infopath form default view issue

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 13, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

hi,

i'm having some issue with my form views.

i have 3 views for my form. 1 for the fill in, 1 for approving and the last one to be submitted to the database

i have set the fill in form as initiator. and the approver view as default but when the 3rd user wants to open the form to submit the form to the database it does not open the form with the view for submitter. it keeps opening the approver view.

and if i set the approver view to default it opens the approver view, if i set the fill in view to default it open the fill in view.

how can i fix this. can i only create 2 views for 1 form?

Issue in Infopath 2007 browser form - cascading dropdown using owssvr.dll filter view

Referring the below link, I created a cascading dropdown. The parent dropdown has sharepoint list as datasource and the child dropdown has xml datasource that points to owssvr.dll filter view. The cascading drop down works fine in preview but throws error after publishing as admin approved form - "form cannot run the specified query" exception when trying to execute xml datasource i.e., when a value is selected in parent dropdown. The security is 'Full Trust". In the event viewer the error message states "401 unauthorised" for the user a/c. the xml data source is an approved udcx file and in central admin, have enabled cross domain for infopath service. I have tried different solution provided in tech forums but issue still exists. Not sure whether Im missing something. Can someone guide me in fixing this issue?

Infopath 2010 Browser Based Form Vs Infopath 2010 Filler Based Form Issue

I have created a detailed infopath form that is connecting to multiple sharepoint lists, some of which contain thousands of rows and dozens of columns.  To tailor for the data load i have enabled the form to only pull in data as needed and on some of the lists i have created 5 or 6 data connections to the same list, each only looking at a certain set of data, and as you make your way through the form selecting your options, the data is pulled in. If i preview this form from within Infopath or if i launch it using Infopath filler this works great, the data is pulled through in under a second.  However if i then publish the form to the browser and launch it through the browser, it now takes roughly 30 seconds to pull in the data. My question is therefore this,  Is there something i can do to speed up the way the data is pulled in when launched through the browser?  are there transport protocols i can alter or something like that? maybe config in central admin or infopath config? any help would be gratefully appreciated as if i can not get the form to pull the data in fast through the browser then the whole project is a waste of time as my management team will never go for the solution if it is slow and will get slower as more data is added. thanks

InfoPath list form publish issue when URL changes

Hi,

We have a problem with publishing SharePoint InfoPath List Forms when site's or some top level site's URL is changed. After someone changes the URL that change does not affect to the InfoPath list form's publish URL value and you are not able to publish the form anymore. I got the following error message and if I change the URL back what it was before then publish works fine again. I don't know is this a feature or bug but does someone know is it possible to somehow update the publish URL to the form so that the possible site URL changes won't break the form publishing?

The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
<detail><errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">There is no Web named "/sites/......./_vti_bin/Lists.asmx".</errorstring></detail>

Provision an InfoPath form template in a content type, with "view in browser" option

Hi all.
I've to provision an InfoPath form template in SharePoint 2010 within a content type, and my form must be open in a browser.
The provision of the .xsn file and of the content type goes well, but my form always open in the client and not in the browser. Instead, if i publish my form from InfoPath 2010 using the "Publish" option and i select to publish my form within a content type, everything goes well. I can see the form in the browser.

Here is my code.

Module

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
 <Module Name="OpeningJeans" Url="_cts/MY CONTENT TYPE" RootWebOnly="TRUE">
  <File Path="InfopathModules\MyForm.xsn" Url="MyForm.xsn" />
 </Module>
</Elements>

ContentType

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
<!-- Parent ContentType: Form (0x010101) -->
 <ContentType ID="0x0101

Filter Form Library View using promoted columns from InfoPath

Hi
I have a form that requires two levels of approval. This is published to a form library on SharePoint 2007. I only want users to see their own forms as there are monetary values involved. I can achieve this using the view filter “Created by” & “Modified by” = [Me], however the line approvers can only see the forms after they have interacted with them. Once the next person in the workflow edits, they cannot see the form.

I have tried using columns I promoted where I have stored the username of the approvers and using the [Me] filter, I get a “Filter value is not a valid text string”. I created two more calculated columns in SharePoint making them equal to my InfoPath fields, and I still get the same error.

Can anyone tell me how I can set a filter so that these line managers can at all times see any forms that have required their approval?

Many thanks in advance.

New/Edit Default Form Link for InfoPath Created Forms

I've created 2 forms using InfoPath (Edit & New).  Both forms publish correctly, however I would like the "New" form to display by default when a user creates a New list item, and the "Edit" form to display (by default) when a user attempts to Edit an existing item.

Currently, Each form is available, but the New Form displays by default for either action.  The get the Edit form, the user has to select the the Edit form from the View dropdown box.  I'd really rather not have the dropdown box at all, and simply open the correct form per the action requested by the user.

Thanks,

infopath form view restriction for sharepoint user/groups

Hi,

I would like to restrict sharepiont groups on infopath form views . I mean when they login to sharepoint site and open the form they should see their view in the form.  we have sharepoint foundation 2010.

I have gone through following link

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sharepointinfopath/thread/25951740-8865-4421-8ef1-c850d783e674

I think this service required sharepoint server 2010. Is there any link where I can work out this on sharepoint foundation.

any help appreciated.

Thanks

Infopath Form template when used not promoting data to a library view

Hi,

Have a really strange issue here that I can't figure out and wondered if any of you have had this issue?

Basically we have 5 libraries and the infopath form moves between them and there is consistent promoted fields in all the libraries.

We have 4 forms per lib with all the same properties promoted.

But one of the forms does not seem to show it data in the table view (you can see it in edit form (SP Page)???) for lib 4 (it shows in all the others).

I can't determine why this is occuring and what I need to do to fix it.

InfoPath form Submitting Issue

Hi,

I am having prob while submitting the infopath form in the form lib.

1. Actually i ve published 3 infopath form in a single form lib.All forms are full trusted and all fields on each form are same.Problem is that if the form lib is empty then form successfully submit in the form lib but if there is any from available in the form lib then it doest not submit, shwoing error " An error occured while the form was being submited". And then i tried to submit from the form design preview level then it says ".....The form cannot be submitted to the following location: http://server/site/formLib/10001_6644000_2010-11-09T15_18_44_69.xml. Folder doest not exist."

2. Then i deleted all content type from the from lib settings. Then i did open the infopath form in design mode and submited at preview level then it was successfully submited to that form lib(eithere form lib is empty or not empty).

3. Above whole process i ve successfully completed in development server but in the production server i m facing this type of problem. i am unable to find out the solution. even i ve deleted the form lib and then i ve recreated again. Pls help me.

Thanks in Advance.

Edit a Microsoft InfoPath Form in SharePoint Datasheet view

Hello- I created a form in Microsoft InfoPath 2003 then published the form in Microsoft SharePoint 2007. I then populated the form with test data and submitted it. I would like to know if the "Edit in Datasheet" under Actions will allow me to edit a submitted Microsoft InfoPath form in SharePoint.  I have administrative rights to the SharePoint site however when I review my sample submission in datasheet view, it indicates in the right corner, "Read Only. Am I doing something wrong or is there no capability to "Edit in Datasheet" for 2003 InfoPath forms?  I have used both SharePoint and InfoPath for a few years but am no expert by any means.  Is there a simple solution to this question?  Will progamming be involved?  If so, is there a link available to walk me through the process.  The key is that individuals must be able to edit their submitted form using a datasheet view.  If the end user makes any changes within the datasheet view, those changes should also update the original form that was populated.

Users who do not have permissions to access InfoPath 2007 web based form can view the form if someon

I have a SharePoint Form Library with an InfoPath form published to the form as the default template. The form library has several forms in it that have line item permissions. This is supposed to restrict who can view the form. If the user who has had their permissions removed navigates to the form through SharePoint the form does not display (this is expected behavior). However if the user is provided a link to the URL for the form then the can view the InfoPath form.

Here is an example of the link: http://moss.companyname.com/test/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XmlLocation=/test/InfoPath%20Test/system2009-10-23T12_23_13.xml&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fmoss%2Ecompanyname%2Ecom%2Ftest%2FInfoPath%2520Test%2FForms%2FAllItems%2Easpx&DefaultItemOpen=1

In addition I tried to put the forms into a folder and restirct the permissions on the folder, but the restricted users can still view the form.

When I removed the users permission to the form library then they got an error message.

I also tested this with a SharePoint list item and restricted permissions and this did not allow the user to view the item.

Infopath browser form - Digital Signature resized in print view

Hi,

I have an Infopath browser based form that I have a digital sig on.  When the user signs it (Valid Signature - Signed by) the font size is small and is acceptable for use in the form.  Howvever, when I go to "Print View" it resizes to a larger font.  I do not want this as I am trying to fit the form to one page.  I altered the font in the signing section in the Print View in Infopath to no avail.  Looking at the Manifest file, I cannot locate the code where it determines the font size.  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Aaron
