The test form is only available for requests from the local machine.

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 20, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WCF

I created a WCF service with several functions. I then created an asmx client for the WCF service and created a webmethod for each function in the WCF service. I hosted the asmx client website on IIS. When I browse the myService.asmx from the local machine, and click on a webmethod it works fine, shows me a form where I can pass parameters and see results. When I browse from another machine in the local network as http://myservername/myService.asmx, it shows me the web methods, but when I click on any web method I do not get the form to pass paramaters. Instead I get this message:

"The test form is only available for requests from the local machine.

SOAP 1.1

The following is a sample SOAP 1.1 request and response.......

SOAP 1.2

The following is a sample SOAP 1.2 request and response.........

Why am I not able to access the form from my local network? What needs to be done to be able to see that?

Copy folder from FTP site using SSH to local machine using DOS batch files

Is there a way to copy a folder from an FTP site listening on SSH connection using DOS batch files? I know that there are several third party tools out there that accomplish this. I am NOT looking for that solution. I tried this in Powershell, but could not find a solution, and I am hoping a simple DOS batch file can handle this.

Any help would be appreciated...

Publish and test a WebMatrix web site using a Local Windows Server 2008

I am new to ASP.NET as well as to WebMatrix Beta Razor language.

I am trying to publish and test a Web Site from WebMatrix Beta IDE to a local Virtual Windows Server 2008 IIS Server.

I did install SQL Server Express 2008 R2 at my local Virtual Windows Server 2008 (using Web Matrix Microsoft Web Platform).

Everything works fine till I add a database table to my WebMatrix site.

When I add a database table and Publish to local Virtual Windows Server 2008 IIS Server my WebMatrix IDE

closes unexpectedlly without any error message.

Running my Web Site using WebMatrix IISExpress works fine.

Any help will be very appreciated...

Creating DSN for local machine in SQL Server Express 2005

Good evening,

This is my first time with SQL Server, so please forgive me if this is a ridiculous question:

I'm trying to create a DSN so I can connect up to SQL Server Express 2005 on my laptop/local machine. I'm attempting to connect via Windows NT authentication. I've tried 'Named Pipes' and TCP/IP settings but am not able to connect. I keep getting an error that states:

SQLState: '01000'

SQL Server Error: 2

Connection failed

SQLState: '08001'

SQL Server Error: 17

SQL Server does not exist or access denied

Is the server created by just installing SQL Server 2005, or is there something additional I need to do? Any help would be much appreciated.

Any hint to make a join between different server run on local machine?

if join remote table and local table, one execution plan is

1:  fetch the data from remote, and then run the sql at local.

2: push the data to remote, and execute the sql on remote, and fetch the result back.

which one is better depends. Does sql server support to use hint to use plan 1 or plan 2?

Synchronizing schema from local development machine to remote web server

As a single developer in a small business I'm developing a data-driven website on my local machine using VS2008 Professional (I also have 2010 Professional)

It is then synchronised with a dedicated server using Expression Web (ditto design)

I'm using SqlExpress both machines and as features are added, I want to synchronize the dedicated server schema from the local schema

VS2010 has such a feature, but it's a ____ of a price to pay for one feature - basically adding fields as I add functionality.

I'm surprised SqlServer doesn't have such a feature built in - am I missing something?

(I've trialled RedGate SqlCompare, but it can't access the remote db, and I'm reluctant to enable SqlServer Remote Connections on a machine I don't own).
