Is it possible that I can pass a value from the html section to the JQuery section ?
If so, then please give me the sample code.

I'm trying to test calling a webservice, I've found several free ones on http://webserviceshare.com, but none of them work for me. Some of them give example calling code in C# which I've translated to VB.NET, they're typically just two to four lines, I don't think I've translated them incorrectly.
On that I've tried is US Zip Validator. I added a Service Reference to http://www.webservicemart.com/uszip.asmx?WSDL, called ZipService.
I then call it like so:
Dim myZipService As ZipService.USZipSoapClient = New ZipService.USZipSoapClient() Dim myCity As String = myZipService.ValidateZip("27707")
I get the following error on the first line of code:
"An endpoint configuration section for contract 'ZipService.USZipSoap' could not be loaded because more than one endpoint configuration for that contract was found. Please indicate the preferred endpoint configuration section by name."
A page with information on this web service (including C# source code) is at:
I have a web application that is actually installed as a component of a third party site. In some configurations, I need to remove certain connection strings and re-add them. I'm replacing this web.config section with a xml file that includes the following:
<connectionStrings> <remove name="MyOverridenConnection"/> <add connectionString="Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=False;Initial Catalog=MyDb;Data Source=MyServer" name="MyOverridenConnection" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/> </connectionStrings>
For some reason the remove tag is left out during the substitution and I end up with the following in the installed config:
<connectionStrings> <add connectionString="Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=False;Initial Catalog=MyDb;Data Source=MyServer" name="MyOverridenConnection" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/> </connectionStrings>
Is there any way to issue removes in replaced sec
I spliced this from the webconfig of the working program into another application's webconfig.
I have just this one error here. Is it ok to have different locations with different system.web areas

Hi I have a webpart in a page in which there is a gridview(which shows list of customers). When I click on a link button in gridview, I would like to popup a JQuery modal window and fill the popup(this contains textboxes, then a gridview which contains mapped systems for thet customer, and another gridview which contains list of configured reports for that customer) with the details based on the customer name(link) clicked. Here I need to pass the customer Id and customer name parameters based on which I can fill the Jquery modal window.
Can any one have an idea to pass parameters to JQuery modal window in order to fill the contents inside it?
Hey, guys! I'm building a web site for a Section 508 workgroup, and I need the site to be 100% accessible (including the administration module I'm making for the team. We're using SharePoint MOSS 2007 and I recommended using infopath to enter data into the site's database (and also to populate downloadable Microsoft Word documents). The customer claimed that InfoPath is not Section 508 compliant, which seemed odd to me because the forms can be modified to anything you want them to be (including 508 compliant).I even found this guide to making InfoPath accessible:http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath/HA102146831033.aspxI'm curious if there are any caveats to making accessible forms in Infopath, or if the information I've gathered is incorrect. Thanks!Spaz
We are going to be displaying videos within our application. We want to be able to overlay a semi-transparent layer or whatever over the video with data from our database about that video.
similar to some youtube video's where when you mouse over the video as its playing, a small portion on the bottom of the video displays or even at the end of the video when it gives you option to view 2 other videos.. we woudl like to do that affect but with data .
I guess another example of what we want is the effect of a modal popup but over a video file.
This forum may not be the place to ask, but i searched around and everything i found was video overlay software.. where you can create your own overlay by opening the video and editing.. we dont want to edit our video, they have to stay intact.. we simply want to place a transparent image over it with data about it.
here is login form I would like to use.
Right now it is not communicating with my codebehind page.
How do I modify the jquery login code to post the username and password to the codebehind?
