Internet Explorer warning message pops up when switching between folders in a Sharepoint portal

Users can access a Sharepoint project portal through a citrix solution that my company is hosting. We use Powerfuse for administration purposes. Whenever a uses switches between the various folders on the Sharepoint portal the user is prompted with a "When you send information to the Trusted sites, it might be possible for others to see that information. Do you want
to continue? .... In the future do not show this message). The Checkbox "In the future do not show this message" is even checked but unless you press Yes, nothing goes.

The sharepoint portal is added to the trusted sites and I have also enabled several registry edits to try to remove the prompt. Among the changes I did was changing the 1601 value in the zones folder og the Internet explorer registry keys. When switching between the top layer folders you never get the warning message, but when you go one lever deeper in the hierarchy or switch between subfolders the warning prompts the user at every turn.

Let me know if there is any other information that I can provide!

Can Sharepoint 2010 be accessed by internal users via the Internet (i.e. like a portal)

I am trying to figure out the best way to make a Sharepoint 2010 site available to company employees (i.e. with AD credentials), via the Internet. I am not interested in the kind of internet-facing use of Sharepoint that many seem to be asking about, where it is for a public site accessible to the general public or anonymous users.

Rather, this would be more like the Remote Web Workplace feature found in Small Business Server or Essential Business Server, where a web page is published to the internet that only has username and password fields. Upon logging in with AD credentials, the user sees the same Sharepoint home page they would have otherwise seen within the Lan if the were onsite (like Companyweb in Small Business Server).

Any suggestions or references to information about this scenario would be helpful in having my client decide whether they will purchase the product.

SharePoint Portal Server 2001: Search and Access Disparate Data Repositories in Your Enterprise

The knowledge worker is greatly empowered if she is able to access information across the enterprise from a central access point. With the SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Search Service you can catalogue information stored in Exchange public folders, on the Web, in the file system, and even in Lotus Notes databases. This article discusses the use of ActiveX Data Objects and the Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning protocol for creating search solutions based on SharePoint Portal Server 2001.

SharePoint: SharePoint Portal Server Makes Your Intranet More Manageable and Easier to Navigate

Most large organizations have mounds of disjointed information in a variety of formats spread out across an enterprise. To make the most efficient use of that information, it must be readily accessible, easy to identify, and simple to navigate. SharePoint Portal Server 2001 unifies information by allowing members of any organization to create, share, and publish documents from a single access point. This article covers the services in SPS that can help an organization improve workflow and information management.

Session login sharepoint

Hi all,

Anybody knows how we can create a custom session when user login to sharepoint site (intranet)?

When a user login, I want to show some disclaimer where the user can choose yes or no.

If yes, it will create 1 session to make the disclaimer box only showed up once for every login.

Can I achieve this without using custom control?

Thank you all

Best regards,

Running multiple websites in Sharepoint 2007 with AX2009 Enterprise Portal

I need to setup two separate webshops with public access and different layouts using AX2009 Enterprise Portal.

However I am uncertain how to implement two completely different layouts/designs because the Sharepoint Templates are located inside the 12 hive and not seperate for each website.

Can anybody give me some hints on how to do this - and if so, which requirements I have to meet (VSS 3.0 or MOSS Standard / Enterprise) in order to do it.

I am speculating whether I need to setup two separate web-servers with each own Sharepoint installation (and Business Connector Proxy)

Thanks in advance

Publish Sharepoint Foundation Server to Internet

Hi guys, first of all I don't want exactly to publish SPF server to Internet, but place it in DMZ and make available from Internet. So I won't have any dedicated web server, only one server with MSSQL and SPF on it. Is there any practices to make it more secure? So far I'm only came up with form authentication... Any ideas or links are highly appreciated!

Powerpoint ppsx files open as read only in sharepoint with not option to edit

With Powerpoint 20007 in sharepoint(MOSS 2007) the PPSX files are opening in read only mode with no option to edit to be found. 2nd issue is ppsx files do not open on any persons computer as a show.  Is it possible to change this? How do I change this so I can edit the slides? Current "bad" solution is to save to local drive than upload them over the location  on sharepoint. Creating and sharing new sharepoint site to internet, limiting user access

I am a new hire into an existing business as I.T. I know the networking, I know the computers. The owner now wants me to learn Sharepoint among some other things. They currently use WSS 3.0. I have been reading up on this for the last month. I think I am ready to extend the current site to make it an Internet site so the employees can login. Some other things we would like to do I have read up on and it looks like they can be done, things such as inventory tracking in collaboration with QuickBooks and creating a website / portal for clients to have a unique login on and can see the status of their jobs in custom SharePoint lists. As far as I can tell the clients need an AD account. However, apart from that I am not sure what to do. A little background.  The company has multiple clients, and we ship things out daily to those clients.  We use Sharepoint to track the status of the jobs as they progress through the stages ultimately going to delivery. There is one common page that lists all the jobs by all clients that is updated constantly. We would like to allow multiple (different) clients/logins and have a page customized for each client.  For example, you are a client and go to www.companyname.com/sharepointsite.html.  From there you would get to a portal page with a login. Once logged in you will be presented with the Shar

SharePoint 2010 AD FS 2.0 Integration - login works then fails, looping back to the adfs server

Hello, I setup SharePoint 2010 Claims auth with AD FS 2.0 following this post: http://blogs.technet.com/b/speschka/archive/2010/07/30/configuring-sharepoint-2010-and-adfs-v2-end-to-end.aspx.  I have no access to the ADFS server, but I think they followed the steps as outlined.  If I do an iisreset (or just recycle the app pool of the SharePoint site) I can login successfully using the remote credentials.  Also I can under security in SharePoint search for and find users and roles from the remote ADFS server. If I close my browser, open a new browser and go to the site I am prompted to login again (this is fine).  I do, using the same credentials, and the login fails because I am redirected between the SP and ADFS servers until the ADFS server stops the redirecting.  I have been doing some digging and I found this post: http://blogs.technet.com/b/speschka/archive/2010/08/09/setting-the-login-token-expiration-correctly-for-sharepoint-2010-saml-claims-users.aspx, which describes the situation I have in point # 3 at the bottom.  I have tried setting the token time out as low as 1 second but this hasn't helped. I have also, just to see, tried setting all the other lifetime settings to 1 second - but no luck.  Because the initial login works I think the setup is correct, but something is maintaining some state that is causing the loop
