Blog - Disable hyperlink for user accounts posting and commenting

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 14, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Hello Everyone,

Is there a way to disable the Hyperlink created when a user creates a blog entry and when someone comments on the post? We want limit any redirection to user profile pages within the sharepoint site and this is last part we need to figure out.

Example: "Posted at 12:39 PM by Employee Blog"

Thoughts or solutions?

Regards. D

Custom workflows don't start via user accounts

Hi! Topic started here, http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepoint2010setup/thread/a51673e5-ec13-408d-b512-4cc98d84fdd8 As adviced copy it  to this subforum. I have the following problem. Custom workflows dont start. In the log there are following errors: Workflow Infrastructure 72fv Unexpected AutoStart Workflow: System.ArgumentException: New instances of this workflow template are currently disallowed. at Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowManager.StartWorkflowElev(Object context, SPWorkflowAssociation association, DateTime elevationTimeUtc, SPWorkflowEvent startEvent, SPWorkflowRunOptions runOptions) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowAutostartEventReceiver.<>c__DisplayClass1.<AutoStartWorkflow>b__0(SPSite superUserSite, SPWeb superUserWeb) Workflow Infrastructure 72fv Unexpected AutoStart Workflow: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowManager.GetEngine(SPWorkflowAssociation association) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowManager.StartWorkflowElev(Object context, SPWorkflowAssociation association, DateTime elevationTimeUtc, SPWorkflowEvent startEvent, SPWorkflowRunOptions runOptions) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowAutostartEventReceiver.<>c__DisplayClass1.<AutoStartWorkflow>b__0(SPSite superUserSite, SPWeb

Object Cache set with Portal Super User accounts. Access denied to site.

I have the same issue on multiple farms. In this example i'll outline this problem for a three tier farm. SharePoint web server SharePoint Application server (hosts central admin) Sql server After installation and configuration i have created two web applications (claims based auth with NTLM). https://portal.contoso.com https://mysite.contoso.com The client connects on the URLs to the web server (1st tier). All is working correctly and they can access the portal and their mysite. The log file keeps reporting that i need to configure the user accounts for the Object Chache. So, i looked up the required steps and executed these conform mcrosoft guidelines (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff758656.aspx) All the steps run seccesfully. But when i connect to the URL i now get an access denied (even with the administrator who is site collection administrator) In the log file i get the following to lines when i connect to the site. Unknown SPRequest error occurred. More information: 0x80070002 Unknown SPRequest error occurred. More information: 0x80070005 I have exact the same issue on two other farms. Marc

Enable/Disable controls dynamically based on User settings

In my project I have a requirement that all controls in each window shall be enabled or visible dependent on user and the admin shall be able to change is a user will be able to use or see the control. I made a very simple test application that creates a user and gives him a list (will be loaded from db in real app) of the name of the controls in the window and also his settings. Then after initializing the window I use reflection to find the controls and set their isenabled/visibility properties. This solution does the thing but I'm wondering if there is a better solution. The main issue here is that each control must be set per user and thus roles wont work appropriate and also that I need to be able to change the settings at runtime.

Posting blog entries or announcements to multiple sites

I am in the process of mapping out our new sharepoint farm. In order to structure this properly I would like to be able to post an entry either as a blog or an annoucment to more than one site at the same time. An example would be a company announcement on an internal staff site as well as a team site with our consultants. Is this at all possible in any way? Or would these need to be posted in each place individually.

how can i disable a Login when the user is already online somewhere?

i need a code to disable someone who automatic Logout the second login of the same user at the same time. EXPLANATION: when a user is online on a particular system and he tries to Login on another system without Logging out on the previous system, so i need a code to Log him/she out since he/she Login is still online on another system

MSSQL Merge Replication User Accounts

Running SQL Server 2008 (not R2) Enterprise, and merge replication via web.  I am using a domain account for the Agent Process Account on the subscriber, and it only seems to pull the subscription when the user is logged in! Anyone seen this before? Do I need to create a new account to run this under?  I've tried using system accounts but it says bad password or no access.

Viewing original blog posting from search page

I have an installation of WSS 3.0 with a blog.  When users search in the blog, results are returned as expected on the search page with one line containing the search phrase.  However when they click on a result they are taken to a Comments page for the posting and can't see the text of the original post which is generally the reason for the search.  The link on the search hit (ex: http://server1:8000/thelog/Lists/Posts/ViewPost.aspx?ID=232) does the same thing.  How can they access the original text of a blog posting from a search or how can the original text be included on the Comments page?  Thanks!

How can I replace domain user accounts with a general database account?

Blog - Changing the URL of user account on posts.

When a post is created on a SharePoint 2010 blog, the title of the post and author is displayed. When clicking on the authors name it brings up the userdisp.aspx with all their info. I need to redirect them to another page that displays the author's bio instead.

Someone told me that I need somehow rewrite the URL inside the div.ms-PostFooter tag. I have absoutely no knowledge of Javascript. Can someone please help??

DIsable Hyperlink once it is clicked

SharePoint Blog - Disabling or redirecting hyperlink of username who posted

Is there anyway to disbale the username of the poster? For example, when a post is created the next line displays by username on 10/6/2010 3:00pm. I've seen other Sharepoint blogs where this is disbled.

If cannot be disable is there any way to redirect to a different url when the hyperlink is clicked? I know this has to be done with div.ms-postfooter, but can't find any info anywhere.

Disable/Lock user out of a database

is there an easy way to disable or lock a user at the database level?   eg:  a user has access to several DB's on a server and I want to disable/lock them out of just 1 or 2 DB's but not all the DB's on that server.   I also would need a convenient way to re-enable them to that database.

Posting on behalf of someone / Impersonate user in UI - SharePoint 2010

I want to know if there is a way for someone to post something on behalf of someone else in SharePoint Server 2010 without too much custom code?

e.g.: Our CEO has a blog but no time to post on it. The goal is to have his assistant post on his blog but it needs to appear as if he is doing the posting. That's just one example but there is many others where one department needs to post as if that department head is actually replying himself (blogs, comments, list, news, etc).

Sharing credentials is not an option.
