I work on a web site which runs fine for several month. Zend and a SqlServer database with the SqlSrv driver from microsoft.

I now work on a new controller and i'm trying to save row on table i've been only reading until now. FYI, the table is pretty large.

So i create my row, populate it from my form and :

I try catch this line but the catch block isn't executed at all.
I see an error 500 in the access.log but no other error in php_error.log or apache error.log. Only these lines in the zendEnabler.log :

The line in the sqlServer table is create with all the information i set in the row.

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver

I'm getting the following exception when attempting to connect to SQL Server 2005 using Microsoft's new JDBC driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The TCP/IP connection to the host  has failed. java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect The help docs suggest checking connectivity using telnet. So attempting to connect via telnet to generates: Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connect failed. So I try to start telnet: net start telnet I get the following error message: The service cannot be started either because it is disabled or because it has no enables devices associated with it. Can anyone help? Thanks

Server: MSg 17, Level 16, State 1 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not e

Hi All, When we try to connect to a sql server 2000 using SQL server authentication, we are facing the below mentioned error msg. "Server: MSg 17, Level 16, State 1 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied" But, once we connect to server using Windows NT login from the client machine, i.e., execute the below command in the run prompt and provide the credentials for windows login, we are able to connect to the server using sql server authentication(user name: sa) \\server_ipaddress\c$ When we went though some of the msdn links, found that windows firewall was the major cause. But, in the server 1. Windows Firewall is turned off 2. TCP/IP and NamedPipes are enabled 3. Default Port Number is 1433 Any user, who wants to connect to the SQL Server using SSMS, first have to perform a Windows NT login and then connect using SQL authentication.  Due to the above error, the DTS packages which are executing in a different server are getting failed. NOTE: Even after connecting to the server using Remote Desktop connection in a local machine, SQL authentication fails. Its manadatory to run the command \\server_ipaddress\c$ in each of the local machine. Any suggestion to resolve the above error is very much appreciated.   Thanks in advance, Raksha Hegde

The problem is, I am using 64-bit Xp Pro and it does not see any Access driver on 64-bit architecture. Does anybody have 64-bit compatible ODBC driver for Microsoft Access ? Any other help also will be appreciated....

I need to establish a connection between an Access 2003 database (32 bit) and an 11g 64 bit Oracle database on a server. I am running Windows 7 on a 64 bit laptop. I did a clean install of Oracle 11g for 64 bit. I have no problem accessing the Oracle database via the Oracle SQL Developer. I just have a problem from within Access. I hope someone can help me. I've been fighting this for several months. Thanks in advance!

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

trying to install sql server2005 on a windows 2003 server box.

getting msg below at the sql server .  i looked at other posts on trying to uninstall  SQL Native Access Client and norton antivirus.  i could never find the snac on the add - remove programs and this server does not have a virus protection program yet.

here's the history of the installs on the server:

wanted to test a 2005 upgrade so:

  1) installed sql server 2000 then sp4 then restored some databases to it - all OK

  2) tried to upgrade to sql 2005 but ran into problems and left it at that.

had a disk drive crash on the d drive so lost the installs but not the operating system

when the drive was replaced, left alone for a while

then wanted to test a straight 2005 install

  1) removed the broken 2005 attempt

  2) removed the 2000

  3) installed 2005 and got the error on the subject line:

SQL Server Setup could not connect to the database service for server configuration. The error was: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified Refer to server error logs and setup logs for more information. Is a 64-Bit Microsoft text driver available

I am trying to obtain a 64-bit  "Microsoft Text Driver (*.txt; *.csv)" driver  so that I can access csv files. Does one exist?

I am using sqlserver 2005 x64 and have installed the 64-bit version  MSDASQL
My goal is use openrowset as follows

from OpenRowset('MSDASQL', 'Driver={Microsoft Text Driver (*.txt; *.csv)};
'select * from testdata.csv'

Websphere with Microsoft SQL JDBC Driver 2.0 eats up CPU when StaleConnection is encountered

Here's what happened

1. SQL Server started as a service

2. Websphere (with JDBC Data Source utilizing MSSQL JDBC Driver) is started via startserver.bat

3. I ran my application a few times (which accesses the database)

4. I restart the MSSQL Service

5. I click on a button that attempts to query the database

6. CPU utilization of websphere shoots up and doesn't return to 0 (unless you restart websphere)

To investigate I isolated the DataSource and Connection object generation in a Serverside script and that seems to work fine but when you put them inside Stateless, Container Managed Session Beans then it sort of goes into limbo.  Weird thing is that the same code, when using DataDirect, works well.

However, since it seems like DataDirect is not packaged with websphere anymore, Im left with no option but to use MSSQL JDBC Driver.  Any thoughts on how I can reclaim those CPU resources?  Unfortunately, a try catch doesnt help since program hangs when it executes Connection.execute() - meaning it doesn't reach the catch part

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data Source name not found and no device driver specified

I get the above error message when running my VB6 sp4 application on a new Win7 workstation (32 bit machine). The app runs fine on a WIn xp sp3 workstation. The app does require a DSN setup in the ODBC section and I setup the SQL connection the same as I do on an XP machine. I also test the connection on the WIN & machine and it "test successfully". After the error above the app returns a runtime error -2147467259 (80004005). I am attaching my connection string:

Any help would be appreciated.

Microsoft Paradox Driver ODBC

Is it possible to install  and where do I obtain the Microsoft ODBC Paradoc Driver for Windows 7? I can't seem to locate it in the ODBC Datasources Administrator like I could in WinXP and Vista on the drivers Tab.

Microsoft AJAX CDN

Content delivery networks (CDNs) are composed of "edge cache" servers that are strategically placed around the world at key Internet network points. These "edge cache" servers can be used to cache and deliver all types of content - including images, videos, CSS and JavaScript files.

Using a CDN can significantly improve a website's end-user performance, since it enables browsers to more quickly retrieve and download content. For example, instead of having a browser request for an image traverse all the way across the Internet to your web server to download, a CDN can instead serve the request directly from a nearby "edge cache" server that might only be a single network hop away from your customer (making it return much faster - which makes your pages load quicker).

Microsoft's Collaborative Application Markup Language (CAML) Loop

discovered an interesting error recently while working with Microsoft's Collaborative Application Markup Language (CAML) that, surprisingly, had received no ink. Partly what surprises me about this is that the error may require you to rewrite large sections of your code if you haven't previously considered this SharePoint limitation. I'll start with some context, but first of all the error is:

CLR Integration With Microsoft SQL Server

Transact-SQL provides as much flexibility as possible but, because it is not a real programming language, it has some shortcomings about many issues (memory management, exception handling, debugging, file processing (or streaming), object-orientation (classes), or thread management). Transact-SQL also lacks features of normal libraries (arrays, collections, serialization, expressions, or string manipulations, etc).

MVC architecture in ASP.Net using C# and Microsoft Data Access Application block

The Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern separates the modeling of the domain, the presentation, and the actions based on user input into three separate classes [Burbeck92]:

Model. The model manages the behavior and data of the application domain, responds to requests for information about its state (usually from the view), and responds to instructions to change state (usually from the controller).

View. The view manages the display of information.

Controller. The controller interprets the mouse and keyboard inputs from the user, informing the model and/or the view to change as appropriate.

Building Layered Web Applications with Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 - Part 1

"Building Layered Web Applications" that shows you how to build N-Layer applications with Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0. These articles teach you how to design, build and use custom business objects in your web application. The target audience for this series are developers that are ready to make the switch from using SqlDataSource controls to ObjectDataSource controls with custom business objects. Experience with ASP.NET 2 and C# is necessary while some knowledge about object oriented design certainly helps. The design I am going to show you in these articles is a simplified version of a design you would use in a real world application. It doesn't feature all the necessary functionality your application needs, but instead focuses on the underlying concepts.
