Data Driven Subscription problem - sub runs slowly, has 40 errors out of 300, but report server trac

I have two report servers and a single separate SQL Server 2008 server hosting the data source database and the report server catalogues. There is a data driven subscription that runs off a sproc that returns 300 rows with email addresses for this report to be emailed to. The report itself contains around 30 subreports each with its own sproc to retrieve data. As the report is executing there are long pauses between the times when emails are actually sent out, and the subscription status will finally end with something like "Done: 300 processed of 300 total; 40 errors." I am not sure how to go about troubleshooting this problem. Details: I kicked it off at (say) 2:00 PM. Within 3 minutes in the report server execution log I saw 300 entries. There were exactly 300 people who should receive reports, so the master report should have executed 300 times and sent out 300 emails. So this looked good in the execution log. But when I checked report manager's status page for the subscription it was listed as processing 50 out of 300... Then all activity stopped, about 15 minutes some more reports started emailing out, and now I see there are around 590 rows in the execution log and maybe 97 emails sent out... Then finally I get a grand total of 846 rows in the execution log and a grand total of 260 of 300 emails sent out with 40 errors so 260+40=300 exactly. The time betw

Dynamics Ax report mail subscription error

I created a Dynamics Ax report. In this report some axapta static functions are called. When I run the report in browser it shows data normal. I created for this report email subscription(Setted the execution account). In the email is attached the report in pdf format, but for textboxes where it has to show data with results from axapta functions it shows "#Error". Running the report from link attached in mail shows data normal(Without"#Error"). What can be the solution for this problem?   The error from Event viewer: "The complete data cache has been flushed to request from session 13".

Disabling Export option for a single individual SSRS report

HI Forum Members,

I read some discussions on disabling Export option in SSRS for an individual report.
Some said to go into the Report Properties in the Design tab and write below code:
Set ReportViewer.ShowExportControls = false;

I'm new for SSRS apart from doing some adhoc reports - So, i'm confused here. Where should i write this code?
Can any one help me.

SSRS 2008 R2 After using SSL, In Report Manager new datasource link, upload file link, subscription

I have provided my setting and environment information below. My goal is to set Report Manager and Report Server URL with SSL connection so all URLs uses HTTPS (Secure connection) all the time. and remove HTTP access .

I applied following settings for this but I am getting errors. With Current Settings that I mensioned below, I am able to login into WebService URL successfully with all links working. For Report Manager URL  I logged in successfully but for some pages I am getting HTTP links instead HTTPS. It shows HTTP links for new datasource link, upload file link, subscription links so it shows blank page

I tried to look for solution and I applied but did not worked. I did some experiment with changing urls using application and manually from RSReportServer.config file but still not succedded.

Steps taken to solve problem:

  • To force to use HTTPS only, I tried to change SecureConnectionLevel = 0 to  1,2 or 3 but when accessing to Report Manager it gives 401 Authentication error.
  • If I remove http://+:80/ReportServer and tried to visit 2nd URL with HTTPS. The Web Service URL opens successfully. but Report Manager url gives me er

Error for delivering a report via email by using the data-driven subscription

I have created a SSRS 2005 report to export in the Excel format as a batch execution. I have made a data-driven subscription, I have specified the from mail address (with my address) and the smtp server in the RS configuration tool, I have set the SQL Server Agent account with my domain user, but I have an error about the from address is refused from the server and the client was not authenticated. I have tried to specify the IP for the smtp server.

Any suggests to me in order to solve this issue, please? Many thanks

How to not send subscription report if no data

I have a report that may or may not have data. I have a subscription setup for this report. The subscription has a defined To list. I would like to NOT send the report if there is no data on the report. I did this in SQL 2000 by raising an error from the stored procedure if there was no data. However, that approach does not seem to work with 2005. Is there another way to accomplish this?

is there a way to disable ALL report schedules at once?

is there any way for me to disable ALL scheduled report runs at once? I'm in the process of migrating from 2000 to 2008 and I'd like to enable reports one at a time, at least initially, just to be sure everything is working. Then once we're sure it's all working I'd like to re-enable the schedules.

How To Disable Workflow Report

When workflows run, you have the workflow history to see what items ran and if they were completed, cancelled or still in progress.

If you click on either the name of the workflow or it's status, it takes you to another page where your workflows are itemized with 2 options namely the Activity Duration Report and the Cancellation & Error Report . Beside these options is an icon that shows the content is going to be an xml content.

Typically, Activity Duration Report shows "ERROR, report contains no data". This is absolutely fine by me, at least the message is helpful, it tells the user sorry there is nothing here. That's totally cool.

BUT, the Cancellation & Error Report returns a whole lot of xml strings, which is not helpful to the user. It's just scary! Now I have a user who treats my project as a project and does testing, and as well keeps a scary list known as BUGS and SNAGS LIST . This list scares everyone because it grows daily. Now the users wants this item, this xml stuff out, you get the picture?

How do I do that? Thanks.

Calling different report parameters in a data-driven subscription

is it possible to change specific report parameters in a data-driven subscription on a per subscriber basis?

For instance I have a report with 3 parameters, when scheduling Joe I would like to select value A for parameter 1, User harry should have value B for parameter 2

I'm using sql server 2005 enterprise, when reading the MS data-driven subscription example I can only enter users and export format
