connect to PC-NAME\SQLEXPRESS. A network-related or instance-specific
error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server

When I ran this query from SQL 2000 it takes 1 second. now in SQL 2008 R2 the same query is 20 times slower.
This is the query and the numer of records and the time in SQL 2008 R2:
SELECT * FROM dbo.CxP_Saldos
0 seconds, 923 Rows
SELECT * FROM S_Conta.Cuentas
0 seconds, 662 Rows
SELECT * FROM S_Conta.Cuentas c INNER JOIN dbo.CxP_Saldos s ON c.id = s.CtaProv
18 seconds, 923 Rows
how can I submit the actual execution Plan?
I know how to take total database backup in SQL server 2008 and SQL Server Management Studio Environment but i failed to take single table backup in database.
It is possible to take single table backup in Oracle using PL/SQL Developer IDE.
Thanks in Advance.....
Restart Server that DB is running on
Restart workstation that SQL Server 2008 Management Studio is running on
Start SQL Server 2008 and open file I'm editing
Edit the SQL file while while monitoring memory and processor usage on the workstation
Processor starts to spike, intellisense stops working, memory usage begins to climb to an absurd amount ~7G, management studio becomes almost nonresponsive (i.e. I can type and the text takes 30 seconds to 5 minutes to show up)
After about 30 mintues, memory usage drops to around 1.5G and management studio becomes semi-usable again. Intellisense sometimes goes back to working, sometimes everything has to be restarted again.
I've been working on this exact setup for 7 months now and this problem is new. No, I am not executing any statements - I am editing text only.
I see that Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express with Tools has SSME 2008 already included. I have SQL Server 2008, but need SS Management Studio 2008, is that download available yet? Because I can't seem to find it.
Or should I just download Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express with Tools, and if I do, will it just overwrite the existing one or do I need to remove it?
Thanks for your help!
We have SQL server 2008 installed in a virtual server and I just want to download tools for querying etc...om my pc. I downloaded the SQL Server 2008 Managemnt Express and installed the tools. My DBA is saying remove the express install and install the tools
from the full version. Is he correct or could I have used the SSME install to query the full version?
