I have a question / issue realated to the installtion of SQL server 2008 R2. I just installed SQL 2008 R2 on a new windows 2008 R2 server. I had no issues during the this straigh forward install. After the install I went to Microsoft website to search for
any latest service packs \ updates that might be available. I noticed that SQL 2008 server has 2 service packs available, (SP1 and SP2) The requirments state that these SP will work with any version of SQL server 2008. In my mind, any flavor would include
SQL server 2008 R2. After downloading the SPs I attempted to install only to receive an error stating that the installer was expecting to see SQL version 10.50.1600.22 when my version is 10.50.1600.1.
So my questions are... Are these service packs applicable to SQL server 2008 r2? are there any service packs available for SQL server 2008 R2?
thanks in advance
