SharePoint 2010 Central Admin--Create/Extend Web Application button on Ribbon are disabled

Is there a way to remove SharePoint Designer from the Ribbon in document libraries or even in the Site Actions > Edit in SharePoint Designer. The business wants that removed.

Hi all, i have a problem that hopefully someone has an answer to.  i am not too familiar with sharepoint so please excuse my ignorance. we have sharepoint 2010 on a windows 2008r2 server.  everything seems to work fine.  but as you know, the default database names are horrendous.  i have managed to rename all of them, except for the "search service application" admin database. the default is: Search_Service_Application_DB_<guid> the other 2 databases (crawl and property) were renamed without a problem. we are following the article from technet on how to rename the search service admin db (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-nz/library/ff851878%28en-us%29.aspx).  it says to enter the following command: $searchapp | Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication -DatabaseName "new database name" -DatabaseServer "dbserver" however, i get an error about identity being null.  no big deal, i add the -Identity switch and the name of my search service application.  but the real problem comes the error it throws:   Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication : The requested database move was aborted as the associated search application is not paused. I'm having problems when I open certain things up in Central admin To name a couple each time I open backup or Configure service accounts I get this The specified user or domain group was not found. Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation. Hi Guys, I am relatively new to MOSS and have started investigating the product. I had MOSS 2010 fully funtioning in a test environment and had an issue with authentication. Each time a user accessed the site for the time, they would be prompted for a username and password. I then came across an article that indicated i should enable Kerberos authentication in Central Admin. I did this but once the configuration completed i could no longer access Central admin. The normal site sites are available and functioning. What could the issue be? thank you,

I installed and successfully setup development environment in win 7 ultimate through PowerShell. When I tried to create new web application in “Manage web application” option of central admin, I found “New” button greyed out. I applied all the solution while browsing internet:

1.       I run internet explorer as administrator

SharePoint 2010 provides new user interface components, such as server ribbons, and the new dialog platform. As a developer, you can create controls for the server ribbon and dialog boxes for the dialog platform.

I've got a Windows 2008 SP2 server runing x64.

When i try to access the SharePoint Central Admin site, I just get a blank page. No errors in the Windows logs, nothing showing up in the SharePoint logs. The IIS log shows a 500 error.
