Asp .NET Event Handling between Request and Response

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 20, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

When a request is submitted and the response is recieved and before the page loads with the response, is there a way to control the user to press any key board buttons?

Web Service that will receive xml request and send xml response

I am trying to create a web service that can do the following functionality:

Request XML

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Authentication UserName="test" Password="test" MyId="0987">
     <Function>1</Function>
</Authentication>

Response XML - After authenticating request xml from client send them back the following response:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Response>
   <Test MyId="0987">
       <TestType id="11"></TestType>
       <TestType id="22"></TestType>
   </Test>
</Response>

How can I create web service to do this.

WPF ComboBox Loaded Event - Handling Globally

Hello, I am having trouble hooking up to a WPF ComboBox Loaded event when trying to do it globally with EventManager.RegisterClassHandler in the parent control rather than with XAML right on the control.  Here is the code for the ComboBox control: <DataTemplate x:Key="MyUIEditor"> <ComboBox Width='Auto' x:Name="Combo" ItemsSource="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type local:MyControlWPG}}, Path=MyCollection}" SelectedValue="{Binding Value}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectedValuePath="FullName" Background="Transparent" /> </DataTemplate>   Here is the code for the global event handler:   public partial class MyControlWPG : UserControl public MyControlWPG() { InitializeComponent(); EventManager.RegisterClassHandler(typeof(ComboBox), ComboBox.LoadedEvent, new RoutedEventHandler(Combo_Loaded)); } The event handler gets hit when I declare Loaded = "Combo_Loaded" in the XAML right on the ComboBox control but not when I use the global handler.  Any ideas as to why it doesn't get hit when doing it this way?

SSRS request handling mechanism

I wanted to know as to how the request for Reports are handled by SSRS in the following scenario. Suppose there is a website which uses SSRS 2005 for reporting. The report viewer control is used to display reports on the web page. Parameters are passes on through code. The processing mode is remote.Q1. How does the communication (to and back) with report server take place? Does it use a web service or something of that sort? Q2. If say a  100 requests come in which chokes up the IIS server, those requests won't be passed on to the report server, while the report server is actually capable of handling that many requests. So it does not help in reducing the load on application server as the request for a report is routed via application server. Is it that way? Q3. what does the file ReportViewerWebControl.axd exactly does?Thanks Sagar

Need help in reading Soap request and response on invoking WCF client assembly

Hi All,   I'm new to WCF and i'm using .Net 3.5. I have created a library from the proxy class generated through svcutil. I'm able to succesfully invoke service methods. I was wondering how to capture the request and response soap xmls so that i could render it on browser. If you have any code piece for this kind of problem please share it with me. Regards, Rahul

Handling the DoubleClic Event on a GridviewRow.

Hello, I´m trying to handle the DoubleClic event on a GridviewRow.the objective is to show the detail of a row in a form,so  when the user  doubleclic  that row , so the user be able to edit the detail.Right now  i´m adding atributes to the rows in the RowDataBound event, so when the user clic over the row  i capture  the "Index" in the RowCommand event  and in the SelectedIndexChanging i show a "ReadOnly" popup with the data of the row. And it Works!!But now i need ondoubleclic the row and call a C# function, so in that function i´ll load the row data on a "Edit" Form.protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e){           if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow){                 e.Row.Attributes["onclick"]=ClientScript.GetPostBackClientHyperlink(this.GridView1, "Select$" + e.Row.RowIndex);                             //Here is the trouble, HOW CAN I CALL A C# FUNCTION?              //e.Row.Attributes.Add("OnDblClick", "Myc#funtion();");                      }}Waiting your c

The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion. Consult the event log or othe

Hi,

           Actually i have installed SQL Server 2008 R2 on XP Pro SP3 it works fine after instaling first time but when i restarted my pc SQL Server Service didn't restarted and so i tried to restart that manuly by clicking start in Sql Server Configuration Manager at that it gave this error "The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion. Consult the event log or other application error logs for details."

I tried to repair it again but it doesent resolved .So i Uninstalled it SQL Server 2008 R2 and all its shared tools and installed it again but nothing changed it again gave me the same problem as in 1st instalation after restating maching.

      Any idea! Where i am going wrong?.

i got this thing in Event log of Application

Event 1

"FCB::RemoveAlternateStreamsByHandle(BackupSeek): Operating system error (null) occurred while creating or opening file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA\transport.mdf'. Diagnose and correct the operating system error, and retry the operation."

Event 2

TextBox AutoPostBack not working when handling other DHTML event

I have to format a number in a TextBox while it is being typed. Right after the TextBox looses focus, I need to do other processing on server side, including some database queries.

I'm doing the formatting by handling the onkeyup event, client side. But when I add the handler, the onTextChanged event stops firing on the server. I've tried different return values for the handler but unfortunatelly I'm stuck.

To reproduce the problem, here is a sample where the formatting function was replaced by a simple "convert to uppercase" function. You'll see that, contrary to the expected, the Label doesn't get filled when the TextBox looses focus. It does get filled, however, if the user presses the ENTER key.

What can I possibly be doing wrong with such a simple task?

<%@ Page Language="VB" %>

<script language="VB" runat="server">

Sub Page_Load(ByVal Sender As Object, ByVal E As EventArgs)

'' Adding the event handler like this has the same effect as adding it inline

'txtTextBox.Attributes.Add("onkeyup", "return(upperCase(this));")

End Sub

Protected Sub txtTextBox_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)

lblTextBox.Text = S

Exception thrown when handling Window.Loaded event

Why is the exception assistant not "fired" in a debugging session when a Window.Loaded eventhandler calls code which throws an exception ?
E.g.
        private void Window_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
        {
            //Application.Current.DispatcherUnhandledException +=
               new System.Windows.Threading.DispatcherUnhandledExceptionEventHandler(Current_DispatcherUnhandledException);
            int a = 1;
            int b = 0;
            int c = a / b;
        }

        void Current_DispatcherUnhandledException(object sender, System.Windows.Threading.DispatcherUnhandledExceptionEventArgs e)
        {
        }

Removing the comment signs (//) thus presenting an UnhandledException handler devinately makes the assistant "firing".
Is this behaviour by desi

Fetch raw XML for SOAP request and response inside WCF client

Hi,

I've got a basis WinForms test harness that's implementing a WCF client (.NET 3.5) which calls a SOAP web service.  I need to be able to write the HTTP request and response and output the two XML documents so I can load them back into WebBrowser controls on the form.

It looks like the way to accomplish this is to implement a custom IClientMessageInspector and an IEndpointBehavior, apply the behavior to the binding and then do the work of capturing the XML inside AfterReceiveReply and BeforeSendRequest (inside IClientMessageInspector implementation).

So my questions are:

1. This seems like a rather exhaustive process, is there a more straightforward approach to doing this?

2.  If I am on the right path, does anyone have links to related articles/code samples related to this?

3. In what I have coded so far, I am held up trying to get the behaviorExtension to register properly (inside app.config), it looks as if I must register my classes that implement behavior Extenshions in the GAC in order to make use of them, is this true?

Thanks in advance for taking time away to help a fellow developer!
