MaskedEditExtender forcing user to enter decimal point...

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 14, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I have a MaskedEditExtender set for a TextBox that will receive a fee amount. I want the user to be able to type the "." decimal when the amount contains a decimal value (123.45). But if the amount has not decimals (123) I want the mask to automatically fill the 2 decimal with zeroes and also enter the "." decimal point (123.00).

With the following mask I'm able to enter a full number (999) and get the zeroes but when user enters 85.85 it will be 850.85 so I change the direction RightToLeft but I'm not even able to type the first character.

<cc1:MaskedEditExtender ID="txtFee1ME" runat="server" PromptCharacter=" " Mask="999.99"
                    Enabled="True" TargetControlID="txtFee1" MaskType="Number">
                </cc1:MaskedEditExtender>

<cc1

Share Point Designer 2007 Workflow (Sequential) - multi-collect data from user

I am currently building a multi-step workflow using ShrePoint designer for MOSS2007. I am getting a bit confused as to if I have an error or if I am doing something incorrect. Here is what I have going. My workflow consists of something similar to the following New document comes in, a collect data from user routine is ran and assigned to a reviewer. My understanding when I create a collect data from user WorkFlow step is any data I request is saved in the "Tasks" list. Therefore I need to grab the workflow task ID in order to later lookup what the reviewer submitted... I understand this...   However, I have one more collect data from user workflow step and I have one more item to collect. Even though this is a brand new collect data from user workflow step - does the collected data still go into the "Tasks" list? In other words, if I have two steps in a workflow and both of these steps are "collect data from user", does the data from both steps go into the same "Tasks" list?  I could see how this might be possible as long as the Task list columns contain all the items for all the different "collect" data from user steps.  I don't see two different Tasks lists representing or named "Reviewer" or "Final" or anything, so I assume the items are all in "Tasks"   However..

Error : Please enter a different user name. How can I set this feature off?

I have made a page where people can register themselfs with a CreateUserwizard.But when I have a user test and the next user wants to register hisself with the username testlocal then I get the message :Please enter a different user name.I think I get this message because the check of the user length is to short. So where can I set this length? And how can I set this check off?Thnx.

Precision and scale from flat file with no decimal point

I can't figure out if "precision" and "scale" in flat files connection manager can give me an implied decimal.

Say each record is an amount and a name:

00101MrTuesday

00102MsWedndesay

The numbers represent 1.01 and 1.02

I would hope I could put in the flat file something to say the Scale is 2 and Precision is 5, and down-pipeline tasks would see 1.01 and 1.02.  I've tried dt_numeric and dt_decimal data types in my flat file connection manager advanced properties and tried setting DataScale to 2 and (in numeric, no such option in decimal) setting DataPrecision to 5, but the numbers just come out as 101 and 102 when I write them into an ODBC database.

Would you expect this to work (I'm doing the right thing wrong) or is there something similar (I'm doing the wrong thing)?

In fact what I have is dozen of currency fields and percentages with no decimal points - old Cobol style data we get from competitors who won't change the format.  I realize that I could transform the field(s) but then that has to be done for each dataflow that uses the connection manager.

How do I print just the numbers after the point from a decimal value?

decimal 123,45m;

I'd like to print  "45"

Thank you.

MS SQL Server: Disconnect Users From Database - Kill User Session

If you ever wanted to restore your database from a SQL backup file (.bak), but there are still users connected to your database, the backup operation will fail causing the error: Exclusive access could not be obtained because the database is in use.

Choosing Between a User Control or Web Part for SharePoint

SharePoint will only display Web Parts on a page. However, there are publicly available shims that allow you to write user controls and have them be displayed as a Web Part. From SharePoint's point of view, the shim is a Web Part. From the point of view of the user control, the shim is simply a control in .NET that is including the user control

Creating Sites/Lists/List Items under Current User Context in SharePoint By Using SPUserToken

Usually we do this by performing the action under RunWithElevatedPrivileges method and updating the listitem using SPListItem.SystemUpdate() method (see here). but this approach has its own flaws like (RunWithElevatedPrivileges will run under system account, we cannot use SystemUpdate for SPSite,SPWeb,SPList, since it runs under system we will "CreatedBy" by as SystemAccount).

How to track the changes of user contacts(colleagues) by using SharePoint API

We might have seen colleague tracker web part which keep tracks the changes made in our contacts/colleagues details like profile/lists/sites. The same tracking mechanism can be implemented by using MOSS API in any custom web part/ web control/ feature/web service...

UserProfile.GetColleagueChanges is the method which returns all changes happened with the contacts, this method also accepts a Query (UserProfileChangeQuery) where we can specify different parameters to filter the changes

User Defined Functions in Microsoft SQL Server

User Defined Functions are compact pieces of Transact SQL code, which can accept parameters, and return either a value, or a table. They are saved as individual work units, and are created using standard SQL commands. Data transformation and reference value retrieval are common uses for functions. LEFT, the built in function for getting the left part of a string, and GETDATE, used for obtaining the current date and time, are two examples of function use. User Defined Functions enable the developer or DBA to create functions of their own, and save them inside SQL Server.

Building Re-Usable ASP.NET User Control and Page Libraries with VS 2008

I am having problems with a user control. I want my solution to have a separate project for holding my user controls.

The main project can get a reference to this user control project and can import this user control dll into my main project.

Thanks in advance,
