create an infopath form that receive and submit data to sql server database in the same form

i want to create an infopath form that can receive the data out of the slq server database and edit the data in the database and then submit it.

here is what i did so far.

i created a data connection to a sql server database to SUBMIT the data.

also i created a data connection to the same sql server database to RECEIVE the data.

when i open the form the user and the user's details are already filled in the form, now i need to let the user edit the data in the fields or add a new data in a field and then the form need to be submitted to a temporary database to be checked first by an approver and after approval the form must be submitted to the real sql server database.

i tought about that the approver just need to click a button and the data will be submitted to the the real database.

both the temporary and the real database has the same tables and fields.

i just need to know how to edit and submit the data to the temporary later to the real database

Calling a data-driven web service method asynchronously

I am trying to write a Windows Service which will call web service methods based on a run schedule.  I have setup a ‘schedule’ table which holds the name of the web service method and some scheduling details (e.g. run every day at 0200).  I am using VS 2005/vb.net.

My service creates a timer which runs every minute and when the timer is fired the schedule table is read and  any entries which are due to fire are actioned.  This could mean multiple methods being fired at the same time.  As some of the methods are overnight batch processes and may take some time, I don’t want processes to wait for others to finish before being actioned.  As the methods themselves write to the system log to report their success or failure the scheduling service does not care whether the job fails or not – it is simply doing a ‘fire and forget’ exercise.

What I need is some code which will fire a data-driven web service method asynchronously.

I have investigated two types of method call.  The first is a simple InvokeMethod:-

mywebservice.GetType().InvokeMember(ScheduleRow("WebMethod").TOString(),(Reflection.BindingFlags.InvokeMethod Or Reflection.BindingFlags.IgnoreReturn), Nothing, mywebservice, Nothing)

The second is an asynchronous call:-

Dim asyncCall as New AsyncCallB

What is a good example Dynamic Data application?

I'm giving a demonstration of Dynamic Data to a bunch of geeks in two weeks time. I'm looking for a simpe, but comprehensive data model to build the application on. I basically just want to register the model and demonstrate the application, as built (scaffolded) without any customisation, to start with, demonstrating list and detail/edit/insert views, and how table relations are handled.

I'd like to avoid one of the standards, i.e. the Customer->Order-OrderItem models, and try something that would be of interest to geeks. Maybe a Srum project tracker, an or a bug tracker, something like that.

Any suggestions please?

Data lost on submit

Dear Experts,

I have a modal popup and a GridView in it. The GridView is populated programmatically, i.e. I use .DataBind(). I can enter data into some of the GridView's controls. After I press Submit, I expect to do something with the entered data. But in the button press handler, the GridView is empty. I realize that I have to DataBind() again in the handler, but how can I preserve the data the user enters?

Switch views when opening a form depending on submit locations?

I would like to know it was possible to switch views when opening a form depending on where the form has been submitted.

I am submitting my form to library A and library B and want to be able to open it in view 1 in library A and in view 2 in library B.

Is there a way to set some url conditions in the open behavior rules?

Thanks a lot!
