Firefox and google chrome textbox wrap is not working

Hi there, i have did some research on this topic. But what i have try to search still cannot solve my problem in Firefox.

 I have a textbox with textmode= multiline. i put a wrap= true is becoz i wan to display the address line by line and same as how the users input. I have tested in IE,Google Chrome and Firefox, two browser is not working except the IE.

<asp:TextBox ID="txtContactAddress" runat="server" CssClass="txtbox"

Video (application/x-oleobject) not playing in Firefox,Chrome and Opera

I have a WebForm in which I need to play a video file (wmv, mpg or mpeg). Here is my code:

<object id="vid" width="320" height="240"
style="position:relative; left:10;top:10;"
<param name="URL" value='<%=Session["videourl"]%>'/>
<param name="SendPlayStateChangeEvents" value="True" />
<param name="AutoStart" value="False" />
<param name="uiMode" value="full" />
<param name="PlayCount" value="9999" />

This works well in Internet Explorer. I get the little media player with its controls(play, stop, pause etc) and everything works fine. However, in Firefox (3.6.12), Opera, Chrome, I don't get anything, just a blank space where the media object should appear.

I did some googling and... the problem should be that, the object is an ActiveX control and only IE supports ActiveX, so thats why it only shows in IE. Well, can anyone give some suggestions to make this work in any browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera)

login control logsout immediately in IE8 (but not Chrome, Firefox)

I am setting up a simple website which includes an asp.net login control.

Problem: When a registered user logs in using IE8 he is immediately logged out again.

(You can tell that he did get logged in because the "LastActivityDate" entry gets updated, there is also no "login failed" message.)

This doesn't happen if the user is using Chrome or Firefox - these browsers let you login ok. The problem also doesn't occur when using IE8 on the development machine, (running the site through Visual Studio) - it only occurs when deployed (I'm using IIS 5.1 on WinXP Pro).

After a lot of Googling the closest I have found to someone else experiencing this was at:

However the solution offered on the above link (ie don't have an IMG tag with an empty "" source( doesn't seem to apply to my website. Also - I'm guessing that his problem might occur in other browsers.)

I seem to have reached a dead end here, can anyone offer any suggestions?

Menu control appears slighlty off in Chrome and Firefox

The right sides of the dynamic menu items are being chopped off. Also, the entire menu is moved slightly to the left in both browsers. I have been searching for a solution but everything I find so far with Google talks about a problem with the menu not starting on the correct node but I am not having that issue.

Custom Editing Behavior for DataGridView TextBox Columns

For various reasons I'm using a DataGridView instead of a ListView, and while configuring the DataGridView to look like a ListView wasn't much of a problem, there's one thing that got on my nerves, which is the behavior of textbox cells in edit mode: It is much too easy to leave the edit mode accidentally, simply by pressing the cursor keys at the wrong time. For example when the text caret is positioned behind the last character of the textbox cell content, and you press the right arrow key

Run Button Behavior: Suggestion/Bug

Note: This could be a bug or considered as suggestion. I am not looking for solution.

1: I have ImageWatermark.cshtml open and currently in focus.

2: I have Photo1.jpg selected in left Files workspace.

3: Now if I Click "Run", instead of opening ImageWatermark.cshtml it trys to open Photo1.jpg and it fails.

So ideally I would expect the "open file (ImageWatermark.cshtml) to run rather than running the selection from Workspace.

Word Automation - Multiple DCOM Errors/Behavior

Before I get started, I already know that Microsoft does not support and highly discourages server-based MS Office automation.  I've read a multitude of posts and smarmy "*wink*, here's a link" replies, so I'm looking for actual help here, not condescending reprimands.

That notwithstanding, here is my problem.  I have developed a simple method that will open a local Word document, modify some header information, and then save the document as a new file.  As expected, it works great as a console/windows app, but as soon as I went to ASP.NET, DCOM jacked my world up when accessing the app remotely from a different domain account (that has access to the ASP.NET app.  For reference, my method is shown below:

1 public static string ModifyAndSaveBuildDocument(string localFilePath, BuildDocumentType docType, string buildNumber, DateTime buildDate, string projectName)
2            {
3                try
4                {
5                    ProjectConfiguration config = (ProjectConfiguration)ConfigurationManager.GetSection("ProjectConfiguration");

ModalPopup/UpdatePanel from codebehind, inconsistent behavior onClick

First post bear with me please:

I have a simple form with a list of linkbuttons, each fires the same onclick event which sets an indicator image.  I have a dummy button with style="display:none" which I have set as the TargetControlID of the modal.

onClick event from the imagebutton, the modal is shown via modal.Show().  The cancel button inside the modalpopup fires an event which turns off the indicator image and hides the modal via modal.Hide().

The events fire perfectly, it's very simple!  Although after doing some testing I noticed the modalpopup is not presented after the 6-10th cycle of clicking the open event, then clicking cancel.  The grey background appears but it is behind the main panel and the modal is either presented behind this or is just simply not displaying.

I spent hours researching various methods, implemented the CancelControlID to see if it was somehow tied to my call of modal.Hide() that fails.

This occurs with an updatepanel only.  The behaviour is much cleaner this way, so I would hope to be able to implement this.  I have basically eliminated everything but these two events!  Please help

Javascript fails in chrome and firefox, works fine in IE

I am customizing Newform.aspx i.e. hiding some fields, making other readonly etc. It works fine in IE but fails miserably in chrome and firefox i.e. readonly are no more readonly, hidden are no more hidden. Here is my code:

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    function autoFillFields()
       var ctrl = findacontrol("Reference Customer");
    var param = getURLParam('RefFromCust');
    var properParam = replaceCharacters(param);
    ctrl.value = properParam;
    var ctrl = findacontrol("RefReqOpptyId");
    var param = getURLParam('OpptyId');
    var properParam = replaceCharacters(param);
    ctrl.value = properParam;

    param = getURLParam('RefFromAE');
    properParam = replaceCharacters(param);
    setPeoplePicker("People Picker", properParam);
    hideFldCtrl("Approval Sta

TopNavFlyOuts won't display in IE but will display in FireFox, Chrome etc

My company decided it would like to add 1 level flyouts to the website which seems easy enough but I have an issue I just can't figure out. I changed the master to display 1 level and added CSS to format the flyouts. In Internet Explorer, the flyouts are a big blank white box and no text that can be clicked, no colors, nothing, but the width of the flyouts is just as expected and it's placed on the page as expected. So it picked up a couple of properties in the CSS but nothing else. In FireFox, Chrome and Safari, the flyouts are showing up just fine. This is just wacky to me. Has anyone run across? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
