Target audiences not working in excel services web part

My appologies i posted this originally in the pre-2010 forum So i'm reposting here: We have recently upgraded to Sharepoint 2010 and we're experiencing problems with the "target audience" field being available to the users. I am not the CA admin though so it'll make this a bit tough to get solved if the problem is there. What i'm looking for are the suggestions of things for me to forward to the CA admin to change or check if anything. We have a seperate Virtual Machine that is running 2010 that has this option available to users on that farm for some reason. however on our corporate farm we don't have that option available. Plus on top of this the quick launch items are not working with audiences as well to turn off the headers to links that have nothing in them due to security trimming on document libraries. I'm hoping that this being a more of an overview of things to check would help others who may have this problem as well. I've seen resolutions such as rebooting the server and such, however that's a bit lower level and we need some higher level things to check that may resolve the issue. Think the simple stuff first to check and lets work down the list. Doesn't matter how stupid it is but can we get a more compiled list of things to check to make sure that target audience visibility to users is enabled? Thanks!

Protect part of Excel sheet via Excel Services

Is it possible with Excel Services or other Out Of the Box standard features, to create a functionality as below description.

"Make an Excel sheet frozen/not editable on existing row but at the same time let users be able to create new rows, populated with a running numberid preferable in Sharepoint somehow?"

Sharepoint 2010 w/ Webapps, Excel Services Webpart display issue.

I have Sharepoint 2010 installed with WebApps 2010, and can use it to edit documents in IE without any problems at all.  Word and Excel work just fine.

But on MOSS 2007, I could have it display the Excel page as a webpart, that you can click on, and open it anyways.   But no matter what I try in 2010, all I get is the Webpart heading has a link to the file that works, but the contents always reads:

To display a workbook in this Web Part, you must first select the workbook.

To select a workbook, open the tool pane, and then edit the Workbook property.
Click here to open the tool pane.

How can I fix the preview in the webpart?

SENS: System Event Notification Services and WMI Enable Flexible, Efficient Mobile Network Computing

Networked applications must deal with a host of connection problems ranging from timeouts to congestion to unavailability. If these applications can check the current connection status and, when disconnected, cache transmissions, they become more efficient. Fortunately, both the System Event Notification System (SENS) and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) can send notifications to keep applications informed of network status. In this article, the author explains the use of several SENS interfaces, including ISensNetwork and ISensLogon, which trigger events for connects/disconnects and logons/logoffs, respectively. The author then shows how you can subscribe to each of these events, and follows with a discussion of when you might use WMI events instead.

file upload in Create User Wizard Created User event with UpdatePanel Tag wont work?

In my Create User Wizard1 Created User Wizard Event, I am collecting extra information from text boxes and allowing

the user to uplad a file.

I have put the Submit button within an Update Panel Tag but since I have done this it does not work.

Is there a way round it. In this situation would you use a trigger.?

Windows SharePoint Services 3 Search Event ID 2424

This error started on 29 April and I cannot get rid of it...  My search works fine, both site and people.  AD profile import works fine.  Full and incremantal crawls work as scheduled.  Just that this error keeps showing up every five minutes in one of two WFE's.  The other WFE does not receive this error

I have verified all Security Configuration/Service Accounts, verified all Services on Server/Search accounts, Stopped/Restarted all search, and verified SSP accounts.  The last thing I did was verify there was an indexer attached to the SSP...

I set the diagnostic logging to verbose and the only thing that stood out around the time of the error was

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Invalid object name 'AR_CacheCounters'.

SqlError: 'Invalid object name 'AR_CacheCounters'.'    Source: '.Net SqlClient Data Provider' Number: 208 State: 1 Class: 16 Procedure: 'proc_ar_GetCacheInvalidationCountersWithCount' LineNumber: 3 Server: 'SERVER'

Any suggestions?
