SSRS 2008 R2 Dataset Field Value Property Data Type not numeric

We're building SSRS 2008 R2 reports using SSAS as data sources.  There are several occaissions where the data types of certain dataset field values that represent cube measures are not numeric.  As such, when these fields are used in an aggregate function they throw an error.  Is there a way to remedy this in the dataset? Thanks for your help.

Display Property Type in EDM

Is it possible to display the data type of an entities properties in the Designer?  For instance I have a dateofbirth property for my Person Entity. In the designer I want it to show "dateofbith    datetime"

This would be helpful when printing out the entity model to paper.

Property Array of other Property Type

I am making use of two property classes, between them one is type is that of other property array type, it has the following code:

public class Entities
        private Property[] employeeInfo;
        public Property[] EmployeeInfo

The property 'Label' was not found in type 'RibbonCheckBox'

I am using the Ribbon (v3.5.31016.1) in one application and I was trying to use some checkboxes, however it says that the checkbox has not got the property LABEL?

 <r:RibbonCheckBox x:Name="chkBox" Label="My check box" Click="chkBox_Click"></r:RibbonCheckBox>

How should I display the text for the ribboncheckbox?

Web Part property of type "Managed Metadata"

I want to build a custom web part where the user filters the results by selecting a term from a managed metadata property. I want this property to appear in that "Edit Web Part" property panel.

I know if I want to expose a simple string property, I just add the following attributes:

WebDescription("Select the category to filter your results.")]

public string Filter{

How do you do the same thing...but with a managed metadata datatype?

(Not to confuse the question...but the managed metadata datatype I want to show is defined as a Site Column. How can I expose that to a web part property?)

Any help would be appreciated.

Passing a user defined type property to WCF contract

i have a class with a user defined type as follow.

[DataContract(Namespace = "a.com")]
  public class Order : IOrderDescription, INotifyPropertyChanged
    public static OrderLimitations OrderLimits { get; set; }
    public OrderLimitations ThisOrderLimits { get; set; }
    public OrderAlgorithmDescription AlgoDescription { get; set; }

 [DataContract(Namespace = "a.com")]
  public class OrderAlgorithmDescription
    public OrderAlgorithmName AlgorithmName { get; set; }
    public DateTime UTCStartTime { get; s

Determine node type selected in TreeView and reading property values

I am hoping that someone can help me get past some problems I am having when using the WPF TreeView control.  I have a TreeView that at most can have 3 levels.  The levels are defined as Project, Discipline, Person which would look like the following:

+ Project

    + Discipline

        - Person

My TreeView is bound to a database using two HierarchicalDataTemplate's and then one DataTemplate (the binding is done in the XAML).

What I would like to get is the following information when selecting an item:

  1. Read the selected value (text of the selected node)
  2. Binding an ObjectDataSource to a property in aspx code, not code-behind

    This should be simple to do, but I haven't been able to find a solution.

    I want to bind an ObjectDataSource to a property in my asp page and I want to do it in the page's aspx code, not in code-behind. I've already done it in code-behind, as follows:

    protected void Page_InitComplete(object sender, EventArgs e)
       odsBooks.DataSource = SelectedBook;

    I'd prefer to get rid of the ugly code-behind and just do this in mark-up. Something like

    <asp:ObjectDataSource ID="odsBooks" runat="server"

    This gives me a run-time error: Cannot create an object of type 'System.Object' from its string representation 'SelectedBook' for the 'DataSource' property.

    Is there a way of doing this declaratively and not in code-behind?

    Further, what if what I want is to actually use a child property of the property in question? For example, if my Book object has a ReaderComments collection, can I databind to it decaratively in the aspx mark-up?

Could not find a property on the type specified by the DataObjectTypeName property

Hi - I need some help:

1. I'm using a ListView using an ObjectDataSource which has CRUD operations implemented by a biz objects layer sitting between the UI and the SQL DB.

2. The Biz Objects layer consists of partial classes which extend the functionality of a series of entity objects created by Linq2SQL.

3. The ObjectDataSource makes use of DataObjectTypeName which is set to the resume_school entity object generated by Linq2SQL.

4. The resume_school object has a property - "school" which is a child entity - also created by Linq2SQL.  The school object has it's own properties and is related to the resume_school object via a relationship created by their common "school_id" fields.

5. I am successfully using, as an example <%# Eval("school.school1") %> to bind to a label control embedded in the Select Template.

6. Similarly, I am successfully using <%# Bind("school.school1") %> to bind to a textbox control embedded in the Edit Template.

7. Both of these find and return the correct data from the DB.

8.  When I click on "Update" while in Edit Mode, I get the following error msg:

Could not find a property named 'school.school1' on the type specified by the DataObjectTypeName property in ObjectDataSource 'ObjectResumeEducationData'.

Field type is not installed properly - CustomFieldType Error

Hi All,

I've been working on creating a custom field type on one of my companies WSS sites. The field is a supposed to be a RegEx text field. I've built my type using the book Developer's Guide to Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 Chapter 15 as my example.

I can post my code if needed, but figured I'd put out feelers before I went that far just to make sure that there isn't some common problem with loading custom field types that I should be aware of.

So far I've been able to get my custom field type to build and load into WSS but when I try to add the new type as a column in a list I get the error message -"Field type RegExpTextField is not installed properly. Go to the list settings page to delete this field. "

Thanks for any help

TreeSelector : playing with generics and type inference

create a generic way to define a selection starting from a tree of objects, the most simpler way as possible.

Let's start with the beginning...
Here is a very simple little interface defining a node of the tree, basically, a value and the references to the child nodes.

UnTyped DataSets and Strongly Type DataSets

We all are use datasets as a means of carrier of data from one layer to another. Most of the time we are using weakly typed datasets. In this article I will explain the differences between weakly typed datasets and strongly type datasets

WPF / Silverlight tutorial: Visibility property and binding

Visibility property is a very powerful and yet often overlooked property available in both WPF and Silverlight. It enables you to set Visibility of certain UIElement objects to different states like: Visible, Collapsed and Hidden (not supported by Silverlight). This tutorial shows you how to use it and how to bind to Visibility property

abstract away the source of the connection string using a class with a static property.

ASP.NET provides a configuration system we can use to keep our applications flexible at runtime. In this article we will examine some tips and best practices for using the configuration system for the best results.

The element of a web.config file is a place to store connection strings, server names, file paths, and other miscellaneous settings needed by an application to perform work. The items inside appSettings are items that need to be configurable depending upon the environment, for instance, any database connection strings will change as you move your application from a testing and staging server into production.

Let's abstract away the source of the connection string using a class with a static property.

Get pixel format, raw format, property id list and property items image in VB.net - C#.net.

n this simple article you will learn that how we can get pixel format, raw format, property id list and property items image in VB and C#.net.

Get Pixel Format:

Image consists of pixels to get the format of the pixel we have a property named pixel format. This property returns an enumeration of pixel format. This enumeration tells the pixel format.

To demonstrate make a window application. Drag one button and a picture box on form.

Now write the following code on Button click event:

Gmail style multiple Sign-in type combo...is it possible in asp.net?
