XML has quickly become the new data structure standard for everything from database access to cross-platform computing. XML is typically considered to be a vehicle for data exchange, dynamic data presentation, and data storage. However, the potential of XML far surpasses those limited applications. This article examines one new use: the gathering of data across a number of forms in an ASP.NET Beta 1 framework application. The sample program is a Web app used for ordering pizza. It uses ASP and C# to gather order information and then stores it in XML. To build the application, several concepts are explained, including data collection, order persistence using cookies, grouping input forms, and formatting the data for display.

I have published a sharepoint website that I created but I now have the following problem:
I'm using a site scoped feature to add a reference to jquery.js:
After activating the feature for a publishing site I no longer can insert a picture from Sharepoint. The Asset Picker dialog throws a script error when I select an image:
Error: 'style' is null or not an object'
My workaround is to add the .js reference directly in the masterpage instead, that does not affect the Asset picker. The error is easilly reproduced on my development server + a production server. I'm hoping anyone else has solved the issue because I would
really like to use the cool ScriptSrc also for publishing sites.
My task is to my company's branding solution to two new sites. I can upload the solution but I cannot activate it. I can't activate it because SharePoint Publishing is turned off on the sites. When I attempt to turn on SharePoint Publishing, I get this error:
The feature being activated is a Site scoped feature which has a dependency on a Site Collection scoped feature which has not been activated. Please activate the following feature before trying again: SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure
The Site scoped feature being activated has a dependency on hidden Site scoped feature 'FeatureDefinition/22a9ef51-737b-4ff2-9346-694633fe4416' (ID: '22a9ef51-737b-4ff2-9346-694633fe4416'). Hidden features cannot be auto-activated across scopes.
There may be one or more visible Site scoped features that auto-activate the dependent hidden feature.
I can't seem to locate the Publishing Infrastructure feature. The Site Collection List provides information about each site collection but no access to their features. How do I turn on Publishing Infrastructure?
I created a new site collection and set the root site as a publishing portal. I then went into "manage site features" under "Site Actions" and activated the "Team Collaboration Lists" feature. However I cannot find
the "Team Site" template when I try to create a new site. Is there a feature I'm missing?
What to do , so that custom site definition tab should appear at site collection level only?
What to do , so that custom site definition tab should appear at subsite level only?
what to do , so that particular site definition tab should not appear at particular subsite level at all.

I am new to SharePoint. Started playing with SharePoint 2010 & VS2010 Premium on Windows Server 2008 R2.
Here is my doubt:
I have created a custom STS web site in VS 2010. Now I want to host it on that site on SharePoint Web Server(IIS 7.5). But when I am trying to publish from VS 2010 it shows following error: "Visual Web Developer does not support creating Web sites on
a SharePoint Web server".
Can you please help on this issue.
thanks in advance.
