Hi

We are deploying a attendance application system in which user need to punch out their time.

In the system we want to capture, client PC and client IP address. I got it by using server variables.

I also want to capture the PC from which they actually logon.

i.e

If they loged the site from a pc which is in office by using any remote desktop tool which is in ofifce or outside office, i want to capture the remote pc from where they used remote desktop tool to access the pc in office.

Is it possible without using any activex?

Please let me know the solution and also some sample code

Unablke to logon on Sharepoint 2007 front-end with remote IE8 client

We are having problems to logon on the sharepoint front-end server from a client pc, within the same network. The Sharepoint 2007 servers are running on WIndows 2008 Datacenter (2 Front ends, 1 index, 1 SQL database 2008 server).

When we try to logon the server creates an event with id 4625, status: 6d, sub-status: 6a. When we use the same account from IE 8.0 on one of the servers within the farm, then it works.

The same configuration is installed within another environment where evereything works.

Is there somebody that solved this issue??

WCF Client (netTcpBinding) does not connect to remote DNS on Vista and Windows 7

Hi, WCF Client (netTcpBinding) does not connect to remote DNS on Vista and Windows 7. With other OS like XP and Windows 2003, client connects to remote DNS properly. I got the following exception. Same client works in Vista and Windows 7 if service is available in local network. Following are the exceptions: <Exception> <ExceptionType>System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException, System.ServiceModel, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089</ExceptionType> <Message>No DNS entries exist for host icelive.theice.com.</Message> <StackTrace> at System.ServiceModel.Channels.DnsCache.Resolve(String hostName) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.SocketConnectionInitiator.GetIPAddresses(Uri uri) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.SocketConnectionInitiator.Connect(Uri uri, TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.BufferedConnectionInitiator.Connect(Uri uri, TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.TracingConnectionInitiator.Connect(Uri uri, TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ConnectionPoolHelper.EstablishConnection(TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ClientFramingDuplexSessionChannel.OnOpen(TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.CommunicationObject.Open(TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel.OnOpen(TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.Comm

MySQL: can't connect from remote client code

Hi
I have a MySQL data at a web hotel. I can connect to the database from my web application hosted at the hotel . But trying to connect from a client application running on my PC fails using the same ConnetionString. The error is: Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts

In fact the method below (the method is protected in the web application) fails in my client application but works in my web application.

private void button8_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string MyConString = "server=db.MYSITE.dk;user;" +
"pwd=PASSWORD;database=DATABASE" ;

label1.Text = label1.Text + MyConString;

MySqlConnection connection = new MySqlConnection();
connection.ConnectionString = MyConString;

try
{
connection.Open();
}
catch (MySqlException ex)
{
label7.Text = ex.Message;
}

}

I just tried to download WorkBench 5.2 and HeidiSQL, both connects to the database from my PC when supplying server and password information.

Any help that will allow me to connect to the database from my client application I much appreciated. I use connector 6.2.4

Remote Event's handler in client application

I am using C# with Singleton. on .NET framework 1.1
I want to call an event using delegate on remote object and want to handle it into client application.

After building remote object 's project(Class library) I have copied that .DLL in client and added reference to it in client project.
In server config file I have set typeFilterLevel to full.

But I am not able todo that. It is showing Security exception.

Do I need to write cusomized sink to do that or without that also It can be done.

I need the simplest way to do that.

If Source code of my apllication is required  let me know... I will post that too...

Thanks.

Use jQuery and ASP.NET AJAX to build a client side Repeater

By sending only data to the client, you can profoundly reduce the size of what you send and see a substantial increase in performance. You also allow yourself the ability to easily add features like light-weight sorting and paging on the client. This can not only improve your users' experience, but reduce server load and bandwidth requirements.

Client Side Gridview Pagination using JQuery

I would like to show how to use Client Side Gridview Pagination using Jquery Table Pagination Plugin by using Ryan Zielke.

To that end, I'm going to walk you through these four steps to effectively implementing a client side Repeater, using ASP.NET AJAX and jQuery:

Practical Multithreading for Client Apps

Writing applications that use multiple threads is often considered an advanced programming task, prone to errors. In this month's column, I'll focus on a practical application of multithreading in Windows® Forms applications with some real benefits, while attempting to keep things simple. My goal is to present multithreading in an approachable way that addresses a very common need: writing applications with a user interface that remain responsive to the user.

Adding Client-Side Confirmation When Deleting

The JavaScript confirm(string) function displays its string input parameter as the text inside a modal dialog box that comes equipped with two buttons - OK and Cancel (see Figure 1). The confirm(string) function returns a Boolean value depending on what button is clicked (true, if the user clicks OK, and false if they click Cancel).

want to execute url without showing that page or url to client.

hello friends,

I need ur help,what i want to do is to execute a url ("To send a text message to client") on client registration but without showing that url page, in short executing url without displaying any page or url to the client.

Client script not running

Dear all,

in my MVC 2 application, and in the shared Master Page I wrote this little script for menu handling :

<script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () {

     $('#nav li').hover(
         function () {
             //show its submenu
             $('ul', this).slideDown(100);

         },
        function () {
           //hide its submenu
            $('ul', this).slideUp(100);
         }
     );

 });</script>

The script, that shows menu items when the

VS2010 Professional .NET 4.0 Remote Debugging ASP Website Project

Trying to remote debug ASP website from VS2010 Pro to Windows Server 2003 machine.  Specifically, trying to debug a Web Service, but breakpoint says, "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document."  This happens for all compiled code though.  I have read this is due to missing PDB files and the work around is to manually copy them, as noted here.  Problem is, I cannot find any PDB files for my project, except referenced libraries, which I can remote debug.

Verified

  • web.config has <compilation debug="true">
  • Debugger is attached to wewp.exe process on remote server
  • Installed VS2010 remote debugger from DVD (as I can remote debug referenced libraries)

This is beyond frustrating.  I migrated my code from VS2008 .Net3.5 to VS2010 .Net4.0 to take advantage of the inherent multithreading framework.  Debugging works when using local host and was stable until deployment to test server.

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

How do I preserve __viewstate between cross domain posts or how do I get a __viewstate of a Remote S

Here is what I want to do:
I have a local site in which I want to display data from a remote site
Lets say: I want to display data of http://www.abc.com/Default.aspx on my localhost

Now Default.aspx requires some post-data which it sends to itself. Thus the __viewstate and __eventvalidation are posted back to it by itself. I want to directly post the data to Default.aspx from localhost without opening Default.aspx and display the Default.aspx's response on my localhost.

The WebApp on http://www.abc.com is configured for __eventvalidation i.e. I cannot post-data to it from my localhost without getting a __viewstate from it. I also have to post the current __viewstate of http://www.abc.com/Default.aspx to itself

How can I accomplish it?

Problem to obtain client IP on web service

Friends,

I'm having problems to obtain the client IP on web service. Here's my scenario:

One server with Windows 2003, hosting the web service using .Net Framework 2.0, with IP 10.0.2.50 and host name ServerTransaction.
Other server with Windows 2003, hosting a web application using .Net Framework 2.0, that consuming the web service on  ServerTransaction, with IP 10.0.2.51 and host name ServerApplication.
Many other computers on the local network (IPs: 10.0.2.80, 10.0.2.81, 10.0.2.82, ...) acessing the web application on ServerApplication.

On the code of the web service I've tried to use HttpContext.Current.Request.UserHostAddress or HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_ADDR") or HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FORR"), but always I can only get the IP of ServerApplication (10.0.2.51).

Any idea or tip?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.
