Search does not find text in Word document stored in document library on a Report Center site within

Hello,

We have a document library on a site created off of the Report Center site template. We uploaded a Word 2007 document with the word zebra in the text. Using the search bar at the top of the page we selected This list: Our document library and searched for zebra. We received no results.

We tested the same thing on another site (site template Team site) within the same site collection and search worked fine.

Does the Report Center search function differently then the search functionality on the Team site?

Replace text in a word document stored in a Document Library

Hi to all,

im tying to replace some text introduced in a word document stored in a document library.

Exactly i need a web part with a button that change a key in a word template <list> (for example) and replace <list> with a text in another list.

I think that it would works with the Microsoft.Office.Word.Interop; namespace but when i call the function :

Full text search in a Word document

Hello,

ÃÂ IÃÂ´m currently programming a web search application in ASP.Net and having problem with full text searching. My requirements are:

1. Save a byte array from SQL server to word document as a temp file in a server side?

2. How to highlight the string I am currently searching in the Word document and return to the user the sentence with the highlighted string (like on Bing or any other search engines)? Is it possible to fullfill this requirement with full-text search integrated in SQL Server 2008?

Multiline text field in document library and item update from Word trouble

Hi I have faced a bit of odd problem. Here is the scenario: I have document library with text columns (multiple lines of text) that are set to unlimited length. I have a workflow that runs with Word documents (.docx) that stores information in XML to this field. Everything works perfectly until document is edited in Word and saved back to document library. After Word saves my document in document library, the multiline text field is "cutted", only 7 rows of text is saved to my field. I have tried hiding my text field, making it sealed or readonly, but still Word breaks my field. Funniest thing is that when editing document in Word, this field should not have any changes (meaning that I dont show my "long text field" in document information panel back in Word). I have tried also creating event handler to handle itemupdating event in document library where I switch spweb.parserenabled property to false and in itemupdated event I switch it back on. Also I have tried to remove all line changes from XML with no luck. This XML saving to long text field works perfectly with many other places but in this one environment this does not seem to work :( I am looking forward to any suggestions what to try next. I have been wondering about using the eventhandlers and trying to "protect" my text field with some logic but that is still just a thought. T

how to merge contents of a form library and picture library into a report (word or pdf) document

Hi all I want to generate a report containing data from a form library and pictures from a picture library. Custom search to document library to find specific document

I have a document library with having multiple folders approx 100 (001 to 100) , each folder is having multiple document ,Every folder in that document library contains 50000 documents , Document library has some fileds like Fname, Lname,Document Type [Look up field] having value(Genral,Average,Advance) . now the problem is to search these documents with using custom search as per requirement

the user wants a webpart where it has 2 textbox [FName and LName] and a dropdown [Document type] and a button , using this the user can enter the first name , last name and selecting document type from the dropdown and finally clicking the search button filters the document library.

my problem is with that how the value of this search criteria can be passed to the Document library.How these webpart can be connected with custom search or do we have any other way to search.

Error adding a document library to a site

Hi,

I am receiving the error "Cannot complete this action. Please try again" when trying to add a document library to one of the sites. This is Sharepoint 2007 SP1. I seem to be able to do it thru designer but not the web interface.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Replace Text in textbox in word document using interop and asp.net

Hi all, I'm trying to create a function to replace fields in a word document using asp.net. The fields are marked in the document using ###field### and I need to replace them with the data from the DB. The code I have works fine for the body of the word document but doesn't appear to work if the text is contained within a textbox, is there a way to correct this? Cannot add SQL Server 2008 R2 Report items to SharePoint Server 2010 document library

Using account which is the primary parent site administrator, can upload RDS and RDL files to the document library (however, cannot open report). User is also a domain admin with SA on the database instances. Cannot add Report Data Source with "New Document" icon. The permissions granted to user '[domain]\[user]' are insufficient for performing this operation. Under "Site Settings", "Managed Shared Schedules" fails with same error. Attempting to deploy from BIDS results in the same permissions error. Sharepoint Server 2010, Report Server 2008 R2. RS and SP databases hosted on remote server (SQL Server 2008 R2). All connections (SharePoint services, RS services, users) except SQLAgent authenticating to remote SQL Server with Kerberos (all SPNs look correct). Single site, site collection "/". Document directory called "Reports". Windows Integrated Security (Negotiate). How would I troubleshoot/solve problem?

Unable to create columns in document library after applying custom master page to site

Hi, I have applied a custom master page to a site.There is a document library in it. I am unable to add columns in it or change the default view.Nothing happens when I click on OK butoon after making my changes. However the columns are created/default view is changed when I apply the default master page. Guess I am missing some TagPrefix or sharepoint control on master page.I had solved this problem earlier in this way but don't remeber it now. Can anyone help?

New Document Library in a subsite is inheriting permissions from wrong site

I have a site collection (using the out-of-the-box Business Intelligence site template) called "BI Home". A couple weeks ago I created a bunch of subsites (Finance, Regulatory, Marketing, etc.) all using the BI site template, and then created a Document Library called "Reports" in each one of those subsites. Those are all working as expected. Yesterday I needed to create a new subsite (again, a BI site just off the root site collection) called "Operations". I created the subsite, and then created the "Reports" document library underneath it. When I went to modify the permissions of the new document library (located here: /Operations/Reports), it said it was inheriting permissions from it's parent: "BI Home". Why would this be? Shouldn't the parent be "Operations" ?? All my other sites' "Reports" folders are inheriting permission from their respective parent, but any new sites I create seem to have this issue. Converting Word Documents library to PDF document library in SharePoint Server 2007

My project requires me to create an event reciever such that when a word file is added to one library the same content pdf file should be added to other library also when a word file is updated,edited or checked in the respective pdf file in other document library should be replaced by a new pdf file with the edited word content . How can I get search to work for a Custom Document Library with a few third-party field types?

Hi, Using WSS 3.0 with SQL Server 2008 for Workgroups I have created a Custom Document Library (2,462 files - copied from folder into Explorer view and then renamed using Batch Update in web services i.e. "BaseName" field) - basically it uses three fields that are of "Filtered Lookup" (a field type from a third party). The document library is included in the search (i.e. Advanced Settings), but it displays none of the files - bascially not included in search at all with all testing I have done. I created a new Document Library called "Test" and uploaded a document and it is included in the search. Is there any way I can debug this. Is there a log file? Is there something in the Search Database that might help? Your help would be really appreciated as this is my last issue - and its soooo important to the deliverable. Thanks. John.
