Invalid length for a Base-64 char array - how do I check the length?????

Invalid length for a Base-64 char array

I am encrypting and decrypting my querystring. I need a way of checking the querystrings length before I decrypt it. When I mess with the querystring, shorten it for example, my decryption method fails. Can somebody help me with the if statement please to check the length of the urlDecode string??????

What would make array.length return an incorrect number?

[sub-titled: array.length is working correctly, but Nick has almost certainly done something stupid.]

This is probably obvious, but has got me mystified.  I have an array which is being created like this:

var TempPoints = $get('<%=PointList.ClientID%>').value;
PointsList = eval(TempPoints);

The field coming in from the server is formatted like this:

[[1,2], [3,4], [5,6], ......... [99, 100]]

So, after the eval has done its work, PointsList is an array of objects, each of which is an array containing two numbers.  If I then do a PointsList.length, I would expect to see the number of elements in the array.  I then of course need to remember that the array is zero based and that the last element is (PointsList.length - 1).  Well, so I would have thought!

In fact, the length seems to be reporting one more than it should, so the last element is actually (PointsList.length - 2).

That is borne out by what I can see in the Visual Studio debugger:

Visual Studio Screenshot

As you can see there, the array has elements 0 through 138 - but the length is reported as 140.

What am I missing?

The maximum array length quota (16384) has been exceeded while reading XML data.

I am getting this error when I try to send a message to my service. I have updated the ReaderQuotas on both the client and the server. Is there something else that I need to do to get the service to accept the message?

How to find the xy coordinate of an element in a pixel array ?

Lets say that we copy the pixels of an image to an array as follows:

//Copy the pixels to the array
ImgSource.CopyPixels(PixelData, Stride, 0);

Now we have the image as a one dimensional array in PixelData. Is there a way to find out the (x,y) coordinate of each element in this array ?

I need this in order to determine which points in the array are within a specific x,y region.

Where does the Debugger get an array element's "Value" from?

When I have an array of objects the Debugger shows the name of the class as the "Value" for each element of the array.  That's not very useful.  My class, from which I obtain the elements of the array, did not contain a ToString method so I added one, thinking that the Debugger was likely using the Class's ToString method to obtain the "Value".  But that accomplished nothing.  So ... where does the Debugger obtain the "Value" from?  Is there any way my code can supply that "Value" so that I can make it something more useful?

Thanks,  Bob

UpdatePanel is not a known element - message when upgrading to 1.0 ajax

It worked on one of my old pages.  I change the web.config, renamed all the <asp.

On some aspx page it doesn't recognize the updatepanel.  It only does on one page.  If I create a new aspx page with a different name - then it works.

Should I just create a new web project ajax - then copy all my code into there?  Or is there a way to get those old pages to recognize the new ajax controls?

How to cast integer values as an array of enum values?

Hello all!

I'm working with VS2010 Beta2, ASP.NET and Dynamic Data. I'm using VB but will certainly be happy to receive a C# example if necessary. Laughing

I used a few of Steve's examples (Writing Attributes and Extension Methods for Dynamic Data and Dynamic Data - Hiding Columns in selected PageTemplates) to create a custom property attribute to be applied to a dynamic data column and want it to accept an array of enum values (each value will represent a dynamic data page template where this column should not be displayed).  My new attribute works fine when I hardcode it like this, meaning the HideColumnIn attribute is properly populated with the array of enum values:

<HideColumnIn(PageTemplate.List, PageTemplate.Edit)> _
Public Property My_DD_Column As Object

However, I want to store the values to be used for the HideColumnIn in the DB as integer values that correspond to the

get value from xml element

Unity - Inject array

I have the following in the config file...

container.RegisterType<ProductInstanceValidatorBase, CartItemStockValidator>();
container.RegisterType<ProductInstanceValidatorBase, MonthlyCartItemValidator>();

..constructor like so...

 public CartValidator(ProductInstanceValidatorBase[] validators)
   this.validators = validators;

...I call the following but the array is empty...

Any ideas?

Cheers, WT.

Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'CurrencyProxy.CurrencyServiceSoap

I created 2 projects in my solution:

  1. Classic asp.net web service (asmx)
  2. Class library project which references service
  3. web site project which references class library project
  4. Windows app project which references service.

Both projects were created in 3.5 framework and in Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2.

I added web service reference to Class library project. When it asked for namespace I typed "CurrencyProxy". Projects build ok, but when I run web app, Class library throws an error: Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'CurrencyProxy.CurrencyServiceSoap' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this contract could be found in the client element.

I believe it has something to do with app.config in Class library project. Here is part from app.config:

<binding name="CurrencyServiceSoap" closeTimeout=
