Issue with row and column Grouping

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 14, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
In my report I have two row groups one below the other that belong to the same parent group. I also have a column group. What happens is until I have only one row group and one column group the report works fine. When I add a second row group below the first one the values are displayed correct for this second row grouping but the values for the first row group which were earlier correct are not shown. The display for those values is blank. Can anyone help with why this is happening?

Datasheet view lookup column issue

When a column that has a lookup is empty in datasheet view and I attempt to update a different column I get this message: the text entered for isn't an item from the list. select an item from the list, or enter text that matches one of the listed items.

I found this hotfix, but it did not apply.

Any ideas how to get this resolved?

SharePoint 2007 to Access 2007 - Issues grouping by "Person or Group" field type/column

We are on SharePoint 2007 and using Access 2007.  The SharePoint list contains a column called Assigned Person, column type: Person or Group, single selection, displaying only the name 1) When we Open with Access and Export a copy of the data, then create a report from that table, we do not have the option to group on Assigned Person.  2) When we Open with Access and Link to data on the SharePoint site, then create a report from that list, when we group by Assigned Person... The same person has 2 groups - there are is no other grouping or sorts on the list, and i can't locate a correlation to another field to show why they would have to collections for the same person The Person or Group column sorts "from smallest to largest" as though it is a number field. The list is a task/activity tracking system we created custom for our needs.  We want to pull a weekly report, grouped by Assigned Person, but cannot get access to work.  We do not want to resort to anything more complex, as it takes a much longer process to have reports pulled by Chrystal or one of those types of applications.  And we cannot change out the field for something like a Choice column as the list already has a very large amount of content.  Can anyone assist? Is there a setting hiding somewhere that is causing the problem?

Weird Date vs Date/Time issue using a calculated column

I'm attempting to use the fab 40 attendance template. I don't need the time to show - Im able to hide that on the forms with jquery (endusersharepoint.com thank you!!) I WAS ATTEMPTING to create a calculated column called Start Date where the formula simply reads '=[Start Time]' When it's set to display 'Date Only' the date is off by a day. If I switch it to 'Date & Time' I get the correct date. Huh?

WPF DataGrid Column Width issue

I have a simple window with 2 tabs, and 4 datagrids.  I set up each one with similar, if not identical settings.  They all get their own DataSet based binding, and have standard Text columns, and combo box columns.  Recently (past week) of development, while I was adding filtering/sorting/grouping features to my program, the column widths have begun to ingore my settings.  By collapsed I mean approx 20 pixels wide (just enough for the sorting Icon). Contacts datagrid, works great in run time, but in design time the columns are all collapsed. ContactsToClients data grid has no abnormal issues Clients datagrid AND Clients to Contacts datagrid look great in design time, but show collapsed columns in run time. How do I hunt down the problem?  I've tried removing all the temporary code, and rebuilding, closing Visual Studio and reopening.  I've remmed out the sorting code.  None of these have any affect.  It appears that my settings are all being ignored.  Here is the XAML code:   <Window x:Class="wdContacts" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:my

SSRS 2008 Conditional Column Visibility Whitespace Issue

Hi Everyone,I am using IIF statements to show/hide tablix columns based upon a parameter value. These statements are used as expressions in the visibility properties for the columns.If the parameter value is one that causes the column to be hidden, the coulmn does not appear on the report, but there is whitespace in its place.I have used this functionality very frequently in SSRS 2005 without the whitespace issue. The 2005 report automagically closed this whitespace up by moving the column to the right of the hidden one to now be adjacent to the column to the left of the hidden one at rendering. This is what i need to happen now in 2008.Has anyone else experienced this? If so, would you please share your solution? I am getting extremely frustrated by this...Thanks!!

Managed Metadata column not grouping correctly

I'm trying to group a list by a Managed Metadata column, it works fine with my farm admin/site collection admin user account however i can't get it to work for any other user account. I've tried giving one of the other user accounts term store admin but still no luck. With these user accounts all i get is one group which contains all items regardless of what term is selected for the item. The single group displays as an empty term e.g. it looks something like 'MetaData Column: (80)'. However if you look at individual columns you can see what term has been selected.

If it makes any difference I'm experiencing the issue while using an Enterprise Wiki site, I'm trying to group pages in the pages library by the 'Wiki Categories' column. I've set the field to point to a new term set and disabled multiple entries.

Any ideas?

Grouping by "multiple choices" column

This is for Sharepoint 2010

In a document library, I am trying to create a view that would group files by "projects". A file could be part of multiple projects.

file1.doc : projectA, projectB
file2.doc : projectB
file3.doc : projectB, projectC

I would like the view to show things this way :

By default Sharepoint does not allow grouping by "multiple choices" columns. However it seems that using sharepoint designer this could be done. I could only find articles on how to do this in MOSS 2007 but not MOSS 2010 (http://blog-sharepoint.blogspot.com/2009/09/solved-cant-group-by-choice-column-in.html).

Any suggestion on how I could achieve my goal with sharepoint designer 2010 ?

Thank you

CQWP QueryOverride grouping issue

I have extended content query web part and using dynamic caml for query. I specified grouping in toolpart but the same group headers will appear several times. I referred http://sptoolbox.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=33346 and many other posts which said this issue can be solved using OrderBy in the dynamic caml for the same field as grouping.

I tried adding OrderBy in the caml but run into errors. Follwing code works fine if OrderBy is removed:

            public string CreateCAMLQuery(List<string> names)
                StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();
                for (int i = 0; i < names.Count; i++)
                    AppendEQ(sb, names[i]);

Datagrid: Rendering issue with Star-Column

if i define a usercontrol with datagrid on it, which has one star column in the middle, it has a ugly rendering issue when its resized/shown. it seems that the calculation of star column's width is asynchronous started in OnRender.

here is the repro xaml code:

<UserControl x:Class="DatagridTest.UserControl1"
       d:DesignHeight="300" d:DesignWidth="300">

  <Grid DataContext="{Binding Source={StaticResource SampleDataSource}}">
    <DataGrid x:Name="dGrid" ItemsSource="{Binding Collection}" AutoGenerateColumns="False" RowHeight="40" >
        <DataGridTemplateColumn Width="100">
                <Label Content="{Binding Property1}" Height="30"/>

New column issue - Error number: MSSQL_REPL-2147199478

In merge replication we have following issue which appears from time to time in few subscriptions.

When I added new column to table by using following procedure:

sp_repladdcolumn @source_object = N'TABLE_NAME'

,@column = N'NEW_COLUMN_NAME'

, @typetext =N'tinyint null'

, @publication_to_add = N'PUBLICATION_NAME'

, @from_agent = 0

, @schema_change_script = null

, @force_invalidate_snapshot = 0

, @force_reinit_subscription = 0

replication for few subscriptions gets following error:

The schema definition of the destination table 'dbo'.'TABLE_NAME' in the subscription database does not match the schema definition of the source table in the publication database. Reinitialize the subscription without a snapshot

SQL2008 Filestream Column Issue

I've got a table that uses the SQL 2008 FILESTREAM feature for storing binary data within a filegroup.
This feature is not supported by Management Studio so any designer modification will remove the feature from the column.

My question is, how would one recover from this? Reattaching the attribute and the binary data link to the filegroup? It doesn’t seem possible?
With thousands of records this could mean massive data issues should someone modify the table with the GUI.
