Reporting Subscription - dynamic To depending on dynamic input parameter

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 19, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

Hi,

SSRS : 2005

Deployed: A Simple RDL with a single input parameter(for simplicity say the parameter is City).

The requirement is to send the report to Mayor of each city.  I already have a table with following info.

CityName

MayorEmailID

Subject

> Report should run at a static schedule and send reports to each mayor with their City. Currently using regular subscriptions.. which means 50 subscriptions for fifty different cities.

Every time a new city comes, automatic subscription to the Mayor Email ID. Email should not be sent if the there is no data for the city on that particular day.

Dynamic Sql depending on parameter values

Hello,

I have only just started to use Reporting Servcies and would like to know is there any way of putting IF statments into the SQL statment depending on the value of a selected parameter.

="select code, cid, name + '(' + code + ')' as ShopName, qty, val, salesdate from shops" &
" inner join sal_sumdaily on code = shopcode inner join calendar on salesdate between weekstart and weekend" &
" where trading = 0 and shopclosed = 0 and cid = " & Parameters!RP_CID.Value & "" &
" and l4l = " & Parameters!RP_L4L.Value & "" &
" and newarea = " & Parameters!RP_Area.Value & "" &
" order by code"

What I would like to do is when "Parameter!RP_Area.value" = 99 then miss that part of the sql statment out, something like this.

" and l4l = " & Parameters!

In a SQL2005 Reporting Subscription I need to revert the parameter back to the default value "overri

Hi, In a SQL2005 Reporting Subscription I need to revert the parameter back to the default value "override-default." This value was updated to a specific value and now I am unable to have the report updated daily with the new data.  Within Report Manager, drill into the specific report, click on the properites tab, and chose the second link on the left "Parameters."  For the value in question (DataID) someone unchecked the "Has Defalult" button.  This results in the "Use Default" check box being removed from the UI in the Subscription tab.  I can get the Use Defalut box back by entering a specific value in the 'defalut value' but the report runs against that one value (instead of updating daily.) Before the "Has Defalult" was unchecked, the Defalut Value is a buttton, which says "Override Defalut."  It is this 'button' that I am trying to get back. I've googled this and looked thru MS kb without luck.  (I think it maybe a matter of using the right language...) Thank you for your reply.   Victoria

dynamic text input with jquery

I have the following problem.I created a new jquery script (jquery.wim.dragtable.js).

This script allows for dragndrop columns and rows..

Now this script generates 2 hidden input boxes.

f.i.

if ($("#" + dragObject + "_SortRow").length == 0)
                 $("body").append("<input id='" + dragObject + "_SortRow' type='hidden' />");

and

if ($("#" + dragObject + "_SortCol").length == 0)
                $("#form1").append("<input id='" + dragObject + "_SortCol' type='hidden' />");

Notice the last one is append to the form on the page.

My question is: How can i retrieve the content of the input (id="wim_drag_col_object_SortCol");
When i use request.Form i only get the "hard-coded" elements from my page. (Viewstate, EventValidation, and Button1).
But the dynamically added wim_drag_col_object_SortCol can't be found.

Dynamic change home link in reporting services

I have a site setup to use forms authentication, when a user logs in I want it to go to a specific folder for that user. I am able to do this by changing where the site gets redirected to by using appending ?ItemPath=/FolderName at the end of the path. There is a link that says home in the upper part of the page, I would like this to also reflect the default folder for this user. Is it possible to change this? I do not want to hide it in the CSS as it makes navigation a little more difficult as the user will have the ability to create separate folders inside of the folder. I am using SQL 2008 r2.

pass a dynamic parameter in a WCF method on HTTP GET

i have a WCF method with 2 known parameters and another one thats supposed to include a Key:Value pairs (dynamic parameter that will include an unknown number of key:value pairs).

the first question is :

i don't want to use XML as the dynamic parameter. what is the common way to pass the dynamic parameter in a WCF method? Dictionary<string,String>? json string? array of complex types? or other? ( my client - the one that uses my service, doesn't have Framework 3.5, so i suggested a framework 2.0 ways to send the parameter)

the second question :

the method  supports HTTP GET , should a dynamic parameter be passed in the URL itself or in the Header? i prefer the URL itself....

thank guys, please help ....

dynamic fields added/removed depending on user selection

Hi,

Is it possible to dynamically add/remove fields upon creating an item in a list?

For example:
If user selects from drop down list and chooses "Booked"

and a date field name "Booked Date" will dynamically pop up underneath.

And if user selects a different choice, the date field will dissapear.

Can someone point me to anything that can be of help?

I searched around and noticed that this can be achieved via javascript using the ows.js object model?

Thank you for your help.

SSRS 2008 dynamic change to report parameter properties

I'm running SSRS 2008, and I'm wondering if it is possible to change a report parameter property based on user input in another report parameter.  What I need to do is to make report parameter #2 a required parameter if a specific value is selected in parameter #1.  Parameter #2 should be optional under all other scenario.

Thanks in advance.

Multi-Value Parameter Dynamic MDX Syntax

I have the following SSRS MDX working with single-value parameters (Note the StrToMember() function calls below).  I need to write a similar SSRS report which has a multi-value parameter which will replace the TopCount([Dim Developer]...) below.  I'm uncertain how to write similar syntax for multi-value parameters.

WITH
SET [Top 10 Developers] AS TopCount({Filter(Filter([Dim Developer].[Developer Id].Children,
                                [Dim Developer].[Tracked].[Tracked].&[Actively Tracked]),
                         [Dim Division].[Hierarchy].[Country].&[No Country])},
                     10, [Measures].[3 Year Total])
SET [Rest of Developers] AS {Except(Filter(Filter([Dim Developer].[Developer Id].Children,
                                [Dim Developer].[Tracked].[Tracked].&

Get input for linq query from dynamic checkboxlist

Hello All,

I have a question, I have a dynamicly filled checkbox list which is filled by a SQL datasource.

That works fine, users can select multiple items in the checkboxlist. Further more there are several textboxes which the user can fill in.

Based up on the items checked and the data in the textboxes a Linq query should be fired, can anyone tell me how I can build the query based on the selected items (should be a loop i guess) and the filled textboxes?

Thanks in advance,

Peter

Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.NET GridView Control with TextBoxes and with Delete functionality

In my previous examples, I have demonstrated on how to add dynamic rows in GridView control with TextBoxes and how to save the values into the database. Now, seems that most of the developers are asking if how to add a delete functionality with it. So in this example, I'm going to show on how to delete a certain row in the dynamic GridView with TextBoxes.

Dynamic Data Templates in GridView ASP.NET 3.5

At a high level, Dynamic Data Templates can be seen as a system to very quickly build up a User Interface linked with the relevant data model, immediately enabling you to perform CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) on the database using the specified data source. They provide a powerful method for building up these kinds of applications, and I'm going to focus on an overview of what Dynamic Data Templates actually are, and a few ways of customizing them to suit industry needs.

ASP.NET 4.0 Dynamic Data and Many to Many Entity Framework Entities

I did not play much with Dynamic Data controls in VS2008 and just made a cool discovery in VS2010 Beta 2. This may not even be new, but as I'm sitting 30,000+ feet over the Atlantic ocean, I don't have access to VS2008 at the moment to check.

Dynamic Systems Development Model (DSDM) Methodology

The Dynamic Systems Development Model was developed in the U.K. in the mid-1990s. It is the evolution of rapid application development (RAD) practices. DSDM boasts the best-supported training and documentation of any of the agile software development techniques, at least in Europe. DSDM favors the philosophy that nothing is built perfectly the first time and looks to software development as an exploratory endeavor.
