SMTP not working if I use web deployment package to deploy my app.

Hi all

I use msdeploy to install my web app. deployment package. everything about web app works, but find out email was not working.

I checked telnet smtp is running.

I debug the project, and it was sending out email too.

So my solution was upload the whole project (not complied) to wwwroot, and email works too. Thats why I assume the deployment cause the problem.

at last, I also tried to copy the web deployment web.config to replace the project's web.config, and the email also work, so it wasn't the web.config problem.

Could anyone tell me whats going on?

My environment:

window 2003

iis 6

.net framework 4.0

What does strategy exist to deploy SSIS package and my own data flow components into a enterparise s

I created a SSIS package and several data flow componenets for this package.    What does strategy exist to deploy SSIS package and data flow components into a enterparise server?   Thanks in advance.

SSIS 2K5 - Deploy package with C# - Really Slow

For a DataWareHouse project, I did an WIX  install manager to Create à DataWareHouse, Deploy SSIS package and Deploy a OLAP cube.

When It come to deploy (load) dtsx package, it takes about 40-60 secondes to load each package (I have around 50 packages so its really too long)

This is the code i'm using :

	    DirectoryInfo di = new DirectoryInfo(session["INSTALLLOCATION"] + @"Sources");
        FileInfo[] rgFiles = di.GetFiles("*.dtsx");
        Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Application app = new Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Application();
        foreach (FileInfo fi in rgFiles)
          string pkg = session["INSTALLLOCATION"] + @"Sources\" + fi.Name + "";
 		 Package p = app.LoadPackage(pkg, null); //THIS TAKE 40-60 SECONDE TO EXECUTE

dtutil won't deploy my package, "error 0xc0011008 loading from XML"

My package runs fine on the dev server with remote database.  SSMS deploys it to the msdb on the remote server, no problem, and it runs there with no problem.

But when I try to use dtutil from the command line to deploy it from a local .dtsx file to the remote server, I get the following message:

Microsoft (R) SQL Server SSIS Package Utilities

Version 9.00.1399.06 for 32-bit

Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1984-2004. All rights reserved.

Could not load package "foo.dtsx" because of error 0xC0011008.

Description: The package failed to load due to error 0xC0011008 "Error loading from XML. No further detailed error information can be specified for this problem because no Events object was passed where detailed error information can be stored.". This occurs when CPackage::LoadFromXML fails.

Dev system is using Visual Studio 2008 and BI Studio R2, database server is SQl 2008 but not R2.

I don't think that matters.

What might matter is that I have embedded spaces in the file names and package names - just renaming the file didn't seem to help, I think I'll try renaming the package, for lack of any better idea to try.

Or, could it be a 32bit/64bit thing?  I'm not sure who is 32bit and who is 64bits, actually.

SSIS 2K5 - Deploy SSIS Package with C# - Error File cannot be found

I made a installer program in C# that deploy ssis package on a SQL server 2005. I have like 50 package that contain only dataflow to update a datawarehouse and create fact tables.

I made also one package that call all the other packages. When I try to deploy the packages on the SQL server with the command SaveToDtsServer, I receive an error BUT only on the package calling all the other SSIS package ?? All the other SSIS packages are deployed but the package that call other packages failed to deploy. Whats strange is that when I use the domain controler to deploy the package (I use Impersonation in my C# code) its all working fine, but if I use another user (like the computer admin account), I got the error only on the package calling other packages ???

Can anyone help me on that ? I really don't know whats happening ?

The error that i have is : The file can't be found. But like I said, when using the domain controler user for impersonation, its working ???

    imp = new Impersonation(session["DBMASTER"], session["DBMASTER_PWD"]);

Problem in production server replica (Deploy WSP package)

 I have the following problem:

 I have a Production Sharepoint 2010 server who has a VS2010 solution and other customizations.
 To create a replica server (development server) I need two things (i guess):

 1.  Replicate customizations
 2.  Deploy WSP Package

 For 1, I took the database and raised it in the development server (and i set up content database).

 The problem happens in the point 2. When I need to do deploy, it says that the application already exists (I believe that it is a product of database migration)

 I remove and deploy again and the same problem.

 That can be?

Note: I don't speak english, but i try :P

Problems posting to a package

Hey Y'all

I'm currently creating a program that accesses a mysql package to add data to a few tables.  I'm currently getting an error that says  "

ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06512: at "JESSE.PKG_WORKPLAN", line 42
ORA-06512: at "JESSE.PKG_WORKPLAN", line 177
ORA-06512: at line 1

These lines are

and 177:add_team_members(V_PROJECT_ID, V_START_DATE, v_FISC_YEAR, V_MEMBERS ,V_NUM_MEMBERS,'add');

Checking these variables in my asp.net page they are all receiving parameters.

Is there a  way to see what the database is actually receiving from the asp.net page?

Or is there another thing to be looking at?

Office 2003: Secure and Deploy Business Solutions with Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office

Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System is a new technology that brings the advanced features of Visual Studio .NET and the .NET Framework to applications built for Microsoft Office Word 2003 and Microsoft Office Excel 2003. Deploying solutions built with this technology requires that you understand how runtime security is enforced in managed applications and how to configure users' systems to run your solutions without introducing security holes.To promote that understanding, this article will demonstrate how to establish trust, explain policy considerations and permissions, and explain what trusted code is all about. Secure assembly deployment is also covered in detail.

How to create WSP or Package for workflow in Share Point 2007?

I am working on SharePoint 2007. I have created 2 List called "Config List" (this is a list) and "Vacation Form" (this is form library & form designed in infopath). I have also created a workflow on form library "Vacation Form" in Share Point Designer 2007.

With the use of this workflow I am creating some task and updating "Vacation Form".

Now I want to deploy these three thing (Config List, Vacation Form & workflow) on other server.

How do I create a package or WSP file to install these things on different server.

The language-neutral solution package was not found.

Hope I might be able to find some help on this one...

I developed a simple web part which posts HTML form contents to a SharePoint list - on first deploy, it worked fine, using the Web Part project base from VSeWSS 1.1, but after deployment, I noticed I fat fingered a url for redirection, and went back in to change it. Now, on deployment I get the following error:

ContactUsForm -> C:\Visual Studio 2005 Projects\ContactUsForm\ContactUsForm\bin\Release\ContactUsForm.dll

------ Deploy started: Project: ContactUsForm, Configuration: Release Any CPU ------

VseWss is really the right tool to deploy with yet ?

I think VseWss has long way to go it is not ready to be used because it should first follow the architecture of SharePoint to be good deployment too for example :

you can create list definition using the template provided for that list definition you can create list instance in SharePoint when you create list this later reference its list template using feature ID the problem is that vsewss change the feature ID all the time what happens is that when you uninstall solution and deploy the wsp if you had list this later will complain that it could not found the list template feature actually this list is referring  to the old feature ID the same feature had been deployed with new feature ID.

Another drawback that I think is in the fixing phase is the impossibility of using feature properties such as ActivateOnDefault, scope, etc. Because the feature files is overwritten dynamically every time you deploy.

Deploy a .NET application on the ttarget machine

Hi all, I have a project, is written in C#, using .Net framework 3.5. When I build a setup installer, capacity of the setup is about 10MB. In this case, users ought to download a .rar file , which have more 200MB over the internet. It is very heavy :( So, I want to find out the best solution to deploy .NEt application to the client 's PC. Anybody help me,please ? Thanks so much!
