to SSRS report from ASP.Net web page

I have a web page that displays some data.   When they click a submit button, I want to run a report.  But I would like to pass the start year/month and end year/month values that the user already entered on the web page to the report.  Here is what my url looks like when the report is displayed: http://xyzserver/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fReports%2fDevicesAllNew&rs:Command=Render&StartYYMM=201007&EndYYMM=201008 But my report displays the 2 textboxes for my StartYYMM and EndYYMM parameters as empty.  What am I doing wrong?  I did a google search and I saw something about using ReportServer instead of ReportManager.  I notice at the top of the browser when I run my report, it reads "Report Manager - Windows Internet Explorer".  Is this correct? Permission Errors for Users on Home Page only of SQL Server Reporting Services Report Manager

I have spent days now investigating this problem, so any help very much appreciated! I have a remote web server 2003 running SQL Server R2 Express Edition with Reporting Services installed. I use Report Builder 3.0 locally to build report. If I login via Internet to Report Manager Web Page as an administrator I can perform all the expected and required actions, creating new folders and assigning permissions for users etc. I have added a new user "ReportUser" as a Browser of a child folder. If ReportUser longs on to home page, he receives the all too familiar error: User 'XXXXXXXX\reportuser' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed. However, if the user starts at the child folder of home page, and then logs in, he sees the expected page, and can run the report!  This is not very satisfactory. How can I allow user to see home page, without an error message, but not be allowed to click on any folders to which he is not entitled? I am now aware that SQL Server R2 Express Edition has many limitations compared with full Editions (fixed roles, cannot manage Report Service from Management Studio etc) , and many of the "solutions" offered on the web just do not apply.   John Walton

Dynamic or Expression-based Report Page Properties

Hello, I have a tablix(table) with column grouping making the number of columns dynamic. Although our customers have been warned that this could lead to the columns going beyond the edge of the normal landscape 8.5x11 inch page, they have asked for alternate solutions. Beyond rotating the column labels and reducing fontsizes, the issue is not so much that it goes off the page, but the fact that in print preview mode the data is broken up requiring that you go to the next page to get the remaining data. What I am investigating is whether the Page Properties of the report body, either the pagesize property and/or the interactivesize property, can be manipulated at run time? This way if a user, based on their experience with the parameters they usually select and pass into the report, knows that the results will span the length of the page onto a second page, could choose a new parameter such as pagesize/interactivesize so that it changes from 8.5/11 to perhaps the next standard page size of 8.5/14 inches? This does not mean the contents would change during the course of rendering the report, just a new input that could decide at run time what paper size to use in print preview mode.   Thanks.

Repeat Report Item with Data Region on Every Page - doesn't work

Hi All, The Repeat Report Item with Data Region on Every Page property does not work - or atleast not the way i would expect it to. My report contains a header which is the Report Name. In the report body - I have text box with the company name, pulled from a data set. Below the company name i have a line, followed by a text box displaying the selected parameters. When I run the report, the first page displays all information as expected. However, subsequent pages only display the report header (report name) with the table butted up against it. I have tried setting the Repeat Report Item with Data Region on Every Page to true (and the data region to my table) for the Company Name text box, the line, and the parameters text box. This has no affect i.e. page 2, page n... are not printing the three items. Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks.  Clay

Job Execution times / statistics report ...

We have several sites (countries if you may call them) and each site has its own set of ERP databases (Progress database). We have designed ETL layers that are open and which can be invoked for each of these sites. On top of the ETL layers, we scheduled the SSIS packages via SQL jobs for each site and scheduled them to run at various times of the day based on the site operating hours. I want to now present the amount of time it takes to copy data from the ERP system into our SQL 2008 Staging and finally into our DataWarehouse. I can manually right click on the SQL jobs and get the timings, however, I want to automate this report so that we can look at it initially weekly and maybe monthly when things start to run smoothly. Any pointers or ideas? I know I can run SQL Profiler and capture the SQL behind this report, would it actually work? ThanksJagannathan Santhanam
