Insert into SQL Server with ajax file uploader

I am getting error in here

Incorrect syntax near '987'

987 is where i put clientname.text

        Dim objCmd As New SqlCommand("Create Table " + clientname.Text + "(name Varchar(50), event Varchar(50), date1 datetime, username Varchar(50), password Varchar(50), " + strCommandText + ")", objConn)

        objCmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text

        Dim objConn2 As New SqlConnection("Data Source=dddd.db.2.hostedresource.com; Initial Catalog=mrpoteat; User ID=xxxxx; Password=xxxxxx;")
        Dim strCommandText2 As String = ""
        For index2 = 1 To Attachments1.Items.Count Step 1

Insert Into SQL Server, With Current File Uploader Count

I have a Multiple File Uploader named "Attachments1" , and to get the cound I used "Attachments1.items.count"... then I have a Insert Into Command for SQL Server, that Inserts information into the table for every item in "Attachments1", you can see the below code... For Each item As AttachmentItem In Attachments1.Items             Dim objConn2 As New SqlConnection("Data Source=XXX")             objConn2.Open()             Dim objCmd2 As New SqlCommand("INSERT INTO clientport (name, event, phone, email, date1, password, path, path2, filename, number)" & "VALUES (@name, @event, @phone, @email, @date1, @password, @path, @path2, @filename, @number)", objConn2) But for the "number" Column, I would like to insert the Count for that file... For example if Attachments1 has 3 files it will insert into the database the time (which works fine)  the probem is the number column doesnt make file1 for the first file, file 2 for the second file, and file3 for the third file... Instead it puts file3 for all three rows when it Inserts into the DB.  my code is below to get the count.   Dim strcommandtext As String = ""

            lblMessage.Text = "No file to upload"

            'if the upload does not contain an image...error
            If txtSaveAs.Text Is Nothing OrElse txtSaveAs.Text.Trim() = "" Then
                txtSaveAs.Text = txtFileUpload.FileName
                txtSaveAs.Text = txtSaveAs.Text.Trim()
            End If

                Dim path As String = Server.MapPath("~/images")

                    lblPath.Text = path & "/" & txtSaveAs.Text

Ajax - Send Binary File to Server

Hi Guys,

Am new to Ajax coding.

Is it possible to send a binary file file from client to server using ajax???

am using ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") to get a binary file from client. I need to send the binary data to server.

Making Ajax Callbacks to the Server Using jQuery with ASP.NET

In the first part of this article series I introduced jQuery's functionality and how it provides a rich client side programming model. This time around I'll expand on these concepts and show you how you can use jQuery in combination with ASP.NET using it as an AJAX backend to retrieve data. I'll also discuss how you can create ASP.NET controls and otherwise interact with jQuery content from ASP.NET pages in WebForms.

jQuery is just a JavaScript library so it will work seamlessly with ASP.NET both from page code as well as through backend driven code using the Page.ClientScript object or ScriptManager. You can use jQuery on its own as a client side and Ajax library that communicates with ASP.NET or you can use jQuery in combination with ASP.NET AJAX. The two actually complement each other quite well as jQuery provides functionality that the ASP.NET AJAX library does not and vice versa. For the most part the interaction between the two libraries is trouble free except for a few very rare edge cases.

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

Temporary Tables - MS SQL Server

Usage of temporary tables in MS SQL Server is more developer friendly and they are widely used in development. Local temporary tables are visible only in current session while global temporary tables are visible across all sessions.

Temporary tables in SQL Server vs. table variables

When writing T-SQL code, you often need a table in which to store data temporarily when it comes time to execute that code. You have four table options: normal tables, local temporary tables, global temporary tables and table variables. I'll discuss the differences between using temporary tables in SQL Server versus table variables.

scripts file not found on server - 404

Fiddler is showing a 404 error when my published web application runs. the jquery.js file in
/scripts is highlighted in red by fiddler as not found. ( IIS log also shows the 404 error ).
I run the web app from visual studio, on local host - no problems. The publish is successful.
All the files are in the scripts folder of the web app on the server.

In the site.master I have:
<script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Visual studio does not complain about this. ( which indicates the file is found. )

Oddly, when I fully qualify the path, VS says file not found, but after I publish and run, fiddler
shows the jquery file being found and sent to the browser.
<script src="/MvcApplication1/Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

when the <script> path is "../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js", the fiddler error is
404: /Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js .

when the <script> path is "/MvcApplication1/Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js", fiddler shows the file
being sent to the browser from that /MvcApplication1/Scripts path.

Both the Scripts fol

Go Global: Localizing Dynamic Web Apps with IIS 5.0 and SQL Server

The success of a database-driven international Web site depends on how well the code and localized content work together with the software on the client and server. Localizing a dynamic Web site is more complicated than localizing a static one. The use of HTML and ASP code for static and dynamic content on IIS 4.0 or 5.0, coupled with Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) and SQL Server, enables Web sites to support as many languages as necessary. Choosing the right character sets and code pages, the variations in the Unicode support for IIS 4.0 and 5.0, as well as ways to avoid some common pitfalls are all discussed.

Migrating aspnet tables to dev server - having issues

We're trying to migrate a one of our apps to our dev server for testing and development, but we're having problems with the membership functionality. We can add users, but there seems to be a disconnect with roles. We can query the aspnet_users table and find the new user in there, but when we query the aspnet_usersinroles table, that user id is not present.

We're also unable to run the Roles.GetUsersInRole("somerole") method. It returns 0 records. When I run Roles.ApplicationName, it returns the correct name, so .NET should be passing the correct app name.

We're just a little baffled. If anyone could shed some light on what could be the issue, we would appreciate it.

Thanks! :)
