SSIS 2005 - Send Mail Task - signature appended to email is garbled - unicode problem?

Hi, I'm pretty new to SSIS so go easy on me. I have a Send Mail Task to notify if a file cannot be imported - the mailbody is created on the previous step by a VB.NET script task to include the name of the file and the path it's been archived to. The problem I'm having is that while the body of the email I've created is displaying fine, our company's Exchange server appends a signature to all emails, and this is coming up as undisplayable characters, presumably due to some kind of unicode encoding problem. I've tried casting the email body in an expression to DT_STR (doesn't work as DT_STR "cannot be converted to a supported type" which seems a bit odd but never mind), DT_WSTR (garbled signature), DT_TEXT/DT_NTEXT (strange error on this one - "Attempted to read or write protected memory") none of those ideas worked, and I'm a bit stumped now. Can anyone help? I'm using SSIS 2005 with SP3

Reporting Services 2008 - footer problem when exporting to Word

I have a footer that I want to show up on the last page only.

I use the following expression for the text box under text box properties --> visability

=IIF(Globals!TotalPages = Globals!PageNumber,

False, True)

When I run the report in reporting services, it does only print the footer on the last page.  When exported to Word, footer prints on all pages.

My questions:

1.  Is my expression ignored in Word for the footer, so I will not be able to do this in the footer?

2.  Is there another way to have something print at the bottom of the last page that will be recognized when exported to MS Word (report size will vary based on data returned)?

Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards.

a problem in work with unicode chars in WHERE clause

I'm designing a website for Persian language

I create a stored procedure that contain :

SELECT @sqlstring = ' SELECT TOP ' + CONVERT(nvarchar,@RowCountUser) + ' Stars FROM SpecialAds WHERE REPLACE(REPLACE(MainGroup,NCHAR(1610),NCHAR(1740)),NCHAR(1603),NCHAR(1705)) = ''REPLACE(REPLACE(' + @MainGroup + ',NCHAR(1610),NCHAR(1740)),NCHAR(1603),NCHAR(1705))'' AND Status = ''verified'' ORDER BY Stars Desc';

SELECT TOP 5 Stars FROM SpecialA

Unicode problem from ashx to SQL Express

Hi everyone,

i have an sql express db with a table, containing a nvarchar(max) field.

If i add a text in SQL Management Studio, for example, running the query: UPDATE table SET htmlcontent=N'text with special character: SS' WHERE id = 1

everything is working fine!. The special unicode character S is saved into the field.

In ASP i have a generic handler which handles my data communication to and from the database. No matter what i try there, the S char is not accepted and

changed into a question mark. I have tried several things in SQL:

- stored proc with sp_executesql and parameters

- hardcoded query in the ashx file..

            sqlStr = "UPDATE ELEMENTS SET htmlcontent=N'" & myCleanResult & "' WHERE id=" & id

            connStringSQL = New SqlConnection(mySqlConnection)

            Dim myAdapter1 As New SqlCommand(sqlStr, connStringSQL)

            result = myAdapter1.ExecuteScalar()

Exporting SharePoint profile picture to ActiveDirectory thumbnailPhoto attribute problem!

I am trying to export SharePoint profile Picture to ActiveDirectory thumbnailPhoto attribute.  Here's what I did so far :

  • FIM account has Replicating Directory Changes, Read and Write permissions on the users OU
  • Central Administration -> Manage service applications -> User Profile Service Application -> Manage User Properties -> Picture -> Edit -> Add New Mapping -> AD - thumbnailPhoto - export
  • Start Profile Synchronization
  • Result :

Stage SharePoint Server export

Updates 0
Unchanged 0
Successes 0
Failures 0

I have then found on the Internet that since My Sites are in https, I have to load the root certificate in SharePoint.  I use a "GeoTrust DV SSL CA" for My Sites so I have downloaded the GeoTrust_Global_CA.cer root certificate from GeoTrust and did the following :

  • Central Administration -> Security -> Manage Trust -> New -> GeoTrust - GeoTrust_Global_CA.cer
  • Result :

The Root Certificate that was just selected is inv

Path Too Long Problem. Accessing filenames longer than 260 chars using unicode and kernel32.dll.

I found this article a few weeks ago that provided a way to access files and folders past the 260 char length:

I put the code from "Finding Files and Folders" in a dll and wrote an app in vb accessing these functions.  However, the code randomly breaks on a specific kernel32 function call.

I noticed that if the search finds a file (not folder) longer than 12 to 14 characters then it breaks on occasion.  This is strange because I would think it would either never break or always break.

Here's the line where it breaks:

// find next

found = FindNextFile(findHandle, out findData);

Any ideas?

exporting .rdlc to excel

Hello All.

I have a .rdlc report created in Visual Studio and Upon executing, I wish to have the user be able to export the resulting data to Excel.  How would I go about doing this?

Thanks in advance...

problem with culture info in Report.rdlc

          Me with C#.net and using report viewer control I am populating reports in my Report.rdlc I have a table in which two field are money values I want to format these fields so that if there is a value like 2300 it should show as 2,300.00 but when in format property I typed c then it shows as $2,300.00 How can I remove $ symobol from the field

I had changed the current culture info and tested  its working fine for a new new value but still in the report $ is showing

 private static void Pr_NewMethod()
            int[] ARR ={ 3, 2, 2 };
            System.Globalization.CultureInfo cultureInfo = new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("en-US");
            System.Globalization.NumberFormatInfo NumberInfo = new System.Globalization.NumberFormatInfo();
            NumberInfo.CurrencySymbol = "";
            NumberInfo.CurrencyDecimalDigits = 3;

exporting a .rdlc to excel

This is probably a futile question, because I'm not sure it has an answer, but I'll give it a try anyway.

I've got an .rdlc report which I print from my .net app (C# Visual Studio 2005), where I use a RemoteReportPrinter object.  I give it as parameters the server name, report name, report parameters, etc.  Works fine.  My question is, I would live to do an analagous export of that report to Excel.  Set it up exactly the same, but have it export to Excel rather than print, probably using some other type of object than RemoteReportPrinter.

Anybody have any ideas as to how this could be done?
