I just installed SQL Server 2008 R2. When I try to connect to the server i get the following error message:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.
(provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 2)
The Server Name is filled in automatically and I've been told it's my computer's name. It's correct so I don't understand why I can't connect. Can anyone please give me some guidance? I'm not technical in SQL Server so I need a step by
step. Thank you in advance!!
