Problem with MVC 3 beta and PHP

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 19, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I have a site that is using MVC and PHP. We recently upgraded it to MVC 3 Preview 1 and things have been working fine. We just upgraded it the Beta release of MVC 3 and suddenly any form posts to PHP pages fail with a timeout error. "Gets" work fine, it's just posts that fail. The problem seems to be related to the
  <modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true" />
setting in web.config. When it's false the posts to PHP work fine but then MVC doesn't function properly.

We've duplicated the problem on both a Windows 7 development box and a Windows Server 2008 R2 server. The problem does not occur on our Windows Server 2003 test server, probably because it's not using the integrated pipeline.

I'm not having much luck getting help from the normal support channel. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

At login I get this message:

Exception Details: System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException: The column name is not valid. [ Node name (if any) = ,Column name = PasswordFailuresSinceLastSucess ]

After installing Beta 2 I only have problems for now :)

Problem with XCopy deployment of SQL Server CE 3.5 SP2 Beta

As ErikEJ's article says (http://erikej.blogspot.com/2009/10/whats-new-in-sql-server-compact-35-sp2.html), "...Notice the “Private” folder, which contains a version of System.Data.SqlServerCe.Dll which should be used for private deployments, to prevent the “Assembly probing” issue".

I have following app.config file:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
      <remove invariant="System.Data.SqlServerCe.3.5" />
      <add name="Microsoft SQL Server Compact Data Provider"
           description=".NET Framework Data Provider for Microsoft SQL Server Compact"
                 PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91" />
    <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1">

Razor View Engine problem in Preview corrected in Beta?

On my projects I am using Razor View engine and I need to define custom Partial folders:

      // Define default view engine
      ViewEngines.Engines.Add(new CshtmlViewEngine());
      ViewEngines.Engines.Add(new WebFormViewEngine());

      // Define Razor view engine
      CshtmlViewEngine razor = (CshtmlViewEngine)ViewEngines.Engines[0];

      // Register partial views folders
      razor.PartialViewLocationFormats = razor.PartialViewLocationFormats.Concat(new String[] { "~/Views/Partial/{0}.cshtml" }).ToArray();
      razor.AreaPartialViewLocationFormats = razor.AreaPartialViewLocationFormats.Concat(new String[] { "~/Areas/{1}/Views/Partial/{0}.cshtml" }).ToArray();

I had this because there was a problem in MVC 3 Preview. Was it corrected?

How should I register the Partial Views in MVC 3 Beta?

Thank You,

2008 reportviewer - IE9 beta caching problem

In IE9 beta the reportviewer is caching the previous report. I have a reportviewer on an aspx page that gets called and the code behind connects to the reportserver using the remote process mode.

However when the new tab opens up the old report is still displayed. This doesnt happen in IE7 or Firefox.

Anyone come across this problem?

Problem installing ASP.NET MVC 3 beta

Hi, when I install MVC 3 Beta, the installation finishes with no errors but I don't get the Visual Studio templates. In the setup log at %temp%\VisualStudio2010_MvcTemplates.Log there is a bunch of warnings like Error in Template ..., or Found templates with duplicate ids. I have no idea how to fix it. Please help. I put the log here if it helps.

MVC3 Beta @Html.AntiForgeryToken() problem

I am getting strange error when trying to use @Html.AntiForgeryToken() in my views.

The error is:

[ArgumentNullException: Buffer cannot be null.
Parameter name: buffer]
   System.IO.MemoryStream..ctor(Byte[] buffer, Boolean writable) +9638183
   System.IO.MemoryStream..ctor(Byte[] buffer) +6
   System.Web.Mvc.AntiForgeryDataSerializer.Deserialize(String serializedToken) +97

[HttpAntiForgeryException (0x80004005): A required anti-forgery token was not supplied or was invalid.]
   System.Web.Mvc.AntiForgeryDataSerializer.Deserialize(String serializedToken) +397
   System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper.GetAntiForgeryTokenAndSetCookie(String salt, String domain, String path) +160
   System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper.AntiForgeryToken(String salt, String domain, String path) +16
   System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper.AntiForgeryToken() +10

Am I doing something wrong. The request till this exception is raised is GET, not POST. I thought that on GET the token is generated and than is validated on post.

Please advice.<

ASP.NET 4 and Visual Studio 2010 Web Development Beta 2 Overview

Many exciting changes for ASP.NET are coming in the .NET Framework version 4. This document gives an overview of many of the new features that are included in the Beta 2 release of the .NET Framework 4 and of Visual Studio 2010.

Problem to group radio button across gridview rows

In general no one can easily group or make a single selection from radio button list inside gridview rows. There are a lot of way to make a single or unique selection from list. Here i want to share how i can address this problem in the most easiest way. Googling the problem most of the cases i saw the grouping in horizontal way. Thats why i tried to group the radio buttons in vertical manner. Let i have a requirement like below:

Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2

This is a big deal. This isn't ".NET 3.6" - there are a lot of improvements of .NET 4, and it's not just "pile on a bunch of features so you get overwhelmed." I've been working with and talking to many of the teams involved and even though it's a cheesy thing to say, this is a really customer-focused release.

ASP 4 - Whirlwind Tour around .NET 4 (and Visual Studio 2010) Beta 1

There's a lot of stuff that's new and added in .NET 4, but not in that "overwhelming-I-need-to-relearn-everything" way. More in that, "oh, this is way easier/simpler now" way. Like, moving data around with ADO.NET DataServices is easy, binding with client templates is easy, there's F# if you need it, the "dynamic" keyword if you need it, Silverlight's already installed, oh, and the parallel stuff will freak you out, but in a good way.

ASP.Net Caching problem ??

I'm having a problem with an asp.net 3.0 application using a gridview to display data.  The problem seems to be that despite a brand new .selectCommand being sent to the sqlDataSource, the gridview starts displaying data from *someone else's* query.  For example, user A is logged in and will be working fine until a few page submissions later when the gridview data starts suddenly showing information that belongs to another user.

This is my first asp.net application, though I've been working with classic asp and ADO for years so I'm used to sending a SQL string and getting back the results from that string.  Apparently there is a complex caching system which is interferring which I do not at all understand so at this point I just want to stop the server from caching any data whatsoever.  Is this possible?

Any and all help will be much appreciated!!

Could some one tell me whats the Problem with this String Manipulation ??? C#.net

I store some values from code behind to a label which is Hidden !

<asp:Label ID="lbl_Hidden" runat="server" Visible = "false"></asp:Label>

and at the page load event i retrieve the value of the label & assign it to a string !

stringvalue = lbl_Hidden.Text;

Now i dont know why this manipulation does'nt work !

I've a character 'A' in the string and i'm unable to replace it with a space !

stringvalue.Replace(A, " ");

Wot do u think abt it ????

RaiseEvent problem

I have a parent page ProdView.aspx and two static UserControls, UC1 and UC2. Each UC is in an Ajax accordion pane and the accordion inside an updatepanel.

UC1 has a Gridview footer with couple of textboxes and a link button that fires an Add Row insert procedure. I want to Raise an event that will rebind the UC2 after the row insert in UC1.

First I created the sub delegate and event in UC1:

  • Public Delegate Sub MyRefresh(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As CommandEventArgs)
  • Public Event Refresh_UC1 As MyRefresh

In the same UC1 the Insert procedure that fires the insert and RaiseEvent:

Sub PricingGrid_Insert(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
       Dim myConn As SqlConnection = New SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("LocalSqlServer").ConnectionString)
       Dim myCom As SqlCommand = New SqlCommand("AddRow", myConn)
       myCom.CommandText = "AddRow"
       myCom.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
