How to use the following aspx file to access mysql database

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 15, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

The following code is named default.aspx  in a sms gateway, The purpose of this file is to split the incoming message [using split function in C#] and store the the messages into string array,

We query a mysql database for the words in string array . and return the queried fields [time] from the [source] and [destination]  into the message.

Should we include the namespaces in the aspx file?

Please check what is wrong with the following code.

<%@ Page Language="C#"%>
    using MySql.Data.MySqlClient;
    using System;

    string MyConString = "SERVER=localhost;" +
				"DATABASE=sample;" +
				"UID=root;" +
	MySqlConnection connection = new MySqlConnection(MyConString);

string sender = Request.QueryString["sender"];
string receiver = Request.QueryString["receiver"];
string messagedata = Request.QueryString["messagedata"];
string messageid = Request.QueryString["messageid"];
string messagetype = Request.QueryString["messagetype"];
string senttime = Request.QueryString["senttime"];
string receivedtime = Request.QueryString["receivedtime"];

Restoring 2008 Database with Filestream - Process cannot access file error

I'm trying to restore a copy of a database that has a filestream and am getting the error below. I've tried with move option to specify a new path and left it with default path, neither worked. Did a trace with procmon, didn't see anything. FileStream1 is a new folder that the restore process creates. I've deleted the folder, tried it with a new name, re-took the backup from the source machine, restarted SQL, rebooted the machine, drive permissions are open. I've run out of ideas on how to debug further. Looking up the error online wasn't much help either. Msg 3634, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The operating system returned the error '32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.)' while attempting 'OpenFile' on 'X:\Data\FileStream1\4ecb2e48-0eee-4c99-a3f0-f1e6c7f00b24\f2efe374-9481-4c1b-a7f2-dcdcee350807\0000001b-0000aaa6-00f6'. Deny anonymous access for single .aspx file

I have a folder called /Error in the root directory for an ASP.Net site.  The site is completely public, so there is no authentication of users.  Inside the Error folder, I have a file called errorlog.aspx, where I log unhandled exceptions.  I don't want the public to be able to view this file.  I created a web.config file inside the Error folder.

<?xml version="1.0"?>
	<location path="errorlog.aspx">
				<deny users="?"/>

However, I'm still able to view errorlog.aspx by typing the URL into the browser.  What am I missing?

Access web database Reports - "file not found" error

The reports section of my Access web databases aren't working - I keep getting a "file not found" error for every database I upload.  I even tested it with the Northwind Web Database sample from MS.  I could see the reports in Access 2010, so I successfully uploaded the template to my SharePoint 2010 Server, and when I clicked on the links to view the Reports - I got the same "file not found" error for this sample database.

Anyone seen this before?

Store and Display Images from MS Access Database Using C#

There is only the difference of coding syntax to stream the binary data of image content type to upload it into MS Access Database using C#/VB in ASP.Net 2.0

Namespaces required:-
using System.Data.OleDb;

OleDb is used to connect the web site forms with MS Access Database using Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0

ASP.Net Upload Image to MS Access Database

As you learnt from the previous articles to upload image to the SQL Database in ASP.Net 2.0 and stream that image into the memory to retrieve it from the database and display it on the web page. In this article you will learn how to upload images to the MS Access database in ASP.Net 2.0

First of all create an Access Database and place it in the App_Data folder of ASP.Net web site project. Then create a table "tblImg" with the following fields:

Launch CMD File From ASPX Page

My organization uses a CMD file to install updated files for a major enterprise application. Currently, we send out an email to users with a link to the file and instructions to run it, BUT inevitably users don't update their machines until their in field and try to start the app.

We're now liking the idea of using an ASPX page to prompt the users to run the updates and to capture the fact that the updates have been run. I realize that we can't capture the success or failure of the update. But we'd like to capture the user accessed the page.

Is it possible to embed into the markup for the page a link to the file on the local intranet that the users can click on to run the file?

The user accessing the page would capture that they did just that. We'd deal with wether or not the update was actually installed or if it failed later with them directly.

Does this look correct for saving a file/ new record to a database

So thank you for all your help so far, So I think i got this right,
but would like for you all to look it over to see if there is any
areas I might run into trouble with:

//using asp.net mvc 2
the table (sql server 2005, using entities framework)
table fields
"Pattern_Media_GUID  uniqueid
"Pattern_GUID  uniqueid
"Media varbinary(max)
"height int
"Width int
"Media_Type String (50)

the form:
<h2> Add Media to this pattern</h2>
<% Html.EnableClientValidation(); %>
<% Html.BeginForm("AddMedia", "Pattern", new { id= Model.Pattern_Guid} , FormMethod.Post, new {enctype = "multipart/form-data"}); %>
    <%: Html.Label("height") %>
    <%: Html.TextBox("height") %>

    <%: Html.Label("width") %>
    <%: Html.TextBox("width") %>

    <%: Html.Label("Media") %>
    <input type="file" id="Media" name="Media" />

Migrated from Windows 2000 ASP.NET 1.1 to Windows 2003, ASP.NET 2.0 and had this error. All the forums/MSDN/Blogs says to give Read/Write Access to C:\Windows\Temp folder. Why should we give Full Access to some folder in Production server?? In windows 2000, ASP.NET 2.0 development machine, no files are created when we run crystal reports from aspx pages. Then why in Windows 2003 servers, we need to give rights to temp folder?? It is a simple code

And the code is not storing anything on the disk. Then why should it store the GUID.rpt file in Temp file in Windows 2003 server?? Any alternative is there not to store anything on the disk when Crystal Reports are opened in aspx page??
