Custom Form Field in Collect Data Action doesnot capture multiple users.

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 14, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I have a situation where the department head dynamically assigns the reviewers depending on the document that is uploaded. To capture the reviewers I added a Collect Data Action and a "Reviewers" form field, with type "Person/Group" and checked the following properties

1. Allow selection od People and Groups, 2. Choose from all users and more importantly 3. Allow multiple users

Although I am able to enter multiple users in the form, I am able to retrieve only the first user I entered and the rest just.. disappear!

Binding list to form not working with '&' character in list field data

Hi, I have a SharePoint list with a field called Title. I have a form based on this list with the field bound to the form as a label (for workflow to access). Here is the code for the form field. <asp:Label runat="server" id="ff2{$Pos}" text="{@Title}" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('u',concat('ff2',$Pos),'Text','','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Title')}" /> I have a workflow that runs through a form action button which take ff2 (title) and  does other stuff. The problem I have is with records where the value of 'title' contains the '&' character (example ab&cd). Blank is pulled in by the workflow when I get the value of ff2. I am guessing it has to do with the data binding and/or escape (special) characters coming through but I don't know how to fix it. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Is there any way to populate an InfoPath form field with the data from the site content type column?

I have a Form library with a form template.

The templat has a field "Office name" which should not be a fixed list of values, but a dynamical list, feeded from a different type of form. I'm a novice with InfoPath - Sharepoint and I want to find out, how can I can give users a possibility to create and maintain a list of offices and also have this list as a selection list inside main library form - ALL inside one library, if possible.

I assumed that if I publish main form (Itinerary) as a library template form and lookup form (OfficeInfo) as a SiteContent, I should be able somehow to connect to siteContent column and it's information. But I cannot see how - Site Content Gallery is not appering as a Connection item.

Can I use SiteConenct for this purpose or there are other ways to create end-user lookup lists?

Thank you!

Custom data field

I have developed a custom data field that stores a lot of data the user creates. It is drawn geometries on map. So I store the geometry, can be hundreds of points in a polyline or polygon, the look of the polygon etc. The problem is when I go to the list view I really dont want to display a huge amount of XML-data just for example a text, Geometry or something. Any ideas how to accomplish this?

Multiple Collect Data tasks for one item

Hi guys,

I am fairly unfamiliar with creating custom workflows in SPD, so was hoping you can point me in the right direct.

The scenario is that my users enter information into a list. As soon as an item is added, several tasks are sent out to different users across the company, asking them if they are "interested in the item". Some of them will respond Yes, other's No. After everybody has responded, the system should check if anybody has responded with Yes. If so, a new workflow runs. If not, a different workflow runs.

So I thought I need the Collect Data action to create multiple tasks, but then I realised that they don't run at the same time, but after each other, which is not what I want. I want all users to receive their tasks at the same time. So I guess my first question would be if this means I need to create a different workflow for each user? Or is there an easier way to Collect Data from multiple users?

The other question, related to the one above, is: how do I figure out when all users have completed their related tasks? If the tasks are created by several different workflows how do I trigger a new, conditional workflow, after completion?

Thanks for the help.

How do I allow multiple users to desing the same InfoPath 2010 form? Preferably using SP 2010 to ho

We have several users who need permissions to edit a template and publish that template to the forms library.

The primary designer creates the template and uploads to a doc library.  Admin staff from all divisions need to be able to flesh out the template and publish for all users.

Passing data into a Sharepoint Designer Form Action workflow

I have a workflow that is triggered by a "Custom Action" on a "Form Action Button" that I added to a DataFormWebPart in SharePoint Designer. So the workflow isn't associated to any list or document library. What I need to do is pass some data to this workflow so that it can do some useful stuff.

I see from here that Natalya Voskresenskaya shows a method that allows you to pass a single list item value into a workflow variable but if you hack this into the aspx file as suggested, when ever you subsequently open design view and the workflow on the button again, all the hacks are removed by SPD.

I have tried this method and it seems to work for one variable, but I cant figure out how to pass more than one. Here is another post that is very similar but slightly different.

In this post Ibrahim said on April 1st 2008:

Dynamic Data. Multiple Custom Pages For The Same Table

I've just started out my first project using Dynamic Data and I've been running into a series of problems. Dynamic Data doesn't seem to be swimming in documentation. Anyway, my setup is:

  • Visual Studio 2010
  •  .net 4.0
  • Dynamic Data Domain Service Web Application Project Template (I have the RIA Services for ASP .net installed)
  • using an Entity Data Model
  • using a DomainService class
  • ASP .net Membership

There are a couple of things I am trying to achieve:

  1. I have my scaffolding turned on for all the tables. I am using the RequiresRole attribute in order to restric access to some tables. I have understood how you can create a Custom Page Template for a certain table, no problems there. I would like to be able to use the default PageTemplates for lets say the Administrator role and the Custom Page Templates for another role; the idea would be that the Administrator would be able to edit anything in the DB, but the restricted user would receive a Custom Page with only a few actions available. Long story short: is there a way to access both the standard and custom templates?
  2. Related to question number 1: Can I have multiple Custom Page Templates for the same table? I saw someone asking

Setting Task Field Values in Custom .aspx Edit Form and accessing through ExtendedProperties

Since we're using WSS 3.0 and not MOSS 2007, we have to create and use ASP forms for any custom Workflow Task Edit pages instead of being able to use InfoPath forms (which would be nice...maybe some day we'll step up to MOSS). The custom Workflow Edit Pages are used for custom Task Content Types that we create so that our Workflow Tasks can have additional fields beyond the standard Workflow Task fields. Once you've collected the values for the Task fields from the user on the ASP Workflow Task Edit form, the typical procedure is to create a hashtable and fill the hashtable with key/value pairs that represent the names of your Task fields and their associated values, as such:

// This function is called when the user clicks the Save/Submit button
// on the Custom Task Edit ASP form
public void btnSubmit_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
// Create a hashtable that will be used to update the values of task fields
      Hashtable taskHash = new Hashtable();
// For each field, create two values in the hashtable. If the field name
// matches a field in the Task content type, the field name will not be
// searchable as a key within the ExtendedProperties hashtable. So
// create a second field that is a duplicate of the first but having a
// name that doesn't exactly match an existing field in the Task
// content type. That way it will be a searchable ke
