Sharepoint Approval Workflow Hide Non-approved Documents

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 18, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I have set up an approval workflow for a document library.

One person populates the library with materials.  Two people approve materials for consumption.  Twenty people consume these materials.

Is it possible (1)to hide documents that have not been approved yet or (2) make them unable to be opened?

Error customizing Approval Workflow in SharePoint Designer

Sharepoint Approval Complex Workflow Requirement

I have a very complex requirement of workflow to be developed. Here is it... There is a Sales Order form which user fills in. This form should have a header section which is static. Body section consist of questions which should be configurable. There are 2 answers to such questions. 1. Standarad & Other Exception. If user selects exception then more number of fields should be displayed which again should be configurable. For every exception answer to the question, there should be a provision to configure approver with a certain Role... e.g. GM, Controller etc.. This role would then have actual approvers who can change any time and as a result need to be again defined in config database. Again they would be based on the Business unit that form is filled in. Finally more questions can be added by admin which creates a new version of the form and from the day its released, all new records should show new versions however old should continue old. What would be the best sharepoint solution approach for this requirement?

SharePoint 2010 Approval workflow based on list criteria

Hello All

I have been requested to create an Approval workflow for a list with 3 columns - Title, Category and Price. The Category field has 3 options - Minor, Moderate and Major.

If the Category is Minor the approval is sent to the Project Manager, and after approval it is sent to the Manager for approval.

How can I accomplish this using SharePoint Designer 2010? Can I modify the OOTB approval workflow, if yes how?

What other options do I have? This is really urgent.

Thank you for any responses.

Approval Workflow : Getting the name (or unique ID) of the item being approved in the infopath Task

I need to display the name/title of the item being approved in the infopath task form that is viewed by the approvers. How can I achieve this? The data fields in the Primary data connection seem to correspond to task item and not the item being approved itself.

Thanks in advance!

SharePoint approval workflow.

Hi there,

I am new to sharepoint 2010 workflows. I have been asked to create an approval workflow using sharepoint desigener 2010. I need to follow following process.

A web page creator will start the workflow (this can be achieved starting a workflow manually)

Once a creator submits this work flow I want to send an email to Approvers and same time a task will be assigned to them, this task will be a form which contains various questions (I can create the form using InfoPath but how to attach it to the workflow task)

Once approvers complete their task an email will be sent to the publishers and a task will be assigned to them. This task contains a form this is a different form from the approvers form. (I can create this form in InfoPath but don’t know how to attach it to the workflow task).

I tried to modify out of box publishing approval workflow but had no luck.

Please help

SharePoint 2010 Approval Workflow email is not showing link to Workflow Task list

I have created an out of box Approval workflow in SharePoint 2010. I am receiving email with below information

Task assigned by Chinna Malipedu on 10/7/2010.

Due by 1/1/0001

Approval started by Chinna Malipedu on 10/7/2010 11:43 AM
Comment: Approve

To complete this task:
1. Review SharePoint2010.
2. Perform the specific activities required for this task.
3. Use the Open this task button to mark the task as completed. (If you cannot update this task, you might not have access to it.)

But I need to go to Workflow Task List by clicking 3 item "Use the Open this Task" , this is not a link here

or I want like "Edit this task to mark the task as completed."  Edit this task should link to Task List

How to do this? do i missing any configuration?

I have successfully done the same  in MOSS 2007.                                                               Is there  any extra&n

SharePoint 2007 Approval Workflow

By using the stock, out-of-the-box work flows, is there anyway to trigger an email or another work flow by the completion of an approval work flow?

I'm looking at the three state work flow, but this does not seem to be a good 'fit' for what I need. I simply need the approval work flow, that's set to 'parallel send' to the 'approvers', to trigger either another work flow to notify another group to take some action, or, send an email to notify said group to take some action (like install an approved change).

Thanks, CRL50

how to get the status of an approval workflow of item using sharepoint object model ?

There is a list on which an approval workflow is associated, workflow starts when an item is added. The list is having anonymous access so anyone can enter an item, but the item needs to be approved by an approver.Hence, each item will have a status(e.g. approved, rejected etc.).

Now,I am creating a visual webpart.I want to display the list items in a grid. But I need to display only those items which are approved.I am using sharepoint object model,How can I filter the items based on the approval status.

SharePoint 2010 Approval Workflow

I have set up a standard approval workflow in SharePoint 2010 Server.  The e-mail sent to the approver links fine to the file that needs review but the approval step part of the e-mail just looks like this:  3. Use the Open this task button to mark the task as completed. (If you cannot update this task, you might not have access to it.)  There is no link to the approval task, it is just bold.  I don't think it is not a permissions issues because I can go to the task list and approve the task.  Any ideas?

Designing a basic workflow for document approval using Sharepoint Designer2010.

Here is my current workflow design http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/8594/sharepoint2010designer.jpg

My primary question relates to the approval status.  As you can see in the picture I have said if document is approved then copy it to the communications list, else if it is rejected then delete it.  I have also tried putting these items in seperate steps, but no matter what I do it always copies the item to the communications list regardless of the document being approved or rejected and never deletes the previous version (as if that action doesnt even exist).  Any insight is greatly appreciated.  I'm a novice at this so please excuse my ignorance if the answer is obvious.  I'm still trying to gain a basic understanding of the relation between conditions, actions, steps, and such.
