Refreshing a Jquery modal dialog after closing another Jquery modal dialog

I have one aspx page which contains a webpart. The structure of the webpart is:

Webpart(holds one user control say UC1)

      UC1-> contains another user control say (UC2) in a <div>, which I am going to show as a popup on clicking of a link button inside a gridview in UC1.

      UC2-> contain another user control say (UC3) in a <div>, which I am going to show as a popup on clicking of a button inside in UC2.

That means -> UC1(main page) ------->(Onclick) One JQuery popup(UC2)--------------->(OnClick) One Jquery popup(UC3) here UC2 is still remaining in focus and UC3 will be another Jquery popup on UC2.

Now my requirement is when i fill the Jquery popup(UC3) and click on save button in UC3, I would like to close UC3 Jquery popup and refresh the gridview inside UC2 Jquery popup without closing it.

Is this possible?(please explain the logic if found in terms of Jquery, but not in terms of normal popup windows)

Custom Edit form - close modal dialog and navigate to page

Hi, I created one custom edit form for my document library, replaced default save and cancel buttons with input buttons and added the form action to them. Then I set my page as default edit form. When I click edit button, my custom form opens in modal pop up. When I try to save the item by clicking new save button, item gets saved but pop remains as it is. Now, I want the modal pop up to get closed and navigate to page other than the parent page with some parameters after I click save button. How can I achieve this? Thanks!!

reCaptcha+jquery ui modal dialog

Hi, I would like to have a contact form which contains a reCaptcha, and have that form inside a jquery ui modal dialog. All works well, except that I have a submit button for the form - which closes the modal dialog wether the recaptcha is valid or invalid. I tried adding onClientClick="return false;" to the submit button, but it still posts back, and closes the dialog. how do I remain inside the dialog ?

Master Page show/hide links

Hello,        I'm fairly new to mvc and I'm just looking for a best practice on hiding action links in the master page depending on the user logged in. Since the master page doesn't receive a model I'm not sure how to pull this off the right(MVC) way. Thanks

Refresh Parent Page List after Edit Item Modal Dialog Save/Close

I am calling the Edit Item URL (EditForm.aspx?ID=x&IsDlg=1) via javascript code to bring up the Edit Item Modal Dialog. This works fine and dandy. But what callbackfunction should I invoke after the Save so that the parent list is refreshed? Is there a better way to do it than call reload on the entire parent frame? It almost looks like there should be a way to refresh just the list. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Jake.

Using jQuery .hide() and .show() on panel sets doesn't maintain status through postback. Viewstate

I'm using jQuery against a set of three asp panels.  I set up an 'onChange' function for a dropdown list that dictates which panels to hide and show based on the UI selection.When the page first loads, one of the panels will be shown, the others will be hidden.  Let's say pnlOne is showing because the dropdown has option 1 selected.  This is done on the server with this:pnlOne.Style.Add("display","block");//and all the other panels are set to ".Style.Add("display","none");" based on logic.Then, the user selects a different value in the dropdown.  Let's say they select option number 2.  With javascript and jQuery I do this:$("#<%=pnlOne.ClientID %>").hide();$("#<%=pnlTwo.ClientID %>").hide();$("#<%=pnlThree.ClientID %>").hide();switch($("#<%= ddlOptionNumber.ClientID %> option:selected").text()){case "1":$("#<%= pnlOne.ClientID %>").show();break;case "2": etc.,}The issue is when the page posts back.  I'm running client side validation only at this point.  (Even if I add client side in the future I will still run client side as well to avoid security issues.)  When the validation functions detect an issue and the page returns to be displayed, the original panel (pnlOne)

is it possible to hide a link in the sitemap, yet still show the breadcrumb on the page?

We have a dynamic sitemap and all nodes in the sitemap display a breadcrumb.

Is it possible to have the breadcrumb still showing, but make the link in the sitemap invisible or non-clickable?

Reason for this is that...
we dont want users to select some pages from the sitemap (becasue they need to conduct a search first to populate a datagrid) and clicking on the link will only take them to an empty page.

I tried just removing the url, or having a blank title, but that didn't work.

perhaps a stylesheet and display none or something..?

Hide Modal Dialog Close Button when dialog is already shown

Hey everyone,

Was wondering, how do you hide the close button of a modal dialog, when it's already shown, i.e. the page that's being loaded into the dialog, in there is a web part, and i want to trigger a script call to hide the close button of the current modal container.

I know you could give options to the modal dialog when you shot it to hide the close button, but not sure if you can do it after it has shown. I have no control of adding the option when it's showing the dialog, as this is done by the Add new item link in a list.

How to close the sharepoint modal dialog and refresh the parent page using Server side API?

I am trying to find a way to close a modal page that has been opened with the click event of ribbon control. Once the modal dialog is opened, I'm showing 'OK' button for the user to confirm some action on the respective list item. If the user clicks on 'OK', I'm performing some action on the listitem using server side code. Here the problem for me is, once the action is completed on this listItem, I need to close the dialog and refresh the parent page (AllItem.aspx) using *sharepoint server side

I'm aware that for closing the dialog we have JS code "SP.UI.ModalDialog.commonModalDialogClose". But this is not useful for me, because I should first run some action on the listitem and once that action is complete, then only I should close this dialog.

Remove the Modal Dialog 'Page' Button

Hello ...

Throughout my SP 2010 / InfoPath2010 site, I have a number of Modal Dialogs that were developed with InfoPath2010.  Everything is working fine apart from one nagging problem ... each Modal Dialog appears with the 'PAGE' button at the top.  Clicking it opens up the toolbar with various options available.

How do I get rid of this?  Or is it only appearing because I've got admin access?

'calendarShown' is undefined - Got it to show up in modal popup (on one page)

I managed to find the way to get the calender to show in a modal popup by searching the forum.  However, I now have a problem in which the calendarShown function throws an error.

The strange thing is that it works fine on one page of my website - no error and the calendar shows up but on the other it throws the 'calendarShown' is undefined on page load.  Then the calendar doesn't show up.  I've gone as far as copying the exact function from the working page and pasting it in to the non-working page.  Still get the same error!!!

<asp:TextBox ID="txtEffDate" Width="100px" MaxLength="10" runat="server" onkeyup="enableAddSave();" ></asp:TextBox>
								<cc2:CalendarExtender ID="CalendarExtender1" runat="server" TargetControlID="txtEffDate" OnClientShown="calendarShown"></cc2:CalendarExtender>

 function calendarShown(sender, args)
  	sender._popupBehavior._element.style.zIndex = 10005;

Anyone run in to this problem??

Hide/Show placeHolder with checbox (jQuery)

Placeholder visibility is set to false (in the code I will paste bellow it's set to visible). When users clicks checkbox the place holder will appear. If uncheck the checked checkbox the place holder would become invisible.

I wanted to help myself with the similar case found here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/36505521/51-Recipes-jquery-aspnET-controls#outer_page_52

and one similar on this forum: http://forums.asp.net/p/1509271/3590401.aspx

I think that this would be quite easy but guess my experimentation with code brings no posititve results and also the fact that I probably have enough of coding for this day. :)

The code (I'm also using fancy checkbox plugin - Safari style):

<script type="text/javascript">
        $(document).ready(function() {
        $('[id$=chckBoxGrp]').checkbox({ cls: 'jquery-safari-checkbox' });
        //not working
        $('[id$=chckBoxGrp]').find('input:checkbox').click(function() {
            if ($('[id$ = chckBoxGrp]').is(":checked")) {

How to index a page that uses jquery to dynamically load

I have an html page that dynamically loads content using jquery.  After the page initially renders, it takes 1-2 seconds for the data to be populated from the javascript.  As a result, the Sharepoint indexer is not able to "see" any of this dynamic content and it is not searchable.  Are there any workarounds for this?
