Contact Field Type . InfoPath > SharePoint

I managed to create contect field in IP form, then separate it into 3 text fields, which are then linked to sharepoint library fields.

It`s fine, but resulted SharePoint list recieves contacts as text and stores them also like text fields (ad account or name strings).

But i want to see name`s field type of User or Group.

Can that be done ?

How to read a column of a sharepoint list to a text string field of infopath form?

My infopath form used to read these email addresses from a web service and web.config file. Now i would like to get these user email addresses from a contact list in a sharepoint server. I am trying to do this without writing any codes. Here is what i have done so far: 1. Adding a new "data connection to receive data from SharePoint library or List" where i selected Email Address column of the contact list. 2. I added a new Text Field and define a new rule with "Query using a data connection" defined above. When i try to access the newly created Text field above it always return empty as if the Query attached to it did not executed at all. What did i do wrong? Is there a better way? Thank you in advance for your help.

SharePoint 2007 to Access 2007 - Issues grouping by "Person or Group" field type/column

We are on SharePoint 2007 and using Access 2007.  The SharePoint list contains a column called Assigned Person, column type: Person or Group, single selection, displaying only the name 1) When we Open with Access and Export a copy of the data, then create a report from that table, we do not have the option to group on Assigned Person.  2) When we Open with Access and Link to data on the SharePoint site, then create a report from that list, when we group by Assigned Person... The same person has 2 groups - there are is no other grouping or sorts on the list, and i can't locate a correlation to another field to show why they would have to collections for the same person The Person or Group column sorts "from smallest to largest" as though it is a number field. The list is a task/activity tracking system we created custom for our needs.  We want to pull a weekly report, grouped by Assigned Person, but cannot get access to work.  We do not want to resort to anything more complex, as it takes a much longer process to have reports pulled by Chrystal or one of those types of applications.  And we cannot change out the field for something like a Choice column as the list already has a very large amount of content.  Can anyone assist? Is there a setting hiding somewhere that is causing the problem?

InfoPath / ActiveX error when using person selector field in Word template off SharePoint document l

I have created an out-of-the-box document library on a SharePoint 2010 site.  I left Microsoft Word Document selected as the Document Template.  I then added a person or group column and a multiple lines of text column to the document library. I then went into Library Settings --> Advanced Settings and clicked on Edit Template, opening the template in Word.  I created my template and added the two new columns to the document.  I did this using the Quick Parts --> Document Property --> [column name] feature under the Insert tab in Word.  I then saved the template back to SharePoint. Upon opening the template or creating a new document from the template, I get the following dialog box: --------------------------- Microsoft Office InfoPath --------------------------- One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either: 1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page, or 2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls. As a result, the page might not display correctly. --------------------------- OK   --------------------------- I've searched around (I believe fairly extensively) and have not run into anyone else with the same issue.  Some have mentioned a similar error when creating a custom document information panel in InfoPath, and suggested lowered ActiveX security setti

Map an InfoPath form field to a SharePoint column

I am trying to create a custom SharePoint list template feature (feature.xml, schema.xml, the whole nine yards), which is based on the OOTB XML Form Library in MOSS 2007. I copied the XmlFormLibrary feature out of the FEATURES folder on my SharePoint server, and made a few minor modifications (changed the feature name, new GUID, added some fields in schema.xml, created a new content type for it, etc...).

What I ultimately want to do is publish an InfoPath form template into it as the document template for the library, and I would like to be able to map certain fields in the form template to fields in my custom SharePoint library template. In InfoPath, I open the Publishing Wizard and go through the typical steps to publish to a Document Library. I then choose the columns in my form that I want to promote to fields in the form library, and select the appopriate fields to map to in the form library. I publish the form, and do not get any errors or warnings.

However, when I choose "New" from the form library and fill out the form and save it, only certain fields in the library are actually being populated from the form. Specifically, this seems to work fine for a date/time field I am using, but does not work for the "Location" field. I am using the OOTB "Location" field from the "Core Contact and Calendar Columns" group. Ev

Set Contact selector rules in InfoPath when using DIP from SharePoint

Hi,

I created a custom content type of type document in WSS 3.0. I created column called "person" of type "People or Group ". So when I create a new document in SharePoint, there is a contact selector (people picker) in document information panel . But I would like to use InfoPath to edit the contact selector in this way: When a person is picked in the contact selector, another field (also custom column from my content type) will be changed according to the person I picked. I hope it is clear :-)

But in InfoPath when I right click the contact selector, there is no Rules... option, even no Data validation option etc.

What can I do?

Thanks for any suggestions.

SharePoint field type "hyperlink or picture"

Hi,

I am making a workflow which creates a task for a user.
When the task is created I want to insert an URL into a custom column in the task list of the field type "hyperlink or picture".
I have managed this through the following code in my createTask activity:

        private void CreateMyTask(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
              ...
              myTaskProperties.ExtendedProperties.Add("CustomLink", "http://mycustomsitelink.com/somelink");
        }

The only problem is, I can't figure out how to set the display text for this link. It will show the entire link on the screen, and I would like it to show something like "My link" while clicking it would lead you to the URL.

SharePoint 2010 External Content Type and InfoPath 2010 - Numeric data type fields missing in InfoPa

Connected SQL data table to SP 2010 ECT from SQL table.  The SQL table has several fields that have a type of "numeric(3,0)".  The SP 2010 list shows all fields form SQL.  When we open up InfoPath Designer and reference the SP List data (from SQL) all of our numer fields are missing from the available fields list.

I amd going to try another data type but that hardly feels like a solution.  If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

Naming a SharePoint Column Differently Than the InfoPath Field Name

Hi,

I have built a project intake form in InfoPath and am submitting it to SharePoint.  Part of the form uses the Person/Group Picker control.  I wish to publish that field to SharePoint upon form submission.  However, the column title is "Display Name."  Is there anyway I can change the name of that?  I tried editing the list in SharePoint and that field is not editable.  I also tried renaming the field in InfoPath, but it is part of the Person/Group Picker control, is a locked field, and will not let me change the InfoPath given name.  I also looked at changing the name of the field during the publishing wizard process, but it will not let me do so there either.

Am I just stuck with that name if I want to use the Person/Group Picker control?

I am using InfoPath Designer 2010 and I believe SharePoint 2010 (although it may be MOSS 2007).

Thanks!
-Nick
