Has anyone got link to example of real world case study on how to handle BI solutions in terms of charging clients, costs and earnings all that includes in 'Sales model' term? How companies really earns from SQL Server BI?
I mean we all know more or less how to create SQL BI solutions , how to publish them, but I want to know what are real world best practices on selling those BI solutions ?
Is it being done by purchasing SQL server license for my company and then when I have access to company ABC data's then I'm creating cubs , reports etc and charging them for that work ? Saying to my client that if you want to have reports from SSRS
they please go to address www.adres.com/reports and if you want to create your own report from cube then connect to it by your own excel ? Is it being done like this ? Do client needs anything else to access cube except Excel license ? Then probably
monthly many for maintaining the solution ?
This is probably basic question for all of you that actually works with MS BI solutions on daily basis but it's hard for me to understand this as I'm only begging to learn MS Bi and most of the books focus on technical site.
Any help much appreciated.
