Can someone point out a diagram that explains how the sql server architecture is layed out? Not how the different components such as SSMS, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS are related, BUT HOW THE INSTANCE RELATES TO THE PROCESS LAYER AND WHAT ALL COMPONENTS
ARE WITHIN ITS MEMORY LAYER, HOW ITS DIFFERENT COMPONENTS TALK TO THE DATAFILES, LOGFILES, CONFIG FILES AND SUCH.
In oracle, we have indepth documentation ON THE ARCHITECTURE, HOWEVER, ON SQL SERVER I DON'T SEEM TO FIND ANY. In my opinion, this is the most important kernel that needs to be understood. PLEASE HELP.
