ASP.NET Proxy Page - Used for Cross Domain Requests from AJAX and JavaScript

The article ASP.NET Proxy Page - Used for Cross Domain Requests from AJAX and JavaScript was added by Aamir Hasan on Thursday, August 19, 2010.

One of the pain points with developing AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, and other client-side behaviors is that JavaScript doesn't allow for cross domain request for pulling content. For example, JavaScript code on www.johnchapman.name could not pull content

How do I preserve __viewstate between cross domain posts or how do I get a __viewstate of a Remote S

Here is what I want to do:
I have a local site in which I want to display data from a remote site
Lets say: I want to display data of http://www.abc.com/Default.aspx on my localhost

Now Default.aspx requires some post-data which it sends to itself. Thus the __viewstate and __eventvalidation are posted back to it by itself. I want to directly post the data to Default.aspx from localhost without opening Default.aspx and display the Default.aspx's response on my localhost.

The WebApp on http://www.abc.com is configured for __eventvalidation i.e. I cannot post-data to it from my localhost without getting a __viewstate from it. I also have to post the current __viewstate of http://www.abc.com/Default.aspx to itself

How can I accomplish it?

and

window.__doPostBackOld(arguments[0],arguments[1]);

both these methods are working fine in IE6 but failing in IE8 with a error: "Object or Property is not supported".

any solution would be appreciated!

Cross domain search

We have a need to search site A (WSS) hosted on an environment (domain A) from an SSP hosted on a totally separate environment and domain (MOSS 2007). Let us call the SSP domain as domain B. What kind of trust the domain B's search account need to have with respect to domain A? What kind of authentication site A needs to have? Is it possible to crawl site A with NTLM authentication or it has to be anonymous? Thanks

Cross browser Javascript Help ! (SWFObject)

Hey i have this JavaScript code:

Dynamic Data, Domain Services & POCOs...

I have a simple navigation property between two pocos (parent/child) and I'm using the [Key], [Include], [Association] attributes to notate the relationships. However, when DomainModelProvider attempts to load my model -- I get this error:

[InvalidOperationException: Can't find To column for column 'myColumnName'] Microsoft.Web.DynamicData.ModelProviders.DomainColumnProvider.Initialize() +649

Rather than parade my horribly broken code around -- I was wondering if anyone has a good resource or guides on how to use DomainService/Dynamic Data together using custom POCO models with 1:1/1:M relationships -- rather than EF/L2SQL driven data models. I figure I'd start there before giving up.

cross domain error in self hosted wcf service

 Hi

I get this error when trying to access a self hosted wcf service...

An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI 'http://localhost:2363/Service1.svc'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent. This error may also be caused by using internal types in the web service proxy without using the InternalsVisibleToAttribute attribute. Please see the inner exception for more details.

Can someone please explain what I need to do to get this to work, I do not have any cross domain policy file. And don't know how that is supposed to look like.

Question on Searching with Cross Farm Services

have to Sharepoint 2010 Farms - called FarmA and FarmB. Both farms have web applications and content. FarmA is also a publisher of the Search Service Application. It has been configured to crawl content in both FarmA and FarmB.

I have successfully published the Search Service and the consuming FarmB see results from both farms when I do a search from a Enterprise Search Center site collection. The issue that I'm having is that when I do the same search in FarmA, I only see results from FarmA. I'm not sure if the results are getting security trimmed. I am using different farm accounts for earch farm, though I am accessing both web applications with my account. Or is there some additional configuration required on FarmA to show results from FarmB.

Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advance Brian Denicola

Cross domain issues on iframes with WSS 3.0

Getting "A domain group is missing for one or more services" error when adding new node to existing

Hey all,

Current configuration:

2-node sql 2005 cluster

windows 2003 enterprise R2 w/ sp2 x64

sql 2005 enterprise x64 SP3

In the process of adding a third node into the existing 2-node cluster, we received the

"A domain group is missing for one or more services.  To install SQL 2005 as a failover cluster, domain groups must be specified for all the clustered services bing installed. To proceed, enter the missiong domain group information."

The existing cluster functions properly and has been running w/o problems for a long while now.  An AD Global Group was created to support the cluster back when the cluster was initially created.

I found different suggestions from people online about this issue, any where from adding registry keys to take trailing blank space from sql resource group name, but none works.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.
