Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException at one customer

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 14, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi everybody,

I have a c# asp.net web application in .net 1.1. The web application is a website in IIS and works online at the world wide web. There are very much customers all over the world of that website and everything works fine. There is one customer in germany where it doesnt work fine. When he press on a button "New" he gets a popup with the error:

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.

In the past he didnt get this error. I ask this customer to check the website on another machine in his organisation, but he still get this error. So its something in the organisation. Some machine settings or network settings I think, because other customers didn't get this error.

Someone know why this organisation get this error ? Is it possible that the problem is at the machine or network settings? Or something with the web browser version/settings?

Error Help: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException

Hello Everyone,

I've checked out Eilon's blog on this error, tried everything he mentioned, and it still doesn't work.  Also, I've added the "enablepartialrendering" to my script manager and it points me to another error that I can't seem to fix ("sys.webforms.pagerequestmanager is null...").

That being said, I have 2 pages in the same directory.  Telerik AJAX controls work fine on one but do not work on the other, the one giving me this error.  The 2 pages are set up identically, Telerik loading panels, ajax panels, radgrids, tab strips, multi-page viewers, the code behind...

I get the above error when I try clicking the "add new record" button.

What could the problem be?  If I need to paste some code in here to diagnose, please let me know and I will do so.  Thanks for taking the time out of your day to assist me.

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException inside gridview

I get this javascript excepction when clicking on the ImageButton inside a gridview.

Message: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.
Details: Error parsing near '
<!DOCTYPE html PUB'.
Line: 4723

The gridview is placed inside UpdatePanel, i have no trrigers for this UpdatePanel. When clicking on the button I show a modularpopup which is outside of the update panel.

I searched over the internet and did not find any solution for me to this problem.

I read this link http://weblogs.asp.net/leftslipper/archive/2007/02/26/sys-webforms-pagerequestmanagerparsererrorexception-what-it-is-and-how-to-avoid-it.aspx

where the author describes the reasons when it can happen.

I don't have any of these on my page - no Response.Write, no filters and no HttpHandllers.

The strange thing is when the page is loaded and I wait just a little bit before clicking the button it will work without the error, if I click on

What's new in ASP.NET 4.0 - Part II - Routing in Webforms

This post covers one such feature which is Routing in Webforms. Although Routing was available even in .NET 3.5 SP1, (check this excellent post by Phil Haack on implementing Routing in ASP.NET 3.5 with .NET 3.5 SP1), it was kind of less known. Also the plumbing work was too much for getting it implemented.

Dynamic page customization in WebForms

Hello,

I am developing an ASP.NET Webforms application for job advertisements. The application is hosted on my own server and enables registrated users to publish job advertisements with the possibility to submit job applications directly from web. The application essentially consists of two parts: job advertisements and job applications sub-apps.

The job advertisement application uses RESTful approach, implemented as ASP.NET routing and makes no use of different state variables (like viewstate). I provide custom layout of job advertisement webpage for every client using XML serialization of my internal JobOffer class and using XML ASP.NET control with custom XSLT transformation sheet plus CSS to render the custom design. It is all fine and works perfectly.

The second (job applications) part provides users with a custom webform, which is partically dependent upon the original advertisement (regarding the minimal education level, eligible citizenship or work permissions, licences etc.) and can be tweacked using custom CSS. There is, however, no possibility for custom layout of the elements on this page, which provides a multi-tabbed navigation for different parts of job application. Hence the question 1 (see below).

The application is not ready yet, but I intend to keep it hosted on my own server and provide just some ki

I am trying to use ReportViewer 9 in Visual Studio 8 but I get this error when I try to run the page:

The base class includes the field 'ReportViewer1', but its type (Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer) is not compatible with the type of control (Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer).

Please help if you can!

ASP.NET: Collect Customer Order Information on an Internet Site Using XML and Web Forms

XML has quickly become the new data structure standard for everything from database access to cross-platform computing. XML is typically considered to be a vehicle for data exchange, dynamic data presentation, and data storage. However, the potential of XML far surpasses those limited applications. This article examines one new use: the gathering of data across a number of forms in an ASP.NET Beta 1 framework application. The sample program is a Web app used for ordering pizza. It uses ASP and C# to gather order information and then stores it in XML. To build the application, several concepts are explained, including data collection, order persistence using cookies, grouping input forms, and formatting the data for display.

Design for Easy Integration into Customer's Sites

This is my second ASP.net project, and I'm looking for suggestions or approaches rather than specifics, but here goes.

The project, once done, will provide a "portal" into a limited portion of the client's database.  All clients are using a SQL database, but various server software products are involved (MSSQL, MySQL, and others).

My question, however, has more to do with the "look and feel" of the finished product.  We want to be able to integrate our 'portal' easily into the client's websites and have it look as seamless as possible.  Obviously, placements of logos, etc. -- but also colors, fonts, etc.

Client sites tend to be simplistic in design.  We envision the customer placing a link to our site from theirs, and our site will be running on IIS on their server.  At least that's the plan.

The goal right now would be to make as much of this "parameter driven" as possible, so that a lot of the install can be accomplished through some simple settings, isolated in one or two files such that at installation time we can tweak those settings and be up-and-running in a short period of time with a site that integrates reasonably well with the customer's.

But I'm uncertain as to whether there is a better approach.  Obviously, we could try to redes

Video: The Access Show: Recap of the SharePoint Developer Conference and Customer Demos

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown

I have written a web application that allows user to view crystal reports. When they select the report, application shows the parameters and when they enter parameters and click on OK, it processes the report and displays it on screen. My problem is, I added the AJAX Update panel with Updateprogress control. Now when users enter the parameters and click on Ok, it runs sometimes and then suddenly gives the following message:

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500

I have triple checked my project to make sure there are no Response.Write / server.tranfer commands. What I have is a label control and it displays any error in the try catch block. Now when I have the AJAX controls, if there is an error it does not even display the error on the label. It either refreshes the screen or show the above error. I googled and could not find a proper solution for this. Only option is to remove the AJAX control. I use VS2005.

The problem is when I run the same report 20 times, 2 or 3 times I get the above error.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Customer Segmentation based on purchase behavior

Hi I am trying to use MS clustering algorithm to segment our customers, just based on customer purchase behavior, we have two tables:   --customer table create table dm_msdm.scmolstp_city_mcc_accounts( olst_txn_acct_nbr character varying(19) NOT NULL ); --customer purchase table create table dm_msdm.scmolstp_city_mcc_aggregated( olst_txn_acct_nbr character varying(19) NOT NULL, olst_mcc_code numeric(4,0), olst_mcc_count integer, olst_mcc_total_amt numeric(11,2));   I learned that the MS_Sequence_clustering algorithm can deal with nest table , but in my case the sequence of stores(olst_mcc_code) is not important, how can I do this.   SQL Server 2008 GUI does not allow us to choose the MS_sequence_clustering algorithm, but only the clustering algorithm, does it mean if we use nest tables then MS_sequence_clustering algorithm is automatically chosen?

Selecting the correct auto-generated ID associated with a given customer

I have the following two tables (among many) in an OLTP database: TABLE NAME: BusinessEntity TABLE FIELDS: BusinessEntityID, int, IDENTITY(1,1), NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY BusinessEntityType, nvarchar(10), NULL TABLE NAME: Person TABLE FIELDS: BusinessEntityID, int, NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY, FOREIGN KEY to BusinessEntity.BusinessEntityID FirstName, nvarchar(30), NULL LastName, nvarchar(30), NULL There is a 1-to-1 Identifying Relationship between the BusinessEntity and Person tables. When a new customer needs to be added to the database, I execute the following T-SQL statement: INSERT INTO BusinessEntity (BusinessEntityType) VALUES (‘Customer’); What I don’t know how to do is retrieve the value of BusinessEntity.BusinessEntityID that was automatically assigned to the new customer so I can then append it to Person.BusinessEntityID. While I know I can execute: SELECT MAX (BusinessEntityID) FROM BusinessEntity; there is no guarantee that the BusinessEntityID will be the one associated with the new customer I just added because it is possible that other new customers can be added to the BusinessEntity table by other users during the interim period between the time I execute the previously mentioned INSERT command and then SELECT command. Any help/guidance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Customer Activity Designer Problem - "Could not generate view for VisualBasicValue`1"

I'm reading Bruce Bukovics Pro WF4 book and in chapter 16 - Advanced Customer Activites, he details emulating a Sequence activity along with a custom designer. When I drop the custom activity into a new xaml activity, I'm getting all sorts of wierdness. The custom sequence activity has a condition property that determines whether to schedule each child activity contained within. Once I set a value in the ExpressionTextBox for the activity, Visual Studio starts showing in red "Could not generate view for VisualBasicValue`1" along with this error showing up in my error window: The activity 'VisualBasicValue<Boolean>' cannot be referenced by activity 'MySequence' because the latter is not in another activity's implementation.  An activity can only be referenced by the implementation of an activity which specifies that activity as a child or import.  Activity 'VisualBasicValue<Boolean>' is declared by activity 'MySequence'. Here is the source for the activity itself: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Activities; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Collections.ObjectModel; namespace ActivityLibrary { [Designer(typeof(ActivityLibrary.Design.MySequenceDesigner))] public sealed class MySequence : NativeActivity { [Browsable(false)] public Collection<Activity&

Upload file control intefering with javacript and Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance?

Ok I'm trying to use the dreaded Upload File control and it's not within an UpdatePanel. Here's what I have, I'm using jQuery to display messages on the client side from the server. One of the things I'm doing is I'm setting up a script to run using: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(iamloading); and in my iamloading I have: function imaloading() {    $(document).ready(function () {        displayMessage();    }) } Not to bore you with details but the displayMessage is where I am doing the jQuery, this has worked for ever. Now I'm building this page with the Uploadfile control and this stops working and if I remove the control it works again.I've made sure that the function handler is created for iamloading but it never fires as though something has unregistered the event. Any help or suggestion would be of great healp. Thanks

Content authoring by the customer...

Hey all,We've developed a multilingual ASP.NET MVC 2 website. From the main navigation, we have "Home", "Catalog", "Publications", "Contact", "About us", a typical small SMB website. The product catalog is based on a small DB (20 tables or so) via that is read through EDF. Nothing fancy, typical school example so to speak. The "publications" tab is a place where the customer wants to post his realisations, PDF docs, etc, however this is a page that the customer wants to maintain themself. Also the home page contains text that the customer wants to edit as well as parts of the contact page. The above sounds like I would have to look at a CMS (which I did, umbraco, orchard, etc) however, most CMS's take ownership of the site and than I have to re-implement the catalog that is now working smoothly within ASP.NET  MVC 2 concept. Alternativly I thought about Expression Web, but after a very brief trial I saw that expression web doesn't like the ASP.NET MVC structure, master pages and css stuff (unless some1 did get it to work?)So, does any1 have an idea here, any options I could do?thnx

Measure - New Customer Count

I need to create a measure which counts the number of new customers for each time period. My fact table contains the customer number and its easy to create a distinct count of customers per month/week/year. I'm thinking I need to obtain the first order date for the given customer and compare if the select period is within the time frame, then include or exclude.
