Calendar View: Unable filter Recurring Event by Start/End Time and Group by Recurring Event View

Hi All,
I have just found several issues with Calendar View from WSS 3.0:

Unable to filter by [Start Time] and [End Time]
I am not sure why these 2 columns doesn't appear in the Filtering column in the View Settings. The workaround found in the internet is to create calculated column for Start Time and and End Time. However, it doesn't work for Recurring Event, the calculated column will show only first recurring event Start Time.

Unable to use "Group By"
When I create new view in Calendar using format: "Standard View, with Expanding Recurring Events", there is no option to specify "Group By". Anyone knows how to show all recurring event in List view and grouped by Start Time (or any other column).

It seems that recurring events (in Events view) cause greatlimitations in the views available. For example filtering or groupingon the start date of events does not work.I tried to use a calculated column that makes a 'Start Date' of theStart Time in order to filter on it, but the result is that only thefirst date of a series of a recurring task is shown, which of courseis useless.It seems that the Calendar view is the only way to limit views in day/week/etc.Did anyone else come up with an acceptable way to group or filterrecurring events?  Specifically filtering these recurring events by Week and Month.

Hi All, Currently, when I add my Calendar web part to my page it displays the date and time for start and end dates. How can I get my web part to hide the times and only show the start and end date when the All Day event box is checked?

SharePoint 2007 Calendar - add an event to a recurring meeting workspace

  
Hello all,

I was wondering if someone can answer this problem I am having. 

Simple Question: Are you able to add an additional event into a recurring event which is linked to a meeting workspace?

Long version:

I create an event in a calendar with the recurrence of every monday for the month. (4 dates lets say)  We have a special meeting to add to the meeting workspace, so I add an additional event in the calendar and try to add this date (15th lets say) to that previous meeting workspace series.

My problem is that the ability to add the new date (15th) to the series doesn't show me any options to add to that previous meeting workspace, I can only create a new meeting workspace.

My colleague who has used SharePoint 2003 at another workplace is 100% sure she could do this, however I am at a loss where SharePoint 2007 allows this functionality.

In a new calendar, I tested this theory by creating 3 events with recurring dates and creating an associated meeting workspace with each of them.  Not once did I get the option to add the event to another meeting workspace.  I added an event with no recurrence with an associated meeting workspace, the very next event could add to that meeting workspace which is what I want except to a recurring meeting workspace.

Hi Gurus ,

It happened to add an extra Gridveiw Header in row_databound event , It did worked fine on !Postback but disappered on Page.Postback . Quick google search guided me to move the event to Row_Created event and every thing is okay .

Can any expert post some pointers , differnces between grid row_created vs row_databount with some sample table data created dynamically  behaviour of both the events in !Postback and page.Postback .

Sharepoint and IIS/Windows Event Logs in a single view

  
Hi - I'm coinsidering addng sharepoint log reading capabilities into an application I've built for reading windows and IIS logs (for more info http://logenvy.com). I know there are quite a few applications capable of reading sharepoint logs (a number are listed here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/781179/sharepoint-2007-log-viewer). Does anyone think the capability to analyse windows and IIS logs alongside sharepoint logs would be useful, or have any logging requirements not well met by the current set of tools? I'm especially keen to explore useful/interesting data visualizations on top of data logs.

Remove time from Month Calendar view

  
We have a calendar part on a page that has very narrow boxes for each day. As such we want to remove the time from appearing before the title of the event. I have managed to do this through css where there is only one event. However, have not been able to remove it where there are mutiple events. Any ideas on how this can be removed in both scenarios? How to filter view using ListViewXML with group by option?

  
I try to filter my view in list using ListViewXml property. The view has group by section. After implementing a filter for the view data under groups are the same(not filtered), but group rows show quantity of rows for each group  like filter is implemented. Row Command Event (Grid View) and PostBack

  
I have a grid view with a number of columns in Page1.aspx.The last column is a template field with a button. On it's row command event,The control is transferred to Page2.aspx.  Initially, I had not put the PostBack property in Page1.aspx and when I used breakpoint in the RowCommand event the control never entered inside the event.However,it worked fine once I did the postback property. Capturing 'View Report' Button Event

  
My report contains 2 dropdown lists. The 2nd dropdown list will be populated based on the selection of the first. I need to call an insertion method that will insert the selected values of the dropdown lists into the database when the 'View Report' button is being clicked. Is there a way to capture the 'View Report' button's event? Thanks in advance. (By the way, I am using SSRS 2005.)

Group Calendar View

  

I created a team site from the template but am struggling with the calendar views.  When I load the page, I want to see each person in the group in the calendar web part.  By default, I can only see myself. 

The default view is set to "Group Week" so it would seem that everyone should be visible.  When I select People | SiteMembers, they show up so there isn't a permission problem.

Is there a different "group" than the site members which the webpart reads from?  I can't seem to find any info on this.

view state doubled if i call prerender event

  

i have one method which save datatable in viewstate.

i am calling this method in

1. page_load

2. Prerender

the page was every heavy,

i did tracing of page i found due to calling of method from preprnder it doubled the viewstate size

what was the reseon behind this.





SPListItem "Start Time" for recurring events when building a task reminder Timer job.

  

I have a timer job that looks at maintenance events (calendar list) planned 5 days in the future and moves them to the current todo list. It then marks that maintenance item as copied so it is not double copied to the current todo list.

This works good for single event maintenance items but not for routine or recurring maintenance items. The reason is the recurring events have a "start time" of the first event so after the first one gets moved the rest are all interpreted as being in the past, since (I think) the recurring events start time is generated as an offset of the original event at runtime. How would I get a collection of ALL the Event items that are 5 days out (single and recurring) within a timer job.

Expanded recurrence items cannot be updated


configure to use a on change event instead of click on View Report in Report Manager

  

Hi all,

the report manager by default requires after a users changes a value in a dropdown filter still to go all the way to the right and clik the "View Report" button. Is there a way (config..file)to update the report based on a filter value change without click  the View report button....
