I have a client who is connected to a database which has synonyms referencing tables in a different database on the same server. The client used SPSS wizard to see the table & views. Anyway, SPSS wizard shows buttons called tables, views, & synonyms
and when client checks either the table or views buttons, they can see the tables and views. But when they click on the synonyms button, no synonyms show up even though they are in the database.
I've recently been approached to assist in some statistical analysis of customer survey data. The team doing the analysis is trained in statistical mathematics and their newest member has a wealth of experience with tools such as SPSS and Minitab. She is
keen to purchase a statistical analysis tool to perform trend analysis, exception analysis, pattern analysis etc. and has asked if we have such a tool that could do the same job for a lot less dollars.
My question is, can you perform the same analysis in Analysis Services. Excel or Reporting Services as you can in purpose built statisical analysis packages? Are there models pre-built which can be added to the Microsoft tools set to assist?
