We're struggling trying to get ECTs to work properly and would love some help. We have a very simple scenario:
- One table which has an int identity column (auto-incrementing) as PK.
- We need to retrieve the data (Finder/SpecificFinder) using views.
- We need to update and create data using Stored Procedures.
When we create the list/item operations we set the PK as "Map to identifier" and make it read only but not required. In the create stored procedure we don't have a parameter for the PK (since it's an identity col). Then we have nothing to map the
identity column to and we can't create the create operation.
We've tried to add the PK as a parameter in the SP and simply ignore it in the insert statement. Then the PK is always showing up in the view forms although we've marked it as read only. We've tried to remove the field using InfoPath Designer but then we
get an error about a converstion to int failed in the logs when trying to create a new item using the form.
Bottom line - we feel like morons here. This must be the most basic example anyone could think of apart from going straight to the tables which isn't a likely real world scenario. Yet I can't find any information when googling this.
Any help or pointers is greatly appreciated.
