Knowing the event occured in user control in current page

Hello,

      My web application has user control which uses third party controls called Devexpress controls. The user control is a menu  and is part of the Master page. It is placed there because this needs to be available in all the pages. My user controls raises a even on item clicked. Now, My question is that Is there any way to know that the event has occurred in page_load of the current page in which I am in?

IFrame onload event

The code below I am having problems with. I have a page with multiple views. When the 2nd view loads up I want an animated gif to appear untill the pages loads up in the iFrame.

In the onload event inside the iframe I try to call a javascript function. I get the following error when I try to call the javascript function:

'ASP.applications_onlinebillpay_payment_aspx' does not contain a definition for 'hideLoading' and no extension method 'hideLoading' accepting a first argument of type 'ASP.applications_onlinebillpay_payment_aspx' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

If I take out the runat="server" part it will work but I need to assign the src of the iframe in my c# code.

The code is:

<asp:View ID="View2" runat="server">
         <script type="text/javascript">
            function hideLoading() {
               alert('hi')
            }
         </script>

Why feature with event receiver doesn't activate properly after site provisioning?

Hi!

I have defined feature with event receivers for my document library and for users List .

I try to activate my feature in onet.xml in section <WebFeatures>. After provisioning a new site from onet.xml  all work fine and my feature is shown as activated, but event receivers doesn't fire. It fires only after reactivating my feature (deactivate, then activate it again). But I need my feature works immediately after site provisioning without deactivating and activating it again. Who knows how to solve this problem?

Feature Stapling and the FeatureActivated Event in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0

You can attach (or staple) a SharePoint Feature to a site definition without modifying the original site definition. Learn about issues related to using Feature Stapling with the SPFeatureReceiver.FeatureActivated event.

How to avoid viewstate in page load event??

Hello Everyone, Here Is my scenario,I haveMaster Page -> ASPX page -> User ControlUser control page is contains all dynamic bind controls (e.g Repeater) depended on ASPX Page (Only one parameter say ItemNo) The problem is, if I bound user control on page load event with passing respective parameters then it's create to much view state (I checked source file and it's almost 1.5 MB) In other way if I put one textbox, and a command button and I pass required parameter on button click and load the control then page size is ok (I checked and it's  < 500KB) So is it any way I can reduce my page/state size??

page init event

In the book pro asp.net it mentions:"In addition, if the page is not being requested for the firsttime (in other words, if it's a postback), ASP.NET deserializes the view state information and appliesit to all the controls.At this stage, the Page.Init event fires. However, this event is rarely handled by the web page,because it's still too early to perform page initialization. That's because the control objects may notbe created yet and because the view state information isn't loaded.""ASP.NET deserializes the view state information and applies it to all the controls."and "That's because the control objects may not be created yet and because the view state information isn't loaded."seems contradictory as if the view state is not loaded how come it is applied to the control?

Retracting feature which deployed custom master page delete default.master

Hi, I am not sure if solution to this issue is already posted? I have my feature which copy my custom.master which is copy of default.master from hive to master page gallery of web. The problem is that everything works fine with feature activate and deactivate but when I retract the solution from the server. All pages except site settings page stop working saying "file not found". I redeploy the solution, it starts working again. Looks like the retract is deleting default.master as well? I have this issue in 2010 as well. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Kashish

Anonymous Access to "Event Export" on sharepoint calendar display page

I am using a SharePoint calendar with events added in the list. When an anonymous user tries to use "Export Event" on the display page ,the user is prompted for a login. Is there a way that an anonymous user can download the .ics file without logging in ? Is anonymous access even possible ?

Accessing master page from content page? Raising Event?

Here is my situation:I have a user control that has a menu in it.  This user control sits on my master page.  It is my main navigation menu for my application.I am having an issue where, on one of my pages, users seem to be leaving the page before committing all changes to the database, which results in a loss of data.So what I want to accomplish is - if the user is leaving this page and the data has not been saved yet, I want to prompt the user and say something like "The information is not yet saved, are you sure you want to leave this page" in a modal popup.So my approach is this:In my menu user control, create an event handler called MenuClicked that is raised when the menu web control's (in the user control) MenuItemClicked is raised, I raise my custom MenuClicked event.Then on my master page, I can catch this event in NavMenu_MenuClicked.My problem is - I need to catch this event in my content page, not the master?Am I approaching this correctly?Thanks in advancesb

Retract custom master page feature and all site pages stop working

There is a requirement to apply custom branding on personal sites in a SP 2010 project. For this I have created a feature which uploads and applies the custom master page on creation of any new personal sites.   I have stapled this feature (using feature stapling concept) to the “SPSPERS” (personal site) site definition. The custom master page is displayed on the creation of new personal sites. On feature deactivation, I am looping through all the personal sites (as the feature is deployed on a team site) and pointing the master URL back to v4.master. But when I retract the solution and browse to the personal site, I am getting a “404 File not found” error.  But am able to view the settings page by typing the URL.   I activated the publishing features and looked at the master page applied to the personal site. It was pointing to v4.master.   Any help on this is appreciated. Regards, Neha

Running code after site definition site creation in a event receiver or feature receiver

Hi guys I've got a site definition which is pretty much based on STS.This is it's own sharepoint project. Let's call this project SiteDefProj. Next in another SharePoint project (same solution though). Let's call this CustomListProject. In this project I've got a feature which provisions a bunch of lists based on custom content types - this feature is a site scoped. Let's call this feature: CustomListInstances. I have added a feature receiver to this feature to execute some custom code on the lists themselves (under feature activated) In my ONET.XML (part of the SiteDefProj) I have CustomListInstances feature ID as part of my <sitefeatures>. When I do a create site I can actually step through the code and see it actually being executed but after the site is created the list instances are created but it's like the code never run or did anything. The weird part is that stepping through the code while creating a site collection using my SiteDefProj the code runs great with no errors. All lists are there and the code runs smooth. If I manually create a STS site and activate my feature everything works and the code does actually run and the effects are visible after the feature is created. Again I can actually step through it in debug. My suspicion is that there's some sort of a race condition in the CREATE SITE functionality where maybe the web or site collection hol
