WebBrowserControl goes Disabled.

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 15, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Windows Application

Thanks for helping me with my previous issue . Now I am facing another issue.

I am using a WebBrowser control in a windows form to display a DOCX file. When I call WebBrowserControl.Navigate method, the document is displayed, but the WebBrowser controls goes disabled. The users can't scroll the document, which makes their life difficult. This is happening only in some machines, and in others it is working fine. I have compared the settings in the machines, but couldn't find any thing of value.

I am using IE6 and Office 2003 with Compatibility Pack. I have tried this in machines, which have Office 2007 installed, but with no luck.

Could any one please help me with this issue? Any help is very much appreciated.

Browse Button is disabled

I have created a BDC using Application Definition Editor. The connectivity with the Oracle database worked well when setting it up. I was also able to successfully create the BDC Column

But when I try to add a new record, the Browse Button next to Check Names is disabled. What could be the issue?

Fix: LinkButton Doesn't Looked Disabled in ASP.NET 4

I couldn't figure out why the LinkButtons in my former ASP.NET 3.5 site suddenly wouldn't look disabled even though I was setting lnkbtn.Enabled = False   The quick fix was to check the web.config file to ensure a new ASP.NET 4 setting: <pages  controlRenderingCompatibilityVersion ="3.5"       clientIDMode="AutoID"> I'm not sure how controlRenderingCompatibilityVersion disappeared from the web.config, but, as you know, *&$% happens...(read more)

Posting back a disabled button

Folks, I have a control which inherits from LinkButton and I'm trying to make sure that the user cannot cause mayhem by performing multiple postbacks.  That seemed an easy enough challenge, so I have this code [snippet] on the client:

ButtonClicked: function () {
    if (this._DisableOnClick == true) {
        this.get_element().disabled = 1;
        this.get_element().style.cursor = 'wait';
    else {
        alert('Posting back');

The alert is of course only there for debugging.  If the DisableOnClick value is false, then I see the "Posting Back" alert and, when I click ok, the postback occurs - all good.

If the DisableOnClick value is true, then the "button" gets disabled and the cursor turns into an hourglass - again good.  But the postback doesn't happen - not good.  I assume that the ASP client code is trying to help by preventing the postback when it sees that the link is disabled.

So, how can I either:

  • Persuade the LinkButton to postback even though it has just been disabled; or
  • [probably better] Get my client code to execute immediately after the postback code rather than before.

With Anonymous access disabled, is there any way to use an AJAX-enabled WCF Service?

I have a website where anonymous access is disabled but I want to user an ajax-enabled WCF service. Configuring the service's binding security to use "TransportCredentialOnly" with clientCredentialType="Windows" seems like the obvious thing to do; indeed, many posts in various places suggest this approach. Unfortunately, however, it doesn't work. I always get the error "Security settings for this service require 'Anonymous' Authentication but it is not enabled for the IIS application that hosts this service." How can I configure the service to function correctly. I'm running IIS 7.5 with .Net framework 4.0. Thanks.

A FocusScope Nightmare (Bug?): Commands Are Disabled

I've got a simple menu with some simple commands:   Code Snippet <Menu> <MenuItem Header="Edit"> <MenuItem Command="ApplicationCommands.Cut" /> <MenuItem Command="ApplicationCommands.Copy" /> </MenuItem> </Menu>     I've got a simple control:   Code Snippet <UserControl x:Class="WpfApplication2.UserControlRed" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <Grid /> </UserControl>     The code-behind for this control enables handling the 'Cut' command: Code Snippet   public partial class UserControlRed : UserControl { public UserControlRed() { InitializeComponent(); this.CommandBindings.Add(new CommandBinding(ApplicationCommands.Cut, this.OnCut, this.OnAlwaysExecute)); } public void OnCut(object sender, RoutedEventArgs routedEventArgs) { Console.WriteLine("Cut"); } private void OnAlwaysExecute(object sender, CanExecuteRoutedEventArgs e) { e.CanExecute = true; } }     This control is added to a simple page so it can be navigated to using a Frame:   Code Snippet <!-- The Menu Commands are enabed with this code. --> <Page x:Class="WpfApplication2.PageRed" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x=&

Recovery of Database Disabled SQL Agent, Cannot Detach Database, Etc... Please Help

I am a beginner SQL user, as the company laid off the IT guy and I am stuck with this.  So I really need some help on this one.  Any ideas would be appreciated. I was doing a merge join command to put data from one database to another.  These are 60GB databases with valuable data.  Halfway through I was told by client to just stop the query.  I did this but it left the good database with a large 80GB log file. When I rebooted the machine the recovery of this database took 5-10 minutes...  Thus the SQL Agent disabled itself waiting for recovery.  After recovery was 100% complete with no errors SQL Agent will not restart.  I can do a force turn on using a "1" statement, but the SQL Agent log file says it is still waiting for recovery. In any event, I cannot detach the database because it says 1 user connected.  I cannot backup, drop, etc...  I saw in one forum a guy said to turn service off, copy database to a new location, turn service back on, delete the database, attach copied database...  But I am a little worried about deleting. Once again - I am a SQL newbie and really need a pointer on this one.  I need to free this database and get a it back to a normal sized log file. Advice???

Excel Web Part - different Powerpivot Slicer disabled tue to sharepoint users

Hello, first of all i'm new to sharepoint. I found quite similar question to mine http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepoint2010general/thread/9f23a77c-1527-48a8-abbc-2ccded736d9e but unfortunately it hasn't been answered. So what i have done so far: I made a Excel 2010 Powerpivot chart and Published it to sharepoint via the Powerpivot gallery. I also created a Excel web part with the spreadsheed in it. I am searching for a vba script to achieve the sharepoint username but found only some for the windows username. I also managed to disable slicers in vba. What i want to achieve: Due to the fact that the Powerpivot chart has some critical security data in it the different users should only see two different filter options (whole data and one slice for themself) So i need to disable slicers in the pivot chart tue to the sharepoint accounts. My Qestion: Is it possible? If yes, how! Any help would be appreciated. Is it possible via VBA or do i have to use Excel web scervices?  Thanks for your help :)

SSMS 2008 & Activity Monitor's Processor Time graph is disabled

Hi,I just upgraded one of my SQL 2005 clusters to SQL 2008 with CU9.  Now, when I connect to it with SSMS, either from my workstation or directly on a cluster node, the % Processor Time graph in the Activity Monitor screen is disabled.  The other three graphs are fine.  If I connect to a different SQL 2008 server, the % Processor Graph is fine.  I don't see any errors in any app event log.  Has anyone else seen this behavior?Thanks!

How to avoid app crash if .NET framework uninstalled/disabled

In Windows 7, it is possible to disable the .NET framework via the Control Panel's "Turn Windows features on or off". If this is done, running a .NET application causes an app crash, which is logged to the Windows Event Log, and also generates an application crash report that is sent back to Microsoft (WER). How can we avoid this app crash?  Because the app requires .NET, I don't think it can perform a check for the framework's presence itself.  Providing an application configuration file with "requiredRuntime" specified does not avoid the app crash. The only solution we can come up with is writing an unmanaged wrapper around every managed application. The unmanaged code could check for the framework being installed, and then launch the managed process.  This could be tedious to do for every application. Ideally, this would just fail more gracefully and let the user know that the .NET framework is required but not available.  This solution should probably come from the OS, but we're looking for a way to be able to handle this ourselves for now. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks, David

Edit Document disabled

Hello I have Sharepoint 2010 installed. I uploaded a word document to a page, but I'm not able to edit that document. The Edit document button is disabled and when I hover over it it says I don't have the permissions. This is a test environment and I'm the only user on this machine. I have full access to the central administration site and I'm using the same account on the Team Site I'm building. So what do I need to do? Also, this is not the only button that is disabled. Publish, Unpublish, Approve/Reject, etc.. are all disabled. Thank you Abdallah El-Chal, PMP, ITIL, MCTS

Insert picture from sharepoint disabled in editor field

Hi, When I create an announcement list, the body is a" multiple lines of text" field with then enchanded rich text editor mode enabled. When I add a new item, I can open the tab insert and click on picture. There I get 3 options: from computer / from address / from sharepoint The option "from sharepoint" is disabled (grayed out). I looked on the forum here and google, and all I could find was that the SharePoint Server Publishing should be enabled, but that is already the case on my site, and still the option is disabled. I tried with a custom list, but it gives the same problem. When I add a content editor web part on one of my pages, the option to insert a picture from sharepoint is enabled. So it's only happening when trying this inside a listitem. How can I browse for a picture inside SharePoint from the editor inside a listitem ?

Can WEBDAV be disabled in Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows Server 2008 R2?

Hello, we had some issues with WEBDAV use with Sharepoint 2010 placed behind WEBSeal proxies. We decided to only use FPSE (front page server extensions) for an external access to this portal. I cannot find a way, how to disable WEBDAV, or how to force clients to only use FPSE with this portal. It is fair, to say, that we would like to make such configuration on a server side, rather then configure client computers. We are running Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows Server 2008R2 server (i.e. IIS 7.5) thank you in advance for help/ideas Roman Cernovsky

Document Set - Problem when uploading multiple files with "Launch forms in a dialog" disabled

Hello, Has anyone come across this before? I have a basic document library for which I have enabled "Allow management of content types" and disabled "Launch forms in a dialog".  Both of these settings are in the "Advanced Settings" page.  Also, the document library does not have versioning enabled and check out is not required. I added the OOTB "Document Set" content type to this document library and allowed OOTB "Document" content type documents in this document set.  This document set does not have any default content. The issue arises after I upload multiple files and click the "Done" button.  After I do this, the browser redirects to the top level of the site!  For example, if I uploaded to my document set at http://server/sites/anyname/doclib, I am redirected to http://server/. This issue has come up in both a standard server and an enterprise server. Steps to repeat issue: Create a document set Open the document set Select "Upload Multiple Documents" Drag and drop or browse for files Click "OK" Click "Done" Actually, this issue also occurs when "Launch forms in a dialog" is enabled.  In this case, you just have to navigate to the upload form directly (with all the necessary query string parameters, of course). Has anyone else seen this issu

ModalPopupExtender allows content panel to show, but everything is disabled

I have a user control (ascx) vs 2010 that contains a modalpopup extender thats popup control is an asp:panel.  In that Panel I have an update panel and a contenttemplate inside the upd panel.  It is a pretty simple example of its use, in that I have list box allowing the users to create a new row in a table.  However, when I click targetcontrol, the background changes to the expended modal background, but instead of being able to use the listbox, everything in the content panel is the same as the background and none of the controls on the panel are enabled.  In other words, the entire page is loaded dimgray, including the updatearea. Not sure what is going on here, but any help would be appreciated.
