Can Not load WPF project in Visual Studio 2005 on Win7 64 system, says "Project file not supported b

Dear all I am facing an issue in creating new wpf project or loading a WPF project in Visual studio 2005. I have installed Visual Studio 2005 Service pack - 1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=bb4a75ab-e2d4-4c96-b39d-37baf6b5b1dc&displaylang=en) but still I can not see the option for wpf project  while creating a new project. Generally we can see WPF listing under item File -->New-->Project--> ".Net Framework 3.0" in VS 2005. I have few WPF project and when i try to load them it says "Project file not supported by this Installation". My System Config is given below: OS: Windows 7 (64 Bit) VS: Visual Studio 2005 with Service Pack 1 .Net Framework: 3.5 (By default inbuilt in Win7 OS)   I am suspecting something bugging related to .Net framework 3.0 in Win7. We have one option in control panel to alter .NetFramework 3.5 under "Turn Windows Features on or Off" but there I can not see something related to 3.0 :-(.   Kindly suggest how can I load my existing project and how can enable option to create new wpf Projects.   I saw few solutions suggested by people on following Thread bt most of them related to Windows XP or Vista: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/vswpfdesigner/thread/06cf7bca-982c-44cf-aec9-99cf399b3000 Do someone has solution for Windows 7 (64 bit OS)

SSRS 2005 external images won't display - images on DIFFERENT file server

Hi, Been having trouble getting external images to display in reports rendered on SSRS 2005. Images are displayed as a red X. However, my scenario is different from some of the examples I have read about. - The images are stored on a file server that is DIFFERENT from the box on which the Report Service is running. For various business reasons I cannot copy the images locally to the Report Service box. I am using "file://fileserver/path/to/image.jpg" to retrieve the images. - Since the file server does not have IIS installed, I cannot access the images using the URL method (http:// access). I need to use the file:// method. Currently I am prototyping this setup on my test box, which is running XP Pro and IIS 5.1. The Report Service is installed on this same box. I am currently testing this through the Report Manager web site (http://servername/Reports). The images are displayed using the Image control, which I added to the report using the visual report designer in Visual Studio 2005. It is set up with source=External and with "file://fileserver/path/to/image.jpg" path values. File names are retrieved from our database and file paths are built dynamically using a data processing extension I have written. My best guess as to why this is happening is that the ASPNET service account on my test box does not have access to the particular share on the file serve

SQL-Server 2005 x64 / windows server 2003 x64 crashes during file copy

Hi We are running: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard - 9.00.4294.00 (X64) Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 We have gigabit interface. Today we copied a file (using robocopy) from our databaseserver to another server (backup-server). The copy was started from the backup-server and source were specified using UNC. The copy were using about 20% of the bandwith (about 200Mbit). During the copy, sql-server reported several errors, for example: AppDomain 15 (mp.dbo[runtime].14) is marked for unload due to memory pressure. The client was unable to reuse a session with SPID 75, which had been reset for connection pooling. This error may have been caused by an earlier operation failing. Check the error logs for failed operations immediately before this error message. ***Stack Dump being sent to [PATH\SQLDump0005.txt Resource Monitor (0x1384) Worker 0x000000008000C1C0 appears to be non-yielding on Node 0. Memory freed: 0 KB. Approx CPU Used: kernel 15 ms, user 218 ms, Interval: 428541. So to me it appears that sql-server crashed during a file copy. We have 27 GB ram. With 24.5 GB dedicated to SQL-Server. The files we copied were quite large, some over 50GB. I found a similar issue about this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/920739/ Do you think the issue above could be the cause of the sql-server crash? ///Patrik

SSIS 2005 - Foreach loop container - Stopping the loop after processing X number of file?

I need to stop the Foreach loop container from processing more files in the folder than desired. Scenario:  If I only want 1 files processed, i need to stop the loop after it finds 1 file.  No matter what the contraints or tests or variables I set, the loop processes all the files in the folder.  This is bad because I need the value of the 1st mapped variable and not the last one it finds. I have tried counting records and setting variables used in the contraints but to no avail  Nothing seems to stop the loop. Please advise

Unable to install SQL Server 2005 SP2 - Unable to install Windows Installer MSI File

I have been trying to figure out how to fix this problem for the past couple of days and I was unable to find an answer to my specific problem in the forum. My OS is Windows XP Professional SP3 on MacBook Pro, using Parallels Desktop 4.0. Every single time Windows update tries to install SQL Server 2005 SP2, it fails. I am using Business Contact Manager with Outlook 2007 and SQL Server stops randomly and I am forced to restart the software. I am not sure if it is relevant to this specific problem but I thought I would make a note of this.I have downloaded SP2 and tried to install it locally but that did not work. Read Binary Data which is nothing but a Zip file and unzip through SSIS 2005 SP2

Hi ALL, I need some help in developing a task. I have a source database which is Oracle and it has a ZIP file stored inside the database in Binary format. When I move this data into the sql server 2005 database I get the data as binary data. Now the task begins with SSIS, I need to read the binary data which gives us a zip file and then unzip this zip file and read the XML data which is present inside the Zip file. I beleive some one might have already developed this task can you share the solution with us. Note: As this has to be moved into production I dont have permission to use third party tools like Cozy roc or install winrar.exe and simpy calling this exe from the execute process task in SSIS.  Raju

Shrink database log file sql server 2005

Hi, I am trying to shrink log file for a testing database. This database will be restored with production database periodically. When i tried to create backup of the log file Processed 0 pages for database 'hcbeta', file 'HC_log' on file 6. The log was not truncated because records at the beginning of the log are pending replication. Ensure the Log Reader Agent is running or use sp_repldone to mark transactions as distributed. BACKUP LOG successfully processed 0 pages in 0.423 seconds (0.000 MB/sec). I tried EXEC sp_repldone @xactid = NULL, @xact_segno = NULL, @numtrans = 0, @time = 0, @reset = 1 Resulted with error:Unable to execute procedure. The database is not published. Execute the procedure in a database that is published for replication. So tried to publish the database using EXEC sp_dboption 'hcbeta', 'Publish', 'true' resulted error mesage:Msg 15242, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_dboption, Line 138 Database option 'Publish' is not unique. and retrived duplicate_options as "merge Publish" ,"Publish" Plesae help me in shrinking my database log file. Thanks, Adi.

Why doesn't SQL Server 2005 Enterprise always shrink a log file after a backup?

I have several databases that, despite being backed up regularly, do not release space to the operating system.  In one extreme case, I have a log file that is less than 1% utilized (and has been for months.) I know how to manually force a shrink, but I should not need to do that on any sort of regular basis.  In fact, it is against best practices to manually shrink a log file (or any database file for that matter) because of the very high risk of an unrecoverable error. It is my understanding that SQL Server will eventually handle these things on its own.  However, it does not appear to be doing so.  Any thoughts as to why? Thanks, Dave

SQL Server 2005 (X64) Maintenance Clean Up Task Using Hours Option for File Age

I'm running into an issue with SQL Server 2005 64-bit and the maintenance clean up tasks.  I have it set up to delete any transaction logs or backups older than 12 hours.  It seems that there could be some sort of bug because, according to the log files, SQL is running the clean up for 12 days instead.  I've created a work around for this by using execute transact-sql tasks instead, but was wondering if there's a problem with my version of SQL Server, like an SP or patch that I've overlooked. Here's my version information: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1399.06 (X64)   Oct 14 2005 00:35:21   Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation  Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)

Need help with SQL 2005 Dump file.

Hi Everyone,

Last night non- yielding scheduler error was logged in one of our production SQL databases during backup. SQL version is SQL 2005 standard edition(32 bit) SP3.

I debug the dump file but couldn't interpret it.

Could this issue be fixed by applying Cumulative update 1 for SQL 2005 SP3?

Problem with Linked servers from sql 2005 to Excel file

I am probably doing something stupid BUT I am creating a linked server to an excel file, I have done this on sql2005sp2x64 using the ace ole 12 provder, and replicated on another machine running sql2005sp2x32 using the jet4 provider and I am having the same problem on both.  I have turned allow inprocess option on on both providers.  I as an administrator on the machine where the database and datafile are residing have no problem accessing the linked server and the file underneath however any enduser that is not in the local administrators group gets the error   Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provier "Either provider I have tried" for linked server    SQL Server Error 7303.  I have checked file permissions, and they are open to the world, I have tried both use existing authentication and use no authentication when accessing the linked server.  and I have tried endless different combinations of providers and provider strings.  I have went as far as having the enduser create a linked server to an excel file on his local machine (which he is admin on and I am not)   and he can access the file .. and I can not.  so I am just assuming there is some sort of security setting somewhere .. that I am just missing.

Shrining db file in sql 2005

I have a dabase for which 170gig of space was reserved, but used only 65.   I ran this command DBCC SHRINKFILE('xyz', 80000).  This is running now for almost two hours.  Would anyone know why it is taking so long?  Can I cancel this command without any side effects?

Thanks in advance
