VS 2008 IDE does not see the AsyncPostBackTrigger class

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I am trying to work with the AJAX AsyncPostBackTrigger class in the System.Web.Extensions 3.5assembly. I am in VS 2008 and the project is targeted for .NET 3.5.

In the IDE, the source for Default.asp, I am getting a warning (wavy green line) for the <Triggers> tag and the <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger> tag. The cue for the Triggers tag is "XHTML 1.0 Transitional - element triggers is not supported".

for the other tag it is saying it is not a known element. Intellisense doesn't even list the <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger>

Anybody have any suggestions what I may be missing? The System.Web.Extensions v 3.5 is listed in the Web.Config file and is in the project references.

Thanks

SSIS 2008 generates Class not registered

I am getting the following error in SQL Server 2008 R2 (build 10.50.1734) x86 platform BI Development Studio (BIDS) 9.0.30729.4462 with .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 in a Integration Services project Data Source View table when I attempt to Explore Data: Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)) This happens on a Windows 7 Professional workstation x86 platform, (but has not been observed on Windows XP). The error occurs on Data Source Views bound to a Data Source connected to a SQL Server 2005 SP3 (build 9.0.4053) and SQL Server 2008 R2 server (I'm sure it's not a server issue, but a workstation issue). I have successfully unregistered and re-registered DTS.DLL and DTSComm.DLL in the registry, with no resolution to the issue. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.Greg

Error on VS 2008 Class Library project: are you missing an assembly reference?)

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb153523(office.12).aspx Working with ASP.NET 2.0 Web Parts and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Based on the above MSDN Walkthrough, I created a Class Library VS 2008 project. When clicking the Build menu, 11 errors on System.Web.Security etc popped up.  What's wrong? *********************************************** using   System; using System.Web; using System.Web.Security; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts; using System.Web.UI.HtmlControls; Error 1 The type or namespace name 'Security' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Web' (are you missing an assembly reference?) SSRS 2008 configuration Manager - "Invalid Class"

Reporting Services Configuration Manager is throwing an error when I try to "Find" the server. The manager starts up and takes me to the "Reporting Services Configuration Connection" window. I click on the "Find" button (leaving the default comptuer name as-is; the local machine)  and get the error message "Invalid Class" with the title "Reporting Services Configuration Manager".

I've been searching around the interner and only found one forum post with a similar problem to my own. It was on this forum and the advice seemed to be pointing towards a problem with WMI, but it seemed that the user never found a solution. I've downloaded and ran the WMI diagnostics program and the log does contain quite a few warnings, but I don't know how to go about solving most of them. I did run regsvr32 on some dll files though :)

I won't post any logs yet, as I have no idea where the problem may be based. Please advise and I will post the required information.

SSRS 2008 Web Service Datasource doesn't return embedded class

Hello,

I am building reports with SSRS 2008 using web services as datasource.

Let me explain my design:

I have 2 classes:

public class Employee

{ public string fname;

public string lnamel;

public Department dept;

}

public class Department

{public string name;

}

i have this function as a web method:

public Employee GetEmployee(string lastname)

{
      Employee emp = new Employee();
      // I query the DB and return the result in a datatable
     // I then bind the table fields to my Employee object
     return emp;

}

When I test the service, it return the employee's info and his/her dept info as well.

But when i test the dataset in the report, it only return the employee's info and not the department info.

Any suggestion?

Thanks a lot!!!

When to use Interface instead of class, in VS 2008

Hi,

Why do we use Interface instead of class in VS 2008?

What between about Interface and class in VS 2008,high performance?

Is it a bug in Visual Studio 2008 in WPF Designer when binding to enum defined inside of class?

Hello,

I have following problem:

when defining an enumeration inside of class (either static class or not) I can bind to this enum, however the WPF Designer inside Visual Studio does not display designed GUI anymore and show an error Type "MyClass+MyEnum" was not found.

However I can compile and execute the code and in the combobox all enum- values are listed.

Code behind:

    public class MyClass
    {
        public enum MyEnum { enumValue01, enumValue02, enumValue03, enumValue04, enumValue05 }
    }

My xaml-code:

<Window x:Class="SampleBindingOfNestedEnumToComboBox.Window1"
    xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
    xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"

Deploy .NET 4.0 class library to SQL Server 2008... failed verification

I’m trying to deploy .NET 4.0 class library to SQL server and I’m getting an error:

“CREATE ASSEMBLY for assembly 'PayBack' failed because assembly 'PayBack' failed verification. Check if the referenced assemblies are up-to-date and trusted (for external_access or unsafe) to execute in the database. CLR Verifier error messages if any will follow this message”

When I change target framework to 3.5 everything is ok – Is .NET 4.0 not supported on SQL Server 2008?

debug and class diagram question, visual studio 2008

Hi. Im working on a project where there are a lot of imported dll's from a company that have e-soultions. now some times when i debug i get to a dead end when a class or method is used from their project. They supplied me with their sourcecode so i got that, now the question is can i somehow debug in my main project and to trace it to their project if i got the source code? (hope im clear on what i want to do)

second question is that i want to print all the classes and inherits, can i get that somehow with the different relations between classes straigh out of visual studio? i know about class diagram but it dont show relations.

thanks for reply

Class Diagrams

Class diagrams show the static structure of the systems. Classes define the properties of the objects which belong to them. These include:

Attributes - (second container) the data properties of the classes including type, default value and constraints.

Creating a Simple Class in C#

The second article in the C# Object-Oriented Programming tutorial describes how classes are created in C# and how behaviour, in the form of publicly visible and private, hidden methods can be added. This demonstrates some of the uses of encapsulation

Static Class for Beginners

In general, the members of a class can be accessed by instance of that class when they are in public, but there comes a situation to access or call members of a class without an instance and this can be achieved by declaring them as static

Using Conditional Split data Transfer in SSIS 2008

This article uses the Integration Services Conditional Split Data Transformation element to filter and transfer data from a set of flat text files to SQL Server database table. The concept can be easily extended to apply to any other source or destination such as Microsoft Excel. This scenario is useful in creating denormalized database tables in a reporting and analysis situation.

abstract away the source of the connection string using a class with a static property.

ASP.NET provides a configuration system we can use to keep our applications flexible at runtime. In this article we will examine some tips and best practices for using the configuration system for the best results.

The element of a web.config file is a place to store connection strings, server names, file paths, and other miscellaneous settings needed by an application to perform work. The items inside appSettings are items that need to be configurable depending upon the environment, for instance, any database connection strings will change as you move your application from a testing and staging server into production.

Encapsulation
Let's abstract away the source of the connection string using a class with a static property.

Seven reasons to care about SQL Server 2008 R2

Microsoft begins to fully realize its vision of SQL Server as an information platform and not "just" a database. Hence the main theme for this release -- at least according to Microsoft -- is self-service BI. The PowerPivot plug-ins for Excel 2010 and SharePoint 2010 are easily going to make the biggest splash of all the new features, not least because they're the most complete. But then, SQL Server 2008 R2 isn't strictly necessary for PowerPivot for Excel, which works with plenty of other data sources.
