Would Like To Programmatically Obtain The Same Information As CorFlags

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 15, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

When you use CorFlags to obtain the CLR Header information of an assembly you see something like...

Version : v2.0.50727
CLR Header: 2.5
PE : PE32
CorFlags : 3
32BIT : 1
Signed : 0

Version : v2.0.50727
CLR Header: 2.5
PE : PE32
CorFlags : 1
32BIT : 0
Signed : 0

Version : v2.0.50727
CLR Header: 2.5
PE : PE32+
CorFlags : 1
32BIT : 0
Signed : 0

This information lets you see what platform the assembly was targeted for (x86, AnyCPU or x64), on what .NET Framework version it was built and what CLR version it was made.

I am hoping to be able to do the same without loading the assembly.  While I can use the PECOFF_V8.DOCX to inspect an assembly for the PE value, I have not been able to determine how to find either of the following:

    (1) 32BIT flag

    (2) either the VERSION information OR the CLR HEADER information

similar to what CorFlags p

How to get more information about the exceptions that can happen in SharePoint 2010 projects?

In case there is an exception anywhere in the SharePoint 2010 project (most common place an exception would happen is during deployment of your SharePoint project, custom deployment configuration or custom deployment steps), there's a registry key EnableDiagnostics available for you to use.

How to programmatically add controls to Windows forms at run time by using Visual C#

Create a Windows Forms Application
Start Visual Studio .NET or Visual Studio 2005 or a later version, and create a new Visual C# Windows Application project named WinControls. Form1 is added to the project by default.
Double-click Form1 to create and view the Form1_Load event procedure.
Add private instance variables to the Form1 class to work with common Windows controls. The Form1 class starts as follows:

Information about sessions

Some questions about sessions:

I know sessions information is stored in the form of cookie and you can use qurystring for that if you set cookieless session in web.config. But I don't exactly understand the scope of a session.

What I believe is when you login to a website, a session cookie is created and the scope of that session is within that page only. If you close the browser that session gets killed and when you open the browser again and go to that site then a new session is created ie a new session is created on every request. Is this correct?

But I have seen in many websites, even if you close the browser and open it again the session is not killed, how does that happen?

Can anyone clear out and explain the scope/lifetime of sessions

using the linqDataSource control programmatically (dynamically)

my scenario is this: I want to use the linqDataSource control to bind data to a gridview for it's efficient built-in paging and sorting features *but* I don't want the data to be bound until the user has input various search parameters, so I need to bind the data from a button click event. Also, the search options will be somewhat complex in that there will be several optional search parameters, via various dropdowns and textboxes, so I can't just declaratively/statically setup all the WHERE parameters on the linqDataSource (at least I'm assuming I can't, or that it may result in poor performance if I do and just assign default values like the everything wildcard '%' for the cases the user doesn't use a particular search parameter). Given that brief description, here is an example of what I'm doing, but with only one WHERE parameter for simplicity, the real code will be adding anywhere from 1 to about 12 WHERE parameters depending on how the user sets the search options in the GUI.

the linqDataSource on the aspx page:

<asp:LinqDataSource ID="ldsMain" runat="server"
        Select="new (field1, field2, field3, etc..)"

ERROR [HY000] [Informix .NET provider][Informix]Database locale information mismatch

Hi, there is an upgrade to my infimacs server and my web application encounter this error after the infimacs is upgraded.

Below is the information on the server before/after the upgrade.

Before            After

---------       -----------

Solaris 8      Solaris 10

IDS 9.40     IDS 11.50

The web server where the web application hosted is running IBM Informix Connect 2.81. There is no such error before the upgrade is done.

As a developer, i have IBM Informix Client-SDK 2.90 installed on my local pc and debug the page where the read is needed from infimacs but no such error found.

The error come out only when it is hosted on the web server where IBM Informix Connect 2.81 is installed.

I have gone through many articles and it suggest me to set the environement  variable in the server :  DB_LOCALE=en_us.819.

I haven't try this solution but i think that this might not be the best solution.

Is it possible to to to have this settin

MS Ent Lib:How do I obtain the ServerName associated with the DBCommand object?

The application I am currently working on uses Microsoft Enterprise Library Data Access block for Data Access.

I have pasted the following method to provide context:

 public static DataSet ExecuteDataSet(string connection, string procName)
            DataSet ds = null;
                SqlDatabase db = new SqlDatabase(connection);
                DbCommand dbCommand = db.GetStoredProcCommand(procName);
                ds = db.ExecuteDataSet(dbCommand);
                return ds;
            catch (Exception ex)
               //Exception handling code

In the next release we are planning to use SQL Server 2008 R2 as our database and we will be implementing mirroring to provide automatic failover.

I have been tasked with rewriting the DAL to take advantage of this.

A sample  connection string used by the application today is as below:

How to send an email with information in query string

First I will say I googled (Binged to make Bill happy) for this but could not find anything, perhaps I am not stating what I need correctly;

I have a website that a customer creates orders (for a printing company) and after the order, I would like to email the customer a link to view the status of their order;

I need to send the CustomerID in the link so on the returning page if a CustomerID is detected in the querystring, I "auto login" the client and open the "Dashboard" for the order page for that customer.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to send the link and how to parse the querystring to get the values from the link;

Thank you if you can point me in the right direction.

Problem to obtain client IP on web service

I'm having problems to obtain the client IP on web service. Here's my scenario:

One server with Windows 2003, hosting the web service using .Net Framework 2.0, with IP and host name ServerTransaction.
Other server with Windows 2003, hosting a web application using .Net Framework 2.0, that consuming the web service on  ServerTransaction, with IP and host name ServerApplication.
Many other computers on the local network (IPs:,,, ...) acessing the web application on ServerApplication.

On the code of the web service I've tried to use HttpContext.Current.Request.UserHostAddress or HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_ADDR") or HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FORR"), but always I can only get the IP of ServerApplication (

Any idea or tip?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.
