Sharepoint 2010 DBs Installed on SQL 2008 r2 With Compatibility Level of 90

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 19, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

We installed Sharepoint 2010 using SQL 2008 r2 and had most databases install with a compatibility level of 100.  However two of the databases relating to User Profile Service SynchBD installed with a compatiblity level of 90.  Why would the Sharepoint install do that?  thx!

Cannot add SQL Server 2008 R2 Report items to SharePoint Server 2010 document library

Using account which is the primary parent site administrator, can upload RDS and RDL files to the document library (however, cannot open report). User is also a domain admin with SA on the database instances. Cannot add Report Data Source with "New Document" icon. The permissions granted to user '[domain]\[user]' are insufficient for performing this operation. Under "Site Settings", "Managed Shared Schedules" fails with same error. Attempting to deploy from BIDS results in the same permissions error. Sharepoint Server 2010, Report Server 2008 R2. RS and SP databases hosted on remote server (SQL Server 2008 R2). All connections (SharePoint services, RS services, users) except SQLAgent authenticating to remote SQL Server with Kerberos (all SPNs look correct). Single site, site collection "/". Document directory called "Reports". Windows Integrated Security (Negotiate). How would I troubleshoot/solve problem?

Upgrading to SharePoint 2010 Foundation on SBS Server 2008

Hi all, I've just tried to install SharePoint Foundation on 2010 on Windows Small Business Server 2008 and whilst the literature I've found suggests that this is supported, I receive the following error: SharePoint 2010 Products cannot be installed in Stand-alone mode on a Domain Controller.  For more information on upgrading, see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=975805. What's funny about the KB ID, is that it doesn't exist.  The pre-requisites for SharePoint 2010 Foundation installed OK and the SharePoint installer has detected that it will perform an in-place upgrade.  the STSADM -o preupgradecheck output is below. Any idea's?  It would be really great if we could start using the shared workspace and ribbon features that are inherent with SPF2010. Jason.

HTTP 500 After Sharepoint 2010 Install on Win 2008 R2

Environment specifics: Windows 2008 R2 SQL 2008 (Version: 10.0.2746.0) No internet connection so I installed all the prerequisite software. I have two domain accounts: SPAdmin and SPFarm SPAdmin is what I use to install Sharepoint. SPFarm runs the app pool, timer service etc. Domain: Development domain. Scenario: After the SP Setup Wizard, Central admin is inaccessible and gives a HTTP 500 error. I checked the recommended permissions for both accounts and they both appear to be in the correct groups. The only way I can get it to work is to add the SPFarm account as a local admin. So it appears to be a permissions issue. But I can't figure out what the issue is or even where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can WEBDAV be disabled in Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows Server 2008 R2?

Hello, we had some issues with WEBDAV use with Sharepoint 2010 placed behind WEBSeal proxies. We decided to only use FPSE (front page server extensions) for an external access to this portal. I cannot find a way, how to disable WEBDAV, or how to force clients to only use FPSE with this portal. It is fair, to say, that we would like to make such configuration on a server side, rather then configure client computers. We are running Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows Server 2008R2 server (i.e. IIS 7.5) thank you in advance for help/ideas Roman Cernovsky

Migrate from SPS 3.0 to SharePoint Foundation 2010 on SBS 2008

Good news is a white paper and technet article came out on how to do this.  Bad news is that it had a significant error, and when I downloaded to follow, it was the day before the correction. I have finished the migration almost, but there are some issues that manifest itself on IIS and in trying to attach the saved configuration database. When I launch SPF Management Console, I get a warning message that"the security token service is not available." I also get two application event log postings, the first an error and the second right after a warning as follows: Event ID 8306 Category Claims Authentication.   Description: An exception occurred when trying to issue security token: Could not connect to http://localhost:32843/SecurityTokenServiceApplication/securitytoken.svc . TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it . Windows Sharepoint Foundation 2010 - Document Library Settings with Reporting Services 2008 R2 in in

I have a client who has recently upgraded their SharePoint system to Windows Sharepoint Foundation 2010 with Reporting Services 2008 R2 in integrated mode. I have configured reporting services and am able to deploy reports to SharePoint. The client created a document library before the upgrade to WSF 2010. I need to add Report Builder 3.0 to the New Document menu and found the following article. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326289.aspx "Allow management of content types?" is set to yes under the advanced document library settings. The problem is that when I try to "add from existing site content types" the reporting services content types are not in the list. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Monitoring and moving SharePoint foundation 2010 database on SBS 2008

I have successfully followed the white paper for upgrading SharePoint Services 3.0 to SharePoint Foundation 2010. Other than an authentication link problem all went smoothly.

I do have two small problems. The Small Business Server console reports that SharePoint is not functioning (it is functioning as I can connect to the site), this is more a nussance as my daily reports are inaccurate and I hope if this is normal there is or will be a hotfix to repair the reporting. This also comes to the second more serious problem.

In upgrading the process moved the database from it's own drive back to the system drive. I should have payed more attention to the directories in the upgrade process. Live and learn. Since the reporting is wrong in the console the move database wizard also does not work. Knowing that SBS gets cranky when things aren't done with a wizard or in a super specific order, is there a proper way to move the database? I am beging to get the long list of warnings as the drive fills up.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Equivalent of Solution generator 2008 in SharePoint 2010

Hi all,

How to enable Word 2010 to save to one of the document libraries on a newly installed Sharepoint Ser

I have a newly installed Sharepoint Server 2010 (say, http://spserver/) somewhere on our LAN on Windows Server 2008 R2. And I am working with Word 2010 on my Windows 7 machine. I have created a Document library somewhere in a subsite of the Sharepoint server (say, http://spserver/subsite/doclibrary)

Now, working with Word 2010 I want to simply save the document that I'm working into that document library Doclibrary. I go to Word 2010 backstage... and can't find anything there.

1) Save As? It only shows my file system...

2) Save & Send? I see there Save to Sharepoint. But Browse for Location button gives me nothing. If I press Save As here, I just get my file system again.

What should I configure on Sharepoint server or in my machine, so that I can save to my doclibrary with as few clicks as possible, just like I always did with my local file system.

Moving SharePoint 2010 Databases to from SQL 2008 to a new SQL 2008 cluster

Hello All,

I need to find the BEST way to move SharePoint 2010 databases from SQL 2008 to a new SQL 2008 cluster. I have searched the net and found that MS has a technet article to move the database http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc512725.aspx and other Blogs that suggest using SQL aliases: http://stsadm.blogspot.com/2008/06/moving-databases-easy-way.html

My current delpoyment is currenlty undergoing development and not yet deployed to the public, and I am leaning toward creating a new farm and have SharePoint taking care of creating the many databases, then attach the content database to the web application.

I need the feedback from the forum to which approach is the BEST for my scenario, since my deployment is not yet public. Also, I would like to know if anyone has tried the steps described in MS Technet article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc512725.aspx .

Microsoft Office 2010 compatibility with SharePoint 2007

Can anyone asssist with subject?

We are running our intranet on MOSS 2007 and office 2003

we want to upgrade/replace our current Office suite 2003 to MS office 2010 - are there know issues regarding the compatibility with MOSS 2007 ?

sharepoint 2010 compatibility with Office 2007

I want to use sharepoint 2010 but use office 2007 along with this for all operations in moss 2010 like excel services, document management also exploit the features available in sharepoint 2010. Is it possible or compatibility issues occur?
I know SPD 2010 is required as SPD 2007 cannot be used to open the 2010 sites.

Page/url level authorization in SharePoint 2010?

Does SharePoint support authorization on page/url level? Can I allow user with certain permission/group to see a certain page/url and prevent others from accessing the same page/url?

AAM Problem with SSRS 2008 R2 and Sharepoint 2010

I have a single server farm with Sharepoint 2010 and SQL 2008 R2 installed. I have an extranet zone configured - and this is working fine from the internet via a Forefront TMG box.  All features in the farm, including Performance Point pieces (reports/dashboards etc) are working fine via the extranet zone except for Reporting Services reports (these are working fine in the internal/default zone).  I can see the report library, and the individual report items via the extranet, but when I try to view a report, I get this:

" The Web application at https://extranet.company.asia/client/Report Library/Spend by Media Owner.rdl could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application."

My understanding is that multiple zones are now supported in Sharepoint 2010/SSRS 2008 integrations, and that AAM should propagate automatically (?).  Can anyone assist in helping me understand where to look next?

many thanks,
