Sharepoint Designer 2007 Problem

I have sharepoint designer 2007 workflow

in which document owner upload documents and select perticular users for reviewing, 

i used column name if he select that user then yes and store that user in variable. same for all user. so i got all users in variables (whoever is selected) . Now problem is that i want to collect data from selected users at a time so how can i used that variable to collecting data.

'coz collect data only take one user. and variable concatenate is not possible in sharepoint designer 2007 workflow . so how can i collect data from all selected users at same time.

help me with this.

Problem with SharePoint Designer 2007 and Custom List Forms

  

I created several forms (Create/Edit/View) for a SharePoint list, using Custom List Forms.  I'm using Content Types in the list to ensure that each item only has the necessary fields.  When I created the ASPX forms, and inserted the Custom List Forms, I selected the correct Content Type, and I got the right fields inserted in the form.

Now, for some reason I can't identify, every time I create a new form, and insert a Custom List Form, SPD is bringing ALL fields from the list, instead of just bringing the fields included in the selected Content Type.

I have tried many different things to solve the problem, including creating new lists/content types/forms, etc. but SPD is doing the same thing all the time.

Can somebody tell me what may have gone wrong in SPD or MOSS?

Trying to send email using Sharepoint Designer 2007 workflow and email enabled list

  

I have a a list that recieves email. I have few fields that shows me the originator: "E-Mail From" and "E-Mail Sender".

I am trying to create a workflow that will generate an auto reply to the originator but the SPD fails to recognize the email address in these two fields. It's either truncating part of it or uses the html ( href=mailto:Demo@DemoSomething.com) in the To field.

Sharepoint 2007 Email problem

  

I've used Sharepoint 2007 to create my website. Within my web pages I've included Forms in order to capture people's contact details, so that when they 'Submit' the form their details are emailed to my email account. The problem is that when I go to Form Properties and insert the email address to which I want the data sent, I receive this message: "This form cannot be configured to send results via email. The web site may be based at a disk-based location, or a location that has not been configured to send email. Contact your system admin or ISP for more info. Would you like to remove the email recipient Yes or No"   

I am satisfied that the settings within the webhosting service are correct. Is this functionality available with Sharepoint 2007 or do I need to switch to alternative software.

How to Establish a Remote Web Site Connection in SharePoint Designer 2007

  

I am modifying a SharePoint site and so far so good.  Some of the objects were created using Visual Studio 2008 (C#).  I was able to modify these objects and implement them on the targete machine without issue.  The final step is to implement the ASPX pages that were modified using SharePoint Designer 2007.  These are aspx pages that are used to modify items in lists.  All the pages involved in this upgrade are customized.  I need to upgrade the target site with the modified version of these pages.  My intent is to copy the code from the page in the source site and past it into the same page on the target site.  I tried using the Remote Web Site connection tool in SharePoint Designer 2007 but received the following error message:

"Unable to open 'https://(site address)'.  Server Error:  Could not find a Web server at 'website'.  Please check to make sure that the Web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly.  If you are sure that everything is correct, the Web server may be temporarily out of service."

I am not sure how to first check to see if the Web Server is temporarily out of service.  I would appreciate your input on how to verify this.

Background information of target machine:  WinServer 2008, IIS 7, Sharepoint (MOSS2007), site on port 80

Problem accessing Sharepoint 2007 MySite

  

My users are having an issue accessing their mysites.  When they go to the main portal page or any other site and click the link at the top right of the page to go to their Mysite they are thrown into an endless authentication loop.  If they cancel out of the loop the URL in the address bar is for http://mossserver/_layouts/MySites.aspx

For a user to successfully get to their myself they need to enter the full url like http://mossserver/personal/username/default.aspx

Now, I know somewhat how this happened.  It resulted from me trying to delete a user's mysite and I apparently did it wrong but I'm not sure what I did.  It almost seems like I deleted a redirect page or something...

Looking for any ideas.

Sharepoint 2007 View Problem

  
I have a document library in Sharepoint 2007 in which I have seet up a number of different views so that the users who work with the information in that library can filter down to the specific area that they work with.  The view itself works great, and they are able to see their data quite easily.  The problem comes when they actually go in and edit any of the items.  Unlike most software in the civilized world for the past 30 years, the user is not returned to the view that they were working with, but to the defult view.  This means that any task where they are required to do many edits at a time becomes a frustrating nightmare and waste of time.  Is there any setting I can change, or anything else at all that I can do to give my users a little relief by making the site navigation such that they are returned after an edit to the same view that they were in before the edit?  Ideally, it would be nice if the same scroll position within the view were returned as well, but I suspect that I may be asking for too much by pushing that issue.  HELP! HELP!  Any and all constructive assistance is appreciated.

Problem Integration SQL Reporting Service 2005 and SharePoint 2007

  
Hello, I'm trying to make our SQL Reports available on our SharePoint report center. I have SQL 2005 (sp3) report server that resides on a different server than our SharePoint 2007 server. So in our SRS Configuration Tool, we changed the database mode for SharePoint integration (before, we only had it in native mode), so we created a new database for this SharePoint Integration type. Next, I installed the Report Server Add-in for SharePoint 2007 server and it was successful. However when configuring the Report Server, we got stuck at the step "Grant Database Access". For some reason we keep getting error message "Named instance not found" We already installed Service Pack 3 on the Report Server... I heard that the problem is because the mismatched version between the Report Server Add-in in SharePoint and the SQL RS version... but I don't think this is the case for us. Do we need to install WSS on our Report Server too?     Another question: We already integrate our Report Server with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. However I see that when the Report Server is in the SharePoint Integration mode, all the reports in CRM don't work (because Report Manager is no longer available in this mode). Do you think it would be the best practice to install a copy of Report Server instance in our SharePoint 2007 server? Thank you, greatly appreciate all your hel

Sharepoint 2003 + Windows Terminal Server 2008 + Office 2007 problem?

  
Hi, We have a customer where some users runs Windows Terminal Server 2008 with Office 2007. They open documents from a Sharepoint 2003 site. When they open an excel sheet they get a button in the document which says "Server workbook: Click edit workbook to edit this workbook" and there is a button: "edit workbook" The users clicks "edit workbook" but get an error message saying there is no connection to the server.  They are able to edit the document, but not save it back to the sharepoint site. Most other users work on their local computer with Office 2003. Here, everything works fine and there are no button/message stating its a server workbook.   Is this caused due to some compatability issues between Sharepoint 2003 and Office 2007?   Best regards, Thomas Hansen ErgoGroup AS

Problem With SharePoint Designer 2010 and the Search.asmx Web Service

  
I've created a web service datasource on a 2010 site using SharePoint Designer. When I try to make use of the datasource on a page I get the "The server returned a non-specific error when trying to get data from the data source..." message. The datasource connects to _vti_bin/search.asmx. I am using the QueryServiceSoap port and operation QueryX. Sharepoint Designer Workflow Problem

  
Hy there   I have a question.. I have started with WSS 3.0 and sharepoint designer. My problem is, i have a workflow...first creates a new element in the second list and the second flow starts.. The Problem is , some errors have occured in the log list.   I have multiple errors like this : 8xfr    Verbose     PermissionMask check failed. asking for 0x00000005, have 0x00000000, But i have full permission!   Second error : event handler error Event ID: 6875, i have already tried to repair sharepoint services ..but already the error exists in my loglist.   A Phenomen is , the workflow worked a week ago pretty fine, ..i had made some changes to the tasklist (name)..and so ,..and the workflow wont proceed successfull..after that i created a new website and tried to rebuilt my workflow...nothings changed... Curious is, that i dont get email information, about assigned tasks to my account,...and the "Wait until "... procedure wont work..you can make changes.... the list already stays in the "In process" status.   Hopefully someone has helpfull infos for me   Nice greets   Sascha

Access Denied while using Sharepoint designer 2007 to create a work flow

  
I am using Sharepoint Designer 2007 to create a work flow that sends emails to different people in a group depending on status of a record. For example, when some one reports a problem, an email is posted to concerned person and as soon as he/she checks the problem and updates the status an email is sent to next department and so on. Starting the work flow creation wizard is no problem but as soon as I press 'Finish' to create workflow I get 'Access Denied' message box. Any Ideas? I am using WSS 3.0 on 2003 Server.

SharePoint Designer 2007 Workflow needs to initialize lookup field value and store it

  
This is for a governance tracking list. I have two tables: Roadmap and Roadmap Status In Roadmap, there are two fields of interest that are lookup fields to Roadmap Status:Title they are Status and OldStatus When an item is entered in Roadmap, I want to force the initial Status to "Submit" from Roadmap Status. I don't see any way in my workflow to to lookup that item in Roadmap Status and place the pointer (I'm assuming it is a GUID) into the field. The value is also stored in OldStatus to catch changes as I'm trying to force order of status in a few cases but not all. I'm doing it with a Lookup instead of Choice because the business tends to change the terminology they like and this way I don't change it in several places plus it allows them to change it in the list instead of someone changing the list field values. I've seen several places on the forum where people have a similar problem and Lambert Qin has given an answer but it never fits this scenario exactly. Do I have to go back to Choice columns? I only have Designer and would rather not have to learn another tool for a simple SharePoint implementation. Thanks for any help!

Problem create a web application on SharePoint 2007 (Project Server 2007)

  
I installed a Project Server 2007 in a 3 server structure (all Win 2003 sp2; one for App server hosting Central Admin, Project Server service & Search service; one for web server; one for database server).  They are only in the same domain and I use the same network account for the installation as well as the WSS service account.  The same network are local admin for those 3 servers. All installation & patches seem ok (at least I don't get error messages) until I attempt to create my first Web Application.  After I filled out the web appliction and try to click OK, the page does not change and i saw the java error at the right bottom corner from my IE browser (version 6). The message is .... Sharepoint Designer 2007 Variable Data on a form

  
I am a lifetime COBOL programmer trying to make a new career in a Sharepoint world. I am working on a project where I have created a list of Employees.  Almost all of the employees on the list must update their status on a day-to-day basis. A view was created on this list using [ME] as the search criteria to only return the employee who is updating his own info. With Sharepoint Designer 2007 I created a custom form. I cut and pasted the code for the view that I described above and then created a series of buttons to allow the employee to choose a status. For each button, I built a workflow to do the specific updates to the employee's list line. I was able to set up an onclick event for each button to execute a Javascript function that would go to the webpage and start the workflow.  I got the actual workflow URLs from the Sharepoint Intranet webpage after I completed each one. Here is my problem (and it is probably my inexperience that has got me stumped); The URL that is fed to the Javascript function has a hard-coded number representing the ID field of the Employee list (that is what probably sets the "Current Item" in the workflow.  I can see that the listview from above the buttons has the ID field as one of its Fieldrefs.  How can I substitute some kind of ID variable in the set of parameters that is fed to the Javascript? 

Conditional formatting on a joined subview using SharePoint Designer 2007 does not work

  
I have 2 SharePoint lists, one is a parent task list and the other a child task lists.  In SharePoint Designer 2007 I have created a combined datasource from these 2 lists.  From there I created a new ASPX page inserting the parent list as a dataview and the child as a subview.  So far so good, all is functioning as you would expect.    Now I need to apply conditional formatting to cells and rows in both the parent and child lists.  I can create a very simple condition on a row or cell of the parent list such as "If ID Equals '2988' format the background color as green" but no conditional formatting appears for the row where ID = 2988.  Incidentally, if I change the condition to "not equals 2988" the background changes to green. The line in the code view of Designer appears as follows:  <xsl:if test="../../../Rows/Row/@ID = '2988'">background-color: #00FF00;</xsl:if> I've seen this question asked here and in blogs but never answered.  If anyone has a solution, I would love to know what it is. Thanks; Dave  UPDATE:  it doesn't seem to matter if you add the additional fields as a joined subview or not.  If I add 2 data views, both using the linked data source which is configured to JOIN the contents of the data sources the conditional formatt
