After function fix (semicollon missing), calendar stopped working again... Does anybody have any idea what can be wrong?

Adding a custom control to the SharePoint 2010 Team Site Wiki Page Template ( wkpstd.aspx ) programm

Topic This is maybe my last post about the Team Site Wiki Page customization with the aim of exceeding its limitations. This time we are going to customize the unique template ( wkpstd.aspx) by replacing the control that renders the editable content by a custom one. In this post example, we will take advantage of the use of this custom control to render not editable additional contents, for instance, a header and a footer that could be the same for a specific Wiki Page Library. Of course, we are not going to really customize the template, but we are going to use a delegate control to replace the control at runtime. Here are the screen shots of the result: We can see a non editable Header and Footer on the Team Site Wiki Page In edit mode these additional contents are not rendered, but we can add new content as usual And of course, after having saved the page, the new content is rendered wtih the non editable Header and Footer. Steps required   If you look at the Team Site Wiki Page template, wkpstd.aspx, you can see the control that is rendering the editable content/ <SharePoint:EmbeddedFormField ID="WikiField" FieldName="WikiField" ControlMode="Display" runat="server" /> We are first going to create a custom EmbeddedFormField control Then, we are going to use a delegate control to replace the native EmbeddedFor

Creating custom IP-STS for sharepoint foundation 2010 without ADFS

I plan to create very simple custom IP-STS for SharePoint foundation 2010 without ADFS server so anyone can integrate Windows Live ID to SharePoint foundation 2010 simply without ADFS, I can't use ADFS server because it could not install on Windows Web Server 2008 (Web Edition), also I found many article use LDAP provider but it does not exists in SharePoint Foundation too (it requires Sharepoint Server Edition). After too much searching I just found the following article and find all technique except one problem. 1)    Creating Custom Claim Provider: http://blogs.technet.com/b/speschka/archive/2010/03/13/writing-a-custom-claims-provider-for-sharepoint-2010-part-1.aspx 2)    Creating Custom STS Provider: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/chunliu/archive/2010/04/02/how-to-make-use-of-a-custom-ip-sts-with-sharepoint-2010-part-1.aspx   Only one step remains: I got following error after enter username in STS site and redirect to http://localhost/_trust/default.aspx , ( I leave EncryptingCertificateName empty). Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object I expect to get access denied error instead of that error. Is it possible anyway? So does anyone know where can I ask my question except this community? Can anyone help me where can I find working article to create custom IP-STS without ADFS server Any idea will help me Thank

Custom Default.aspx SharePoint 2010

I would like to replace the default.aspx with a custom default.aspx.  I have been able to accomplish this with a feature. I am finding the when deployed the new default.aspx page shows up in the following directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\ProjectInsightSPMaster_ProjectInsightLayoutFeature\defaultpage I also have a default.aspx located in the following directory.  This is the one that is deployed with the site definition. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\SiteTemplates\PISP    When I browse to a site in IE, it is in fact looking at the correct (new) default.aspx page which is located in the FEATURES directory.  How does SharePoint know to use this default.aspx page instead of the one located in the SiteTemplates directory.  This is confusing to me.  Can you explain?   Is this the correct way of deploying an updated default.aspx?   dave

How to create a custom page layout in sharepoint foundation 2010

I need to create a custom page layout in sharepoint foundation 2010.

I am aware that wss 3.0 and sharepoint foundation do not have the publishing infrastructure.

I need to know if the same procedure that is used to create custom web part pages in WSS 3.0 is to be used in SharePoint foundation too or are there other ways.

I am relatively a fresher to sharepoint technology. Please help.

Thanks in advance:D.

Sharepoint Foundation - Create and deploy custom edit/view forms for external lists

Firstly, we are using sharepoint foundation so Infopath forms are not an option for us.

We have a Visual Studio sharepoint project which deploys a complete sharepoint site. The site contains a number of external lists and we want to be able to create customised view/edit forms for these lists and add them to our Visual Studio project so they can be deployed as part of the new site. The idea is that we can deploy the solution to a fresh site with a default set of forms which can then be customised for different implementations of the site.

Here's the steps we have been using to try and do this:

1. Deploy the base project (BDC) to the sharepoint site

2. Create external lists based on the BDC content types

3. Use Sharepoint Designer to create new edit/view forms for the lists and set these as the default forms for the list

3. Save the site as a template

4. Import the template into a new Visual Studio project and select the lists we require. This gives us a List Definition, a pages module (with element file), an elements file and a schema file (both for the List Instance).

5. We then add the contents of the imported project to our main solution as follows:

  • Create a new List Definition (including List Instance)
  • Copy the contents of the imported Elements.xml to the Elements file for our List Instance.

My new item form is loading very quickly but edit form taking more than a minute. I tried with helath reports and firebug and yslow tools.

I didn't success with any reason. I request you to send me why it happening to the edit form page only

Out of 42 field 12 fields are lookup and I have field edit permissions enabled for different users.

Let me know what can I do to improve page load time for my list edit form.

Sharepoint 2010 custom .aspx page for custom functionality

I want to include a custom .aspx page with code behind in sharepoint 2010. This aspx page is supposed to take data
from custom list and generate an xml. So the output is xml. Our site is an internet facing site and it is anonymous
access. Some swf files are using this aspx page to get dynamic data from list in xml format. When flash is trying
to get xml from this page sharepoint first redirects to login page. I need help from you guys, since I am new in sharepoint I got really struck here.

Thanks in advance,
Jiju Alex.

Selecting custom masterpage in Sharepoint Foundation 2010 - where and how?

I'm now building a test site just to research on Sharepoint Foundation 2010.  As I know, on previous version (SP2007), we have to install a 3rd party tool to enable selecting a masterpage for WSS 3.0.  And here, the new version Foundation 2010 too, does not has this feature.  So, if I have customised 2 masterpages and would like to apply into two different sites in the same port, how can I apply my custom masterpage?  Unfortunately, the 3rd party tool does not compatible to the Foundation 2010.  I think this is the weakness of WSS3.0 and Foundation 2010, especially when we are requested to have more than 1 masterpage to be applied into the sites.

Does anyone know any way to make Foundation 2010 to enable the masterpage selection?

Setting Task Field Values in Custom .aspx Edit Form and accessing through ExtendedProperties

Since we're using WSS 3.0 and not MOSS 2007, we have to create and use ASP forms for any custom Workflow Task Edit pages instead of being able to use InfoPath forms (which would be nice...maybe some day we'll step up to MOSS). The custom Workflow Edit Pages are used for custom Task Content Types that we create so that our Workflow Tasks can have additional fields beyond the standard Workflow Task fields. Once you've collected the values for the Task fields from the user on the ASP Workflow Task Edit form, the typical procedure is to create a hashtable and fill the hashtable with key/value pairs that represent the names of your Task fields and their associated values, as such:

// This function is called when the user clicks the Save/Submit button
// on the Custom Task Edit ASP form
public void btnSubmit_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
// Create a hashtable that will be used to update the values of task fields
  Hashtable taskHash = new Hashtable();
// For each field, create two values in the hashtable. If the field name
// matches a field in the Task content type, the field name will not be
// searchable as a key within the ExtendedProperties hashtable. So
// create a second field that is a duplicate of the first but having a
// name that doesn't exactly match an existing field in the Task
// content type. That way it will be a searchable ke

Sharepoint Foundation 2010 - How to control which fields are shown on new/edit/view forms for Extern

I have an external list which contains a DateTime field.  For the display I have added an additional string field to the BDC Entity , so i can display the date in whatever format is required.  But i still need the actual date field so a Date picker is rendered on the edit form.  How can I display the string field on the generated Display Form and the date field on the Edit Form.

I have tried adding the following to the field declaration (in the List schema) for the string field so that it's only shown on view forms, but that didn't work.

  • ShowInDisplayForm="TRUE" ShowInEditForm="FALSE" ShowInNewForm="FALSE" ShowInViewForms="TRUE"

Am i missing something, or is this yet another 'feature' of external lists which looks like it should work but doesn't?

I know i could create custom iew and Edit Forms manually t

Custom Workflow Approval form creation in SharePoint 2010

How to create Custom workflow approval form in sharePoint 2010.?

SharePoint 2007 - How to associate a Custom List View with a Custom Edit Form. Edit link always re

Can someone give me a clue of how to connect a specific Custom List View with a custom Edit Form.

I have created a custom list, and I have created a custom view attached to that list.   I also have a custom CustomEditForm.aspx form created using SharePoint Designer.

I want to associate the Custom Edit form directly with one and one view only for a given list so that when the user clicks the edit icon in that view, they are linked to the custom Edit Form.  But all other views including the All Items view behave as normal, i.e. using the normal EditForm.aspx.

I can replace the EditForm.aspx in the Url with my custom form and it works fine, but I can't seem to figure out how to connect the custom view edit link to the custom form.  It always takes me back to the default EditForm.aspx page.

I have investigated the href="{$URL_Edit}?ID={@ID}" onclick="GoToPage('{$URL_Edit}?ID={@ID}') in code, which appears to  be how the URL is generated but I'm not sure how or where best to set the value of URL_Edit parameter so that I point to the custom Edit Form.  This is somehow getting passed into the custom view, but I'm not sure how best to set it for a specific non-AllItems view.

Does anyone
