I originally bought Office Pro 2007 32-bit version for my older PC with WindowsXP Operating System. Then, I bought a new PC with an i7 processor with Vista. Because I am in school I was able to get both SharePoint Designer 2007, SharePoint Server
2007, and SharePoint Services 3.0. The SharePoint Designer 2007 works well. However, the SharePoint Server 2007 and SharePoint Services 3.0 say they will not work with the 32-bit version of my Office Pro 2007 applications.
So far I have not been able to find where I may download a 64-bit upgrade to my Office Pro 2007 or a workaround for SharePoint. I chatted with a Microsoft representative but he was unable to help. This was frustrating because it cost $500.00
for the software and I do not have another $500.00 to spend on the 64-bit version of Office Pro 2007 after what I spent to get a newer system.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

when i opened my site am getting following error, but moss 2007 server is Licensed Verison.
We turned on the Office SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure feature on our MOSS 2007 (after we already had sites created) to allow users to be able to use features like excel services and reporting which both require this be activated the Publishing
feature to be turned on, In order to do this you have to activate the Office SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure feature at I beleive the top level site, however when we activate this feature it changes the templates and navigation
for all the existing SharePoint sites in our collection.
Is there a way to turn this feature on with out impacting existing site sites? Or am I doing something wrong that is causing this to happen? Basically I need to know how I can activate this option (Office SharePoint Server
Publishing Infrastructure) to just specific sites but not all or turn it on so it does not impact all sites?
I am getting "Error in PortalCrawl Web Service.
" error while crawling people [SSP] on MOSS 2007 box from Sharepoint 2010 box.
NOTE: I am able to crawl People i.e SSP application on other MOSS 2007 box successfully by following same steps which i am using to crawl above mentioned SSP which is giving error.
If anyone has faced similar error ,please suggest.
I have recently started testing Office 2010 and have found only 1 major issue - I cannot save any Office 2010 files opened from a SharePoint Server 2007 location. Upon save I receive an error message saying "Upload Failed. This file wan not uploaded
because the specified path was not found on the server." and the file is captured in the Microsoft Upload Center. Using the Upload Center action 'Open Web Site' opens the site without problem; however, a all subsequent resolve actions fail.

We will be implementing Document Search (DOC, DOCX, PDF, TIFF, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX) for one of our customers. We were evaluating a few MOSS 2007 based solutions, and happened to visit your site. What we intend to achieve are the following functionalities:
User should be able to search through 1000s of documents which are in a Sharepoint Document Library
The documents could be in English, International Languages.
Each document is 70-100 pages, and therefore it is important that the Search Results show the relevant pages on which the Search Text appears (Get Highlighted) within each document . Clicking on the link will take the user to the right
The additional requirement is Synonym search. So, I can search for
Deploying custom Web Parts on SharePoint 2007 production server I would like to develop a custom SharePoint 2007 Web Part for a client. Currently I'm using Visual Studio to deploy my solution to a test environment (since it's a SharePoint Project I choose just Build -> Deploy from the menu). What are the appropriate
steps to deploy it to the production server?
I'd like keep it simple and safe (i.e. use the principle of least privilege). Therefore (if possible) avoid using stsadm, achieve this through web interface, or avoid using administrative rights.
Also, can I specify the scope of my Web Part, i.e. choose on which Web Application or Site Collection will it be installed?
our sharepoint server needs to be restarted twice a day now - always around 9.30am and 14.30pm. this has only started in the last 2 weeks. its working along fine then all of a sudden it goes to a dead page.

it doesnt happen on weekends so it must have something to do with users using the system so im thinking something to do with the database (SQL Server 2000). NB users dont use our sp2007 on weekends.
if i restart iis, the layout of the page comes back but some of the webparts are dead so that doesnt work.
if i resart sql server, that doesnt work either.
there is plenty of room on drives and the task manager is at 20-30% when i check it when the site is down.
only a server resart seems to work.
